Thank you to Pam in the office for scheduling my appointment, and very understanding as to what was going on with vehicle. To Joe, dude you’re awesome man. I had brought in my truck to get the transmission fluid serviced. I called on Friday to see if I could bring it in the following Monday and confirmed my appointment with them. Dropped it off in the morning and they let me know the parts should be in that morning and would probably have it back around the afternoon. 12pm got a call and everything was ready to go. They were nice enough to document my check engine light codes during the service as well.
I will definitely be coming back here for future service as they were polite, professional and honest with the expectations. Always happy to be able to support local Orangevale businesses whenever I can.

California transmission has the best customer service. If you have transmission issues, this should be your first and only call. They handle business with good prices and great customer service. They are the gold standard.

Great service and staff! Everyone from Pam (office), to Joe (owner) and the technician were all professional and courteous. I have a 2015 Challenger with a manual transmission and needed my clutch changed. I've had my car for 2.5 years and it's never shifted this smooth. 24 hour turn around; dropped my car off Wed at 9 in the morning, and got the call Thurs morning at 9:20ish that my car was ready. I definitely would use this shop again if the need arose.

I was referred to California Transmissions by Danny’s Automotive (highly recommend) for a second opinion on my “noise issue”. Joe @ California Transmissions called me with his diagnosis and I authorized the work, was advised it would be a few days to get the parts and install… Got a call from Joe on the date he believed the work would be completed only to advise me he misdiagnosed the issue. Here is where integrity comes into play… Joe openly admitted that he misdiagnosed the issue, told me he has been in contact with his peers in the industry and was advised to check the potential issue (outside of the transmission) as they were certain of the cause of my “noise issue”. Joe took their advice and replaced the suspect part; this solved the problem. Joe’s upfront honesty, integrity and just plan “good person” turned what could have been a very costly repair into something a little more pocketbook friendly when he could have easily charged for the non-issue too.
It’s hard to find an honest mechanic therefore I wanted to get this review to promote California Transmissions and their awesome hardworking staff!!!

I took my 2002 Ford F-150 truck to CA Transmissions of Orangevale since it started leaking motor oil and transmission fluid. That evening Joe informed me of where the oil leak was coming from. He text me photos of the crack in my oil filter housing assembly (OFHA). He would not drive the truck to determine the transmission issue until the oil leak was properly repaired to ensure the vehicle's motor was operating correctly before he could diagnose the transmission leak. Joe also provided me the OFHA part number so I could purchase it myself to save money. I ordered the part and when it arrived, I dropped it off to CA Transmissions of Orangevale. Joe replaced the OFHA which corrected the oil leak, so he could diagnose why my transmission was leaking fluid. The following day I was informed that my transmission pump and seals needed to be replaced. Joe informed me of the associated cost involved with fixing my truck’s transmission since it was sitting on his work bench ready to be repaired. I authorized him to repair just this work and had the truck back the following day. Joe was very up front and transparent with my truck’s issues and associated repair costs. I was very pleased with the work he and his mechanic performed and the time frame in which the work was completed in. I will definitely recommend Joe and CA Transmissions of Orangevale to my family and friends.

Fast, friendly, and extremely helpful! Explained the issue and offered a variety of options. Pricing seemed fair. Even helped with quick non-transmission issues. Pam was great and communicative!

I was very skeptical about going to a transmission shop for my Suburban. It was very over whelming but Pam helped me through it. The diagnostic was done very quickly. Joe the Manager walked me through everything. They are very open about everything and have the staff to back it. I highly recommend this shop and will take all of my cars there from now on.

This is the place to go if you need transmission work done. I was referred and it was apparent to me from the beginning that Joe knows what he is talking about. They inspected my vehicle (for free) and then went over and above " customer service" to call Aamco and get the needed repair done for free because it was still under warranty from previous work. They care about their employees ( sending them home early) in this horrible heatwave we have been having. I VERY HIGHLY recommend this wonderful business. Very friendly and customer service oriented. I'm an independent electrical contractor. I limped my service truck to California Transmissions recently. That truck is extremely important to our business. Joe new that. His team started on it Monday and it was ready for service on Wednesday afternoon. They drove and troubleshooted the issue before even putting a wrench on it. Joe explained the plan and details of what is involved, included the cost. The repairs were completely as explained (they threw in new spark plug wire as well). Thanks Joe! Their skilled Transmission Technician showed me the condition of the parts replaced. That was cool. Thank-you guys for taking care of me. Gary
