I have taken several cars here for several different kinds of services, from a simple oil change, to replacing the clutch, and even re-doing the wiring harness in the engine bay of my C5.
The quality of service and attention to detail is absolutely outstanding and surpasses many, if not all the shops around the So Cal area.
I will always recommend Project Import to everyone for any service big or small!

Absolutely and utterly disgusted with the way this gentleman runs his business. I brought my 911 here for a maintenance after it was repainted at the body shop down the way. He had it for a week, charged me over $3k for almost pure labor and the car is now in limp mode unless you reset all the codes every time before you drive. The initial issues were never fixed. I paid this invoice happily and said, "well that is what you get with 23 year old Porsches." I was trying to be a good sport. Then I brought my TT300zx in there after it was freshly painted. The guy had it 3 days max and managed to clearly chip the right fender by dropping a tool or something else on it. He lied about that and claimed it must have been there prior to me dropping the car off...(the pain shop is three garages down and is in the same parking lot ) now he refuses to answer my calls and has forced me to leave this review.Services: Auto engine diagnostic

Brought my 370 here for a full inspection. Wasn't planning on any repairs the same day but a few were suggested and I'm so glad I moved forward with them. Its crazy that my vehicle drives so much better with a single visit. Everyone was really cool, informative and I'll definitely be back soon. Thanks guys ??

The car did end up having a blown head gasket. Although I had requested a leak down test they just changed the coolant so I had to diagnose it myself.I ended up buying my own testing kit and finding a coolant bubble forming every 3-4 minutes while the problematic cylinders were pressurized at their respective TDCs.

Trustworthy mechanics who know motorsports and how tricky it can be to work on a car with aftermarket parts. I thought I had a blown head gasket but Kiet and his crew excluded that diagnosis and properly bled/refilled the cooling system. They explained to me that the aftermarket radiator I have changes the capacity of my cooling system and throws off the markings on my expansion tank. The larger capacity means there is more expansion and overflows when the system gets hot enough.Thank you for squeezing me in on short notice!

I brought my Subaru to these guys to get my engine rebuilt. Seemed like a good place to go but I had nothing but issues with them. First when I called them they had me put a down payment for the short block being replaced which I did, and gave me a set price. They ended up calling me a couple minutes later saying it was actually gonna end up being more. I agreed because this is my daily and I need it done as soon as possible, but they ended up calling me again for an even higher price without even seeing the car. Oh well I guess it it has to be done. They said the short block was coming in and I should be good to bring it in a couple weeks. I called them multiple times just for them to tell me 2 more weeks after I had already waited. Called again just for them to do it again. Ended up taking 2 1/2 months and they didn’t even get touch my car. I ended up picking up the short block and taking to another shop. Biggest waist of time

I went with these guys for a coilover install for my Honda Fit after researching local spots in the area. There were initial problems at the start. After the install the top hat bolts were left loose, so I had to come back next day to get that resolved. After that was fixed and driving it for a bit I noticed suspension noises. I brought my car back to have it checked to see if there were mistakes made during installation. They tried to persuade me thinking it was normal. After checking with a friend a month later we noticed bearing bolt was loose and the issue was resolved. I contacted them to see if they can help with the rear suspension noise after the fact of resolving those initial issues. We set an appointment for them to check it out, this was my last effort with them, basically the mechanic said they didn’t have much time even though I schedule an appointment and brushed the issue off sayings it’s a possibility of things. My car might not be an expensive s2k but I feel like the whole install was mishandled. I put effort into trying to get this issues resolved with them and to be honest it just seems like they weren’t very interested. I was hoping to get this settled so I could do future jobs with them, but this was just a turn off.

TLDR: Unnecessary amount of energy, money, and time wasted! Just do yourself a huge favor by avoiding this place at all cost!!!
After looking through several different places for services to replace some parts and rims for my Scion Xb, I’ve decided to give this place a try because of the amount of positive reviews it had for their services. Even though, the price and the time it took for the service was a bit more than I had anticipated, everything I’ve asked them to do was done adequately, except for the rims.
Right after I received the car back, I noticed the tpms sensor was on in the dashboard, which I thought was a bit odd at first but didn’t give much thought after since I thought it was just faulty sensor that just finally gave out that day. However, after driving off from their shop, the steering wheel started to rattle and I noticed the burning smell right away. So, I pulled over and stopped the car to see what was wrong with it until I found out one of the front tires was completely flat and that the burning smell was probably coming from the brand new rim that was scratching against the flat tire and the road surface. The following day, I ended up with towing the car to my regular mechanics shop where I bought the tires from, which was barely only around 2 months ago. I did try contacting Project Import before towing the vehicle and explained the whole situation I was having to them to see if they can figure out what the problem is, in which they instead suggested me towing it to a tire shop since they didn’t carry any tires. At the mechanics shop I went to for the tire replacement, they told me whoever installed the rims overlooked and didn’t check to see whether if the valve stem was on correctly, in which caused the air to leak out of the tires and becoming flat. So after finding out about this, I immediately became disappointed and felt regretful on bringing my car to be serviced here since I did ended up spending an unnecessary amount of time & money on towing, the new tires, and as well as the alignment/installation services, which it could all have been prevented in the first place by servicing it elsewhere.

Seems like a decent shop, I took my car in to get a short shifter and bushings installed. Before deciding on this shop I called around getting quotes and this shop told me 250 if I brought in the parts. A week later I called to make an appointment and double checked that the quote for 250 was still good I was told it was. I go in they install the parts in a timely manner, but when it comes time to pay they charge me 320 instead. They told me I was wrong and 250 didn’t include the bushings. They did the work so I had no choice but to pay whatever they said I owed. They did good work but there were just little details that add up, the mechanic didn’t put a zip tie where the manufacturer specified it was required, so they had to take the car back in after I made a fuss about it, they didn’t bother to put my shift knob on strait the number were all side ways, and my shift boot wasn’t even pulled up around the retaining collar like it was supposed to. All in all 70 bucks wasn’t a big deal I just didn’t like feeling like I had some bait and switch pulled on me. While I was there I literally got an estimate for 1500 in labor for some parts I need installed in the next week. I couldn’t believe someone would play me like that when I was looking to come back and spend more money. It’s not a bad shop they seem very knowledgeable however, at least the man I spoke with seemed to have a great degree of arrogance and seemed to be under the impression that anyone that does their own repairs or mods and doesn’t work in a shop doesn’t know what they are talking about or doing. Funny thing is I have been working on cars for 17 years and have worked in several shops. I’m happy with the work they did for me, but I don’t think I’ll be back to this shop in particular due to the overall experience.

Took my 2020 Civic Si in for an upgraded clutch. They were very knowledgeable and set me up with a nice clutch. They did a great job in a timely manner and for a good price. I would recommend this shop to anyone who needs any type of work done.
