DO NOT believe everything these guys tell you they say they work on classic cars but told me that there are no ways to repair scratches from windshields and will need replacement, a quick google search will show you many many methods and products for restoring windshields some old classic cars need treatment for the windshield over the years but do not want to have it replaced and want to keep it original, which they can...jeez.

I almost started laughing but bit my lip when getting a quote from Orinda Classic Car Center for my 1969 Road Runner.I explained to Hans I wanted to have a new in-line fuel filter installed along with a new fuel tank sending unit. He told me it would take 6-8 hours and would cost $2600.I responded, "So your billing rate is $400 per hour? He said, "Yes on all classic our billing rate is $400/hour.As I left, I said to myself, I guess they don't want the business which was odd in that there were no mechanics working on cars in any of the service bays.I took my car to a very trusted mechanic in Lafayette and had it back in two hours at a cost of $320.In the event Orinda Classic reads this posting, I hope they realize $400 per hour is equivalent billing at $832,000 per year assuming a 40 hour work week. Only a fool would pay that amount. Avoid OCC. It's beyond a ripoff.

The classic car manager, Hans, is a very knowledgeable and a very nice guy. However, management has established his hourly rate at $400. It's not his fault, but I think this is outrageous. But seeing the number of classic cars parked inside and outside the facility waiting for services, this is, apparently, not a deterrent for many customers. And, based on basic supply and demand theory, the hourly rate must be sustainable. However, be warned that getting your car fixed here is going to cost you.

I cannot recommend Orinda Classic Car Center if you own a classic car. Their price estimates, in my case, were way too high, based on two estimates I received for the same repairs from two nearby classic car repair shops. I took my recently restored 1949 Cadillac Coup Deville to Orinda Classic Car to have three issues looked at: the truck was not locking properly, the hood latch cable needed to be reconnected to the latch, and the gas gauge was stuck at half-full. I left the car with John and then Hans called me with the following estimates: $1,500 to fix the fuel gauge $1,350 to fix the hood release cable/latch $1,400 to fix the trunk lock/latch. $4,250 total When I told Hans that these estimates seemed way too high, he called me back the next day and offered to fix everything for $2,900. I had to wonder why he tried to charge me $4,250 in the first place? Even so, $2,900 still felt too high, and I told them I would take the car back. They wanted me to pay them $500 for diagnosing the problems, and I told them I did not owe them $500 because their estimates were not in good faith based on how high they were. We mutually agreed that I would take the car back without me paying them $500. I then received two estimates from two other nearby classic car repair shops for the same repairs, and both estimates were for under $1,000 (as opposed to the $4,250 initial estimate and $2,900 revised estimate from Orinda Classic Car Center). I got my car repaired with one of these shops, and all of the problems were completely fixed. In addition to the $4,250 for the three items above, John and Hans also recommended that I spend significant additional money replacing all four tires even though they only had less than a thousand miles on them, due to age (they were all installed in 2011). But the mechanic who ultimately fixed the car said that the tires were in great shape and they did not need to be replaced anytime soon.
