I am 81 years old, but the clerk had to ask me for identification to prove I was old enough to buy wine. This is patently absurd. Part of good customer relations is having employees use good judgment and common sense. All of that was missing here. Then, after I showed her my identification, she wanted to scan the information into the store computer. I do not want my personal information stored in an unsecured computer system where who knows who has access to it. Easier to buy wine at Safeway.

Order was incomplete and the store is not processing the refund despite the repeated calls. It’s a shame to have this experience in Orinda.

I just had an awful experience with a black bald man who I’m assuming is a manager. I am a nurse and just got off of work and he feels the need to raise his voice at me repeatedly. I did not have my I.D. I asked the cashier if a picture of my I.D or passport would be ok since I accidentally left my purse at home today. Then this man starts getting in my face.I respect and understand the need to have my license in hand since that’s their policy ( this was my first and last time going here), which I tried explaining. I am 40 yrs old, I’ve been able to show a picture of my I.D at other places no problem. He could have just calmly said no. I am 100% ok with that! No need to raise your voice with me.He needs to learn better customer service or find a job where he doesn’t need to interact with people. What a great way to end the day….

I bought a product. They denied me to return the bottle, because they said it was against the law. The Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) informed me that there was no such law. I will not purchase anything there again.

Would like to just say I understand people have bad days and are not always enthusiastic about work but the Cashier (Bald Black Man) working around 4:30pm, was extremely rude, unpleasant, condescending, and vile. The other crew memebers on the floor were very helpful and nice so I was not expecting to be disrespected by the Cashier for a 2 minute interaction. I bypassed the guy not speaking when I approached the counter with my items, that's one thing but to be blantantly rude when I politley asked a question about the price is another. His behavior was unacceptable and he should not work with the public.

I called to check on an item that showed it was available online, before going to the store. For some reason Hugh could not help me and told me to just come in the store. I told him I lived 30 miles away and did not want to drive there to find out that it’s unavailable. I don’t understand why he couldn’t just call another team member to check on the item for me.

The staff at the Orinda BEVMO are very polite and helpful. On the rare occasion that they don't have what I'm looking for they are quick with alternative choices of a similar nature.

This Bevmo in Orinda, conveniently located beside an exit from Hwy 24 East, is almost never busy. Your biggest challenge will be finding a parking space in front, but usually one or two are available.Service inside is friendly and helpful. They seem to go through a lot of new staff so sometimes I know where things are better than they do. But it’s not a big deal.Only rarely are they out of stock of the things I want, and because they never seem to be busy, my wait time at checkout is never longer than a couple of minutes. Recommended.

Was told that my sister was not able to buy alcohol because our entire party didn’t have their IDs to present. Im not the one buying alcohol and was just joining her as she ran this errand. I think this is a first ever I’ve been turned away or heard this rule. And he Insisted this was a rule meanwhile I see the older couple only the husband showed his ID.

be careful with hidden fees. I ordered wine for delivery off the net and got a final price $60 more than should have (2 cases Coppola directors cut chard at 5 cent sale). was told there is a surcharge if do by Internet, and it was quite hefty. not store's fault; corporate. bad business.

Postscript to earlier post. The lack of shelf tags meant I stood in line with a bottle of Ferrari Carano Sauvignon Blanc for about half an hour, then found it cost $24.00. Too late to stand in the line again. A few days later at Andronicos, got the same bottle for $14.00. Unfair business practices and lack of customer service at Bev Mo in Orinda means I'll be going elsewhere!
