Ssoooo happy to have found this place. It’s been a tough weekend. Forgot to reorder contacts. So I pulled out my back up glasses. The fell to the floor and broke. No glasses, contacts will take 2-3 days to ship what to do. Target, Walmart, Sam’s none of them do same day glasses. I stumbled upon Orange Optical when googling same day glasses labs. I called and spoke to David who was very kind on the phone. I told him my predicament and he said no problem. Bring in some frames (they have a few frames in house, but I opted to bring my own) he said he’d have them ready same day.
Walked in this morning and was greeting with friendly people. They assisted me right away and said he can have them done for me right away!!! Currently sitting in the waiting room waiting for my glasses.
I’ll be back to add the anti glare, blue light and all that good stuff. For that they would be done the next day. And since I needed glasses ASAP I couldn’t wait.
Thank you thank you.

Hands down, one of the best family owned businesses around. I never thought that I'd benefit from knowing an optical laboratory offhand when asked. I have taken my in laws Trifocal needs and my very own glasses to Orange Optical numerous times. Not only were the staff friendly but also very informative.
There are so many options for online, yes I know but can you guarantee great customer service through a website? How about lens quality? What about those frames that you picked up at the vintage swap meet and you want to replace the lenses in them? You can trust that Orange Optical will take your frames and create reliable, quality lenses in only a couple of days. I highly recommend and I'll be back for sure!

I called Orange Optical to inquire about rx sunglasses. The lady who picked up the phone quoted a price that was competitive and I drove down to drop off my frames. A brief conversation was had about adding a cobalt blue mirror finish to the lenses for an additional $45, but I elected not to get that coating due to the likelihood these glasses would be resting at the bottom of the ocean before too long. They told me my glasses would be ready the next day and I left.
The next day I called them at 11am to inquire what time of day, approximately, they expected my order to be ready for pickup. I was told, by the owner, 1pm. At 12:55, as I was parking in front of their facility, I received a phone call from the owner informing me that a piece of machinery required to make my lenses broke just before they started my lenses. I was told it would be fixed 'hopefully sometime next week'
I expressed frustration at this situation to the owner, who pretty much shrugged his shoulders. I asked if he knew of any competitors in the area I could take my business to. He told me there were none, and that even if I did find another walk-in lab, they probably wouldn't be able to bevel lenses as required for my Oakley frames.
I asked if he would like to give me 50% off that cobalt coating we discussed the day prior in consideration of the inconvenience. His response was the word "No" delivered on top of a stifled laugh. He then proceeded to ask me if I worked, and if in my line of work, I sold things at cost. I replied that as rule of thumb, no, that would be idiotic. However, when grossly inconveniencing a customer, such as failing to meet a deadline, I would do anything, including sell products and services at cost, in an effort to maintain customer satisfaction. He rebutted that by restating he was not willing to do that, or anything else to accommodate me. The man could not do anything about the broken machine. I get that. He could have knocked $20 off a $45 lens coating and kept my business. Instead, he chose to be dismissive, which resulted in my frames being taken to a lab 20 minutes away, with a much nicer facility, same turn around time. They do however charge $2 more than Orange Optical quoted me.
I wish I had never wasted my time here. Trusting Orange Optical to get the job done is why I am unable to participate in a regatta this weekend.
