First Republic is only for individuals who know someone at corporate and have over million deposits. Been customer with First Republic for over 5 years and have few CDs but never got a service and not valued at a customer. Wily be closing all CDS and transfer to US Bank much better bank and value customers very much.

Went into the branch to withdraw cash around 1pm. Was not acknowledged upon entry. One employee was on the phone talking very loudly about another customer's personal financial details including that he has $5 million at Charles Schawb. One male employee was on his phone and ignored me the whole time I was sitting there waiting. Finally got help from a female employee, only to be met with prejudice and racial profiling. At first she asked for my ID and bank card then the last 5 digits of my SSN number. After I had given her all the information, she still proceeded to look at me in a suspicious way while jotting down my Driver's License number and other things. At that point, I was getting ready to leave. Had I been a white person, they would not have treated indifferently. I felt humiliated. Had been doing business with them for a long time, with multiple accounts; never had I been treated this way. Upon speaking with Paulie, their operations Manger, I told her that they could really use a dose of customer service/professional etiquette training. Will not be going back to that branch anymore. This place really blows.

I had a horrible experience with my own (well, previously own) bank, Mechanics Bank El Sobrante branch when I attempted to open a trust account for an estate. That took me to First Republic. Even though I had no accounts with them, Windy and Randy were both so helpful and courteous. My account was open in half the time I'd spent with an awful manager at Mechanics - where nothing was accomplished. I can't give five stars as I don't have long experience with them. Also, I was a but nonplussed to be told initially that I would have to stand as they didn't have chairs for customers. I went in during their special hours for seniors. I suspect that other older folk like me have physical issues (mine is a bad knee) which make standing for more than a few minutes difficult. They did find me a chair, but shouldn't they have offered me one to begin with? Otherwise, I think I'm going to like my new bank - and we're moving our personal accounts here as well.

My review is about a very unsatisfactory experience we had with Rick Gordon, a "Wealth Manager" who managed our portfolio. We interviewed three financial institutions before deciding to hire Rick and were very disappointed. The communication is not good- we felt brushed off when we asked questions especially when the market was going through some turmoil. The amount of money we made while managed there was also very disappointing. There are multiple reasons that we moved to Schwab. They have been really amazing and attentive to our portfolio and also supportive of our real estate investments. I do agree that Dina Zapanta is great if you are looking for someone who is good at hand holding with basic banking needs. I am writing this in March 2020 while the stock market is in the midst of a huge upheaval. I am so happy we moved to Schwab who has been incredible in preparing us for this situation always very caring and making sure they understood our goals and objectives.

I show up 145pm on a Saturday to get a cashiers check because Monday is a holiday. The bank’s stated hours are open until 2pm. I arrive only to find it closed and the doors locked.

I opened an account at First Republic Bank and I am extremely satisfied. My account rep is Dina Zapanta, who is fantastic and thoughtful. Because of her support, I opened two more accounts their for my family. Very well done!

Great bank and great service. I love being a part of a community bank. All these years I have been using banks like Wells Fargo where you are just a number. Community bank such as First Republic Bank gives you personal service, you can email your banker if you need anything. They are so helpful. I suggest everyone move to their money to First Republic Bank and if there is not one close to you find a community bank. They are better than those big banks out there.

I have been a client of First Republic Bank for over 20 years. I really enjoy the team in Orinda. I followed Dina Zapanta, the bank manager, from Wells Fargo to First Republic Bank. I'm also a business owner in Lafayette and have referred many clients. The service has always made me feel like family and not just another customer. Pam Cervantez and Randy Maderios have personally worked with my family for years. If I could give the bank and its employees 6 stars I would! Paul Lehnhoff

The customer service at First Republic Bank is outstanding. It is really a community bank, where they get to know their customers personally, while providing an incredible range of services, going above and beyond a typical bank. We usually work with Polly Le, who is exceptional, but the entire team great, and always very helpful.

I do bank here and have for many years. I was a 30+ year customer of Wells Fargo before and what difference!! At Wells Fargo, I was a number, not a person - no matter how much $$ I had on deposit. At First Republic, I am treated like royalty! Again, regardless of the amount I have on deposit. I can call and email Randy Maderios, the Asst. Manager, and have Wires initiated, discuss any subject and I am treated with the utmost respect and confidentiality. I've sent wires across the country through the telephone Customer Service as late as 9 pm. This is the kind of banking experience EVERY bank should strive for. I closed my Wells Fargo accounts and would NEVER go back. My accounts are more secure than they ever were at Wells. FRB keeps a close eye on my money and if any suspicious activity occurs, I am called immediately. I know I am in good hands. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

A bank with personal service With electronic banking and so on, I set foot in this bank only three or four times a year. I don't have large accounts. They greet me by name every time I go in. The place is warm and inviting. The services are fantastic.
