I never had a trainer before but after Covid I decided to take the step and get back in shape. I was recommended by a friend to look into trainers here at this gym and I messaged John DC fitness and I explained to him that I wanted to get leaner and grow in muscle as well. He gave me a free session and explained what he can do to help me reach my goal and saw where my physical fitness level was at and made a complete program for me and adjusted it as needed. He was very patient and I took about half a week to make my decision and I'm glad I did, I'd say the only regret is not starting sooner. I was about 240 when I started which has been about a year and now I'm at 226 and I look way leaner and better and feel better as well. He helped me a lot with my nutrition and helped me with recipes and weighing my food and logging in all meals. He's very flexible with schedules as well, which was a big help, and especially with motivation when your feeling lazy or if your struggling to push to the last rep. He's very open with talking about anything as well while you workout so it even feels like you working out with your friend that pushes you to be the very best version of yourself. I'd say if your on the fence for a new trainer I'd highly recommend John DC, my mindset when I train now even on days on my own has changed drastically, I push myself to the limit and with him consistently asking me "are you satisfied" "Is this the best version of yourself", has stuck with me in the gym and it has changed my everyday life by the way i look and feel! If you want something to change and don't know how or are nervous I wouldn't hesitate to ask John DC.

I applied for a job and they asked me for $500-$1000 a month. These are scammers. I woke up early for this thinking it was a job interview which they said it was, then after an hour in the zoom call they ask that we pay the said amount to use their equipment...

Self Made has been by far my favorite gym and I personally never thought I would ever say that. The reason I can now have the confidence to say it is thanks to my trainer Kevin Matua. I've been coming here since July 2024 and it has been a whirlwind of knowledge and learning. My fiancé had been trying to convince me to make the changes I wanted to see in myself physically as well as mentally. He had started working out with a new trainer and gave me the little push I needed to at least try in out, this lead me to Kevin. The thing about Kevin is he doesn't just show up to give you a good workout and to do his job. He actually takes the time to explain the "why" behind every exercise and the why behind the nutrition. His passion for fitness truly shines through every session. This in turn has changed my perspective about fitness as well. I use to be mortified about walking into any gym and I would feel like I had no idea what I was doing and being judge by anyone who looked my way. It was Kevin who boosted that confidence and really provided the knowledge I needed to push that self doubt out of my head. Yes I've lost weight, body fat, gained muscle and this is just the beginning but I feel I've gained so much more! Thank you Kevin! This is just the beginning and I have no need to slow down or stop the journey that we just begun.

Self-made it is my favorite gym I've ever trained at my Trainer . Shannon is professional, educated and dedicated to her craft. Everyone here is also so kind and genuine and willing to help especially for beginners is the cleanest I have been to and very well-maintained. I will recommend everyone to go to self made

I started to come here about a month ago to begin personal training. My coach is awesome. He's easy going, understanding, customized work out for me especially with previous injuries. I would give this place 5 stars if the facility itself was actually taken care of. All the cardio machines are full of dust and don't even look like they are ever cleaned. The other equipment is okay but pretty worn as well. As a whole, the facility doesn't look clean or maintained. There are spray bottles with chemicals but only paper towels are in the bathroom if they are stocked. I've never in a Month seen anyone clean after their clients or themselves. Juat last week i was stretching on the floor and saw gray bugs crawling around. The womens bathrooms are blown up for hours by men and then are unusable unless you have a gas masks. There are no toilet seat covers which is nasty. Honestly the coaches and peope who I've seen train here are all cool but just wish it was cleaner.

The trainers here are AMAZING and have no complaints about them whatsoever. It's the facility that lacks proper hygiene. The restrooms almost always never have soap or toilet seat covers and sometimes even hand sanitizer. I had to start bringing my own. I think I need to start bringing my own soap too. The managers of this place need to take better care of this facility. Their trainers work so hard and care about their clients. Therefore they need a proper facility that meets their clients needs.

This review is for coach Nate, and what can I say, he really taught me a lot about working out and how to incorporate a healthy lifestyle. I started training with coach Nate in April of 2023, and after 3 months, my physique looked 10x better. I came in not knowing how to do exercises properly, had elbow pain from a dislocation years back, and did not know how to eat healthy and gain weight. Coach Nate told me exactly what to eat and what I needed to do to gain muscle mass. In 3 months, I gained over 8-10 pounds with Nate, and I felt stronger than compared to day 1. Coach Nate also helped me resolve my elbow issue by incorporating exercises to help with the elbow pain and help build strength in my injured elbow. Fast forward to now, and I have gained about 20 pounds while training with coach Nate. In April of 2023, I weighed 150 pounds, and now, in March of 2024, I am 173 pounds. Coach Nate has helped me exceed expectations I never thought I could reach. I came in looking very skinny and tall and not knowing how to put on weight and do exercises correctly. Coach Nate has helped me hit PRs on my deadlifts, squats, and bench presses. I started only being able to deadlift 100 pounds, and my PR now is 225 pounds. Coach Nate has helped me hit my fitness goals and made me love working out, and I can't thank him enough. Everyone needs to train with coach Nate; he will get you right and in shape

Eliana is such a wonderful trainer to be working with! This is my first time working with a trainer, I have been with her over 2 months now and I have never felt so confident in myself or trusted my weight loss journey as much as I do now. With her guidance and extreme honesty I know I'll be able to achieve my goal, she's motivating and always has me in check! With my food and weight . This review is about my trainer Stephanie, she's honestly such a great trainer to start with if you're new to fitness like me. She helped me out with not just work outs but nutrition and balancing my time by creating a schedule. I've never been a consistent person in the gym but with her help it's become a habit little by little and checks up on you. I've done in person training and online training so if you're a really busy person and want to focus on your health but can't come in, you can do online which is a personalized program for you with weekly check in's. Overall 10/10 she's a super sweet and understanding person too and I'm glad I started my fitness journey with her !!:)

this review is for coach nate and it is loooonnngggg overdue. i was in a really bad place, mentally, emotionally and physically. i was on the verge of calling it quits on life and just giving up. i had gone to all types of doctors that continued to tell me there was nothing wrong with me, all my tests read back that im healthy, yet i had no energy, no strength, no motive to be alive. i had always wanted to get into the gym but never did because of my lack of knowledge and motivation. i had contemplated getting a personal trainer because i didn't think it would make much of an impact on my life. i was absolutely 100% wrong. i reached out to coach nate and he welcomed me in right away, wanting to discuss my goals and how he can help. the first day i came in it was just a consultation- just sort of seeing my capabilities- it wasnt even a full session but i was hooked right away and i left that facility with the biggest smile on my face and this overwhelming sense that there is still hope for me. i started in-person training with nate in august 2020. due to personal restrictions, i could only resort to online classes. this was about a year into my training and we both felt i was ready to continue training at my own gym, where nate would still make my workout plan and id be able to reach out with any concerns or advice whenever i needed it. during this time, i injured myself at work, and he helped me train through my injury to help regain strength. in the beginning of 2023, i had to make one of the most difficult decisions in my life and i sadly had to discontinue training with nate because of some personal things i had to take care of. to this day i wish i could start all over again. nate is an amazing coach, who changed my life forever. he saved my life and im not sure he knows it, but there isnt a day that goes by that the knowledge he taught me doesn't help me. if you are considering training and getting a coach, he is a great option, i worked with him for about 2 1/2 years and everyday i got a little stronger, happier and healthier. thank you for everything you did.

It was my first time fitness training and having a personal trainer. I could not be more happy to have jump started my fitness journey at this place! I have nothing but good words to say about this training facility and the people that make it so great. I had JP as my trainer and I couldn’t imagine anyone better to have trained me. From the beginning, JP was personable. He acted as an equal, never above and he had a great balance between personal and professional qualities. He pushed me when he had to but really listened to how I was feeling and doing throughout sessions. I was never particularly a gym person, let alone someone who would lift weights. He made sessions fun and less intimidating. One of the biggest qualities I appreciated throughout these 6 months was JP’s perspective on food. Going into training, food was quite a sore topic for me. JP provided me with excellent knowledge on the balance with food. He encouraged me to incorporate the things I liked to eat and educated me on a happy balanced diet. This was probably the most significant takeaway I’ve had these 6 months and I am grateful to have had a trainer with this mentality! JP really gave me the tools I needed and I can’t wait to continue to implement all that he has taught me from the way machines work to eating on a calorie deficit and still liking the things I eat.A big shoutout to Drew as well! From the moment I scheduled my first training session to the last, he was immediately on top of any issue or concern I had. He was also such a friendly face to see during sessions!All that to say, if you are looking to start training, I definitely recommend this place!

I've been coming here to train for a month & it's baffling to see that the restrooms are never in tip top shape, there's never toilet paper, toilet seat covers, paper towels or soap. As a facility that emphasizes wellness & people being in tip top shape, it would be nice to see the facility also be in tip top shape & practice what it preaches. Puhlease.

Found this gym on Instagram because I was looking for a trainer to seek guidance on my form and kickstart my health and fitness journey. You want to make an appointment because they give you a consultation on your current body stats. I had the pleasure of getting paired with Yesci my trainer. My goal LIKE MOST LADIES want a smaller waist with booty gains. She targets all my goals and keeps me focused! Always excited to go to every session because I know I'm getting closer to my body goals. I am constantly challenged and celebrated--- the perfect and ideal energy you want when you want to be the hottest version of yourself. So happy I came across this gym. I have learned so much from Yesci.
