I came here to pay my bill and when I came inside I was greeted right away and helped. I haven't filled out my check for the payment and she was patient with me qnd there was nobody behind me to wait in line. I was impress how fast I was helped and she gave me time to fill out my check for the payment. I have passed by th Citi back whenever I am in Orinda but I thought what the heck and pay my Citi payment. I will say that my service at Citi was wonderful. Parking is limited qt this location but you can park qt the Safeway lot. No complaints about not finding parking at this location. Check out Citi bank

I've been a Citibank customer for 35 years, since we lived in San Francisco decades ago, and then these guys closed the Lafayette branch. Their online banking does not allow me to make a mobile deposit of a single check to my business account now. So now gotta drive to other cities just to make a deposit! So I called the Orinda branch, sort of a last resort, and I got a complete runaround, from two different "bankers," including a so-called "business banking specialist" Aurelio. He could not answer any questions, he didn't know anything. So he put me on hold and then eventually called me back when some guy at Citibank, probably offshore, came on the line. (Wasn't a "soft handoff" either).Aurelio told me that this guy could fix the situation. I could barely understand the offshore ESL Customer service guy. This "commercial banking specialist" had such a heavy accent I couldn't make out what he was saying except that, he said, "no, I can't do that." Can't make a mobile deposit into my 35-year business account!I suggested to the man that it didn't sound like he was a banker, because it sounded like he was telling me to go to a different bank for my business needs. He disconnected my call, rudely, just as Aurelio had given me horrible service. If anyone is thinking of opening a new account, I strongly suggest you avoid Citibank. Especially the Orinda branch. There was no follow through from Aurelio, of course, even though he misinformed me.UPDATE (1 wk later): Ignore Citibank "Reply" below from a bot. When I emailed the bot, it came back with "Branch Manager will call you in two days." Never did. I'm closing this account now, maybe others. Shame.

The staff are very friendly and try to be helpful. The corporate procedures for opening an account are a bit cumbersome, but I did manage to open an account (responding to an incentive offer.) It should be possible to open an account in under an hour though; there were too many questions designed to market future products to me. Also it appeared that some staff didn't have all the authority they needed to complete transactions for their other customers. This is a typical experience for most banks these days, unfortunately. It should be a priority to help clients save time rather than place unnecessary hurdles in the way of speedy service.

This review is in regards to ALL Citi Banks. I was just informed by mail that my weekly employment check will now be available in disbursements over a (5) day period. When I phoned to follow up on the two seperate letters that I received notifying me of the change. They proceeded to tell me that it was over a (3) business days not five. However, I shared the details from the letter and it was clearly five. Regardless, 3 days, 5 days... I've been banking with Citi Bank for over 18 years. My credit cards, checking and savings are all with Citi Bank. I'm in great standing. I have also been employed with the same company for over 5 yrs yet all of a sudden they want to make funds available in disbursements? Is this some new way of floating MY money? Has anyone else recently shared the same experience? Up till now, I have been pretty happy banking with this company. However, after my follow up call, I plan to close all of my accounts to another bank.

these people have treated my 90 y/o life long client parents terribly. they will not call them to help with an on-line issue (they have randomly blocked them from on line act). instead we call and hold for hours just to be routed to India where the lines are so faint they cant be heard, with Indian people who have thick faint accents. no senior can hear them. it is impossible to get help. all the Orinda reps have left citibank. ORINDA MANGER IF YOU ARE READING THIS PLEASE REACH OUT TO THE HAYNES FAMILY

I went to Orinda Citibank to open a junior account for my daughter. I brought her SS, school ID and birth certificate. Vida - I think that's her name checked her computer and she said that the proof of identification we brought is not enough so she checked with her Manager. She came back and informed us that my daughter who is a minor needed a California DMV ID in order to open a junior account. The account was going to be under my account. She then asked if my daughter is a CITIZEN and if we lived in Orinda. This is after she informed us that she can't open the account. What does that have to do with it??? I brought my daughter's SS and birth certificate and yes SHE IS a Citizen. I guess you have to get a California ID for your child if you want to open an account at this location for a minor. Can toddlers get a California ID? We called another Citibank location and they told us to come in with the same proof of identification and they will assist us. DO NOT GO HERE!!! GO TO ANOTHER BANK LOCATION!

The teller was incredibly rude! Wendy Turner, she acted like she was incapable of both listening and looking up something on her computer. Kept telling an old women she should just stop talking because she could have had the answer by now, that the woman was talking in circles, instead of just looking up what this poor lady needed. I watched this unfold and I was frankly very surprised by the disrespect with which she treated this women. This poor women eventually just left without getting her questioned answered because Wendy refused to just look up what she needed. It was extremely poor customer service.

As other's have said this is by far the worst bank I have ever had to deal with. DO NOT BANK AT THIS BRANCH (or any other Citibank). The manager is a lair and a cheat! They run scam promos to get you to open up accounts and then do everything they can to not fulfill their part of the promo. A friends daughter was trying to earn money for college and came to me with a promo from Citi that said she would receive $200 if a friend opened an account and kept the money there for 3 months. So I went in with her to open a qualifying account and helped by a totally incompetent clerk who took over an hour to complete the process. As she was fumbling through the promo, that she knew nothing about the promo changed while we opened the account. It went from $200 to $100 for her and $50 for me. OK I decide I would give my $50 to the daughter. So three months pass (the qualifying time) and no money in either of our accounts. I went in and talked to the manager who claimed he couldn't find the connection between our accounts or the record of the promo. He said he would look into it and get back to me. HE NEVER DID. Next the daughters' mother went in to the bank and talked to the manager who said he would fix it and we would both see our money in a couple day, NEVER HAPPENED. When the daughter came home from college this summer she went in and talked to the manager who just double talked her ny asking questions about my account which she didn't know and told her he would take care of it. HE NEVER DID. DO NOT BANK HERE!!! They are incompetent, lairs and cheats.

I am soryy to see all the negative feedback here and I then realized that the bad reviews all had to do with customers expectingto be treatged like royalty. That even is understandable, since many Orindans do seem to come with a built in right-of-way both in their personalities and their vehicles. So I get it, the FOUIR Yelpers giving a single star and berating were asled for their social security numbers when cashing checks. Mind you, not a one of them had an account there, they just felt too special I guess to need to comply with new standards for preventing identy theft and fraud. Then, the other star could not deal with the length of time it took to open an account for their new au pair. So OK Orinda, I have been here 40 years, I get it. However: although an Orindan I am not wealthy, and I love the way I am treated here. I often have less than $50 in my account, but get instant credit when depositing. I can put in $500 and get out $450.Despite being a pauper, I have a personal banker named BRIAN who comes out from behind his glass-walled cube with a big smile and a new idea for a financial product that might work for me. My MOM, who is only slightly better off that me, was able to secure a substantial home equity line with CitiBank although her line of credit was terminated when her income changed by 2% with Bank of America. When I went to B of A to try to see what we could do they had no idea who my mother was, did not recognize the name - after she had been banking there for over 40 years. Pardon the novel-length post. I deducted a single star because the hours are indeed short and I wish they would have one late evening and a few Saturday hours.

First off I'm not an account holder at this bank. That said, what happened to just being able to just walk into a bank and just cashing a check, that was issued by someone who banks there? Without all the b******* of being ID'd or told the need a finger print. But no. Now I go into this bank and now they ask me for my SS#. WTF? Yeah I know , I know. "Why don't you just go to your bank?" Well if it's convenient I'll just pop in and cash it at the issuing bank if it's right there. But no. Its just wrong to treat your customers like that. Whether you have an account or not.

If i could give less than 1 star i would. The place opens at 10am (wow!) and the staff have no idea how to handle anything but the most simple transaction - and even then slowly. Really questioning why i even bank with Citi now. If you don't know what to do with foreign currency transactions then don't call yourself a global bank.
