“I love Ledger's and have been coming here for years. They're the go to liquor store for cocktail lovers in the east bay. They have an amazing selection of all sorts of liquor, and their staff is very knowledgable about it. I recently ordered our wedding liquor through them. They were really helpful in getting the exact brands I requested and organized when I went to pick up the liquor. The wedding cocktails came out amazing!

“I'd first heard about this place from Dr. Dave Jalen about 13 years ago. As a guy that doesn't drink, doesn't buy wine, and isn't very fancy...I'm at a loss about anything alcoholic. Wine scares me. Dan has been my trusted advisor for the past 13 years. He's not only provided me very solid recommendations (with a 100% appreciation rate), he has also helped me buy some legendary wine for some dental legends (Dr. Carl Misch (Dentist to pope John Paul, RIP), Dr. Jeff Brucia). Some of his wines are impossible to get, even for the dentist of the pope. Thanks, Dan!”
“Best beer bottle/ can store in the world so far that I have found. Huge selection of premium beer. I drink ipa and they always have something I like. Especially Pliny the elder but I am always trying different ipa’s to see what’s out there. Super chill usually not too many people in there. Customer service is always chill (good thing)”
“Hosted a women's wine-tasting networking event here in August and had a blast. The space is relaxed and beautiful, lots of cute seating. Bay Grape offers a wide variety of wines. We had a flight of women-made wines from California. Nadine, Kylie-Ayn, and Stevie are great to work with! Will continue swinging by for the occasional sips of something out of the ordinary.”

“Open late until 2am, carry huge selection of liquor and wines, mixers, sodas, groceries you'd expect from your neighborhood convenience store and the guys behind the counter are always professional and courteous. The reason I give it a four and not a five star is parking can be a huge challenge.”
“I've now been to 2 of Jackson's affiliated liquor stores; each has knowledgeable staff and a good selection of beers and spirits. I go for the bourbons and stouts and am never disappointed in the selection. be prepared to pay a bit of a premium, but know they have some choices not found at competing local stores. I will definitely continue to shop there.”
“Great customer service! Shout out to Nuala, who provided a great experience for us. We arrived at the Montclair shop, which has an amazing selection of wine and cheese. Unfortunately, the gift cards we had weren't working, as they'd recently switched over to a new system. I thought we were going to have to come back another time, but they thought of a creative solution.
To make up for it, they let us pick our selection (with a nice discount) and hand-delivered our products to us at our apartment in San Francisco the next day (once they sorted out the Gift Card issue).

“In a world of supermarkets, I love a corner neighborhood market. Great selection of snacks, drinks, candy, and grocery items. Went for the cheessteaks . Have to say, for the little corner shop, they were pretty good! They make them fresh, call ahead if you don't want to wait.”

“Alkali Rye isn't what I'd consider your "normal" liquor store.They have a wide selection of wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic drinks (coffee, teas, etc.) and other items that are more unique that going to a normal liquor store.They really try to feature women-owned/people of color-owned businesses as well as local businesses. They have a range of different priced items to match different occasions.When I've been the owners and staff seem pretty knowledgeable about the different items and have helped me and others to make good recommendations and not just trying to upsell the most expensive items.I'm a whiskey fan, so I'll put it this way, if you just want a bottle of Jack and Jim, you probably wouldn't go here. But if you want a good bottle that you couldn't get at a Safeway, come here!”
“Wonderful wine shop with a HUGE selection of reasonably priced wines, as well as a few $$$. The proprietor and staff are knowledgeable and helpful. I ducked in to grab a bottle and asked for a French in the $30-50 range was was pleasantly surprised when they recommended a $32 bottle instead of a $48 bottle. Way to make a sale and get a fan for life! They also do tastings, at least on the Friday I was there. I can't wait to go back and explore their selection more.”

They don’t jack up the prices here either the prices you get here for fruits and veggies is the same as Safeway.”
