Interesting California Act Museum from 1920s to 1960s. Also, Disney Printing (1920s to 1960s) was shown here for celebrating 100 years anniversary. One of favorite printing here was with school bus and mailbox that related to my life. I would probably come back to original site for more California Act when it finish the explanation next year.

Amazing museum in the heart of downtown Orange!! Decided to stop by and pop our heads in after researching that there was a museum nearby after lunch! We were warmly welcomed and greeted by the museum staff, Mr. Bill was very enthusiastic and happily provided input and context to many art pieces throughout our tour. My favorite part of visiting local museums is the opportunity to fully connect with art and the story an art piece provides. I will definitely re-visit to see the completed construction of the extended museum and plaza that they are building!

Due to rain had to skip a planned hike and opted for a visit to the Hilbert Art Museum instead. So glad we did ! We were able to join a tour given by the man himself, Mark Hilbert. What a privilege hearing from a collector who so obviously loves this art! Great collection lovingly displayed. The museum is currently in a temporary place while they expand their permanent home. Can't wait to go back and see more!

Currently they are in a very small temporary facility. Their new facility is under construction and should be great when it's completed . Staff is very helpful

Why, oh why had I never visited this museum and check out their collection before? Several months ago I went to hear someone give a talk about travel and had such a good time I came back to hear Mr. Hilbert speak about his collecting and why he focused on California art.Now the museum is in the mist of renovation and relocated the collection to a place on Chapman for now. The exhibit I enjoyed was on trains and it really was fascinating to say the least. There was so much local history in the works presented.. Boyle Heights was the location of several different works and it sure isn't the Boyle Heights of today. We really lost something when we became such a car culture..Sorry, I get carried away some. You can bet that I will be back when the next exhibit is in place and will wait anxiously for the remodeling to be done and see the major collection in its new home. This will be my go to place to take visiting friends to get a feel of California and it's history. We are so lucky to have such a venue free of charge.

My favorite Orange County museum. Possibly my favorite Southern California museum. Their current space is fairly small but they are soon expanding. They have a wonderful collection of California art. We go there every few months to see the new exhibits and visit our old favorites. This is a great place to expose the uninitiated to art. It is not overwhelming and it's always interesting. I leave inspired every time.

This museum has painting that I would put on the walls of my own house. When I toured, the collection had California scenes, old Disney memorabilia and sports. It was enjoyable to read the information on the art.

Liked the art history talk by Jean Stern, Emeritus Director of Irvine Art Museum, about Genre Art. Also liked the Hilbert Collection of California Art. Mark Hilbert seems personable and engaged. Museum management are dynamic and friendly. Sign ups for events are simple, on an excellent web site. Visitors seem to enjoy and appreciate what they are seeing. Parking was not difficult at 6 pm on a Thursday in July. Sorry there are not more similar lectures, eg about abstract expressionism or other sorts of art. Thanks for a fun time.

What a total treat & surprise. Some many California paintings... Quite nice & they plan to grow larger, more space in the future. We spent over 90 minutes enjoying the art work & write ups about each picture..... a hidden gem of a local museum! Please Go see this place! ??????

It will be bad to keep this alone to myself. I came across the best Forex, Crypto and Binary expert ever, in person of Mrs SHEILA BRATTON, who really helped me to invest and managed my trade account. she is very honest and diligent in her work. All I did was invest $1000 and within 7 days he made $6,800 profit for me. You can also invest safely with her and come back to thank me later. there are no hidden charges, and withdrawals are made directly to your bank account. This is a fantastic small art museum -- I've been 4-5 times in the last year. It is free to visit, but you need to register online first. They usually have 4+ exhibits at a time, all by California artists, from fun exhibits from movies and cartoons to historical works to current works by living artists. The docents are excellent, as well. The Hilbert will soon be undergoing a massive expansion. While I'm looking forward to that, go see it NOW, while it's still small.

Wonderful museum that features California artists' works. If you love watercolors, landscape paintings, & California artists, this is the place to be! If you're ever in the Old Towne Orange or by Chapman University, please pay a visit to this wonderful museum. The admission is free too! ***reserve your tickets online tickets.chapman.edu This museum is dedicated by Mr. & Mrs. Hilbert. The coolest part of the museum is that Mr. Hilbert himself will be your docent and tell you the interesting insights about the art works & artists on Thursday mornings (@ 11 a.m.)!! At my time of visit, heard a very good and exciting news for the museum! That this museum will be expanding in size to display more arts! They're going to start construction very soon. In the meantime, the museum will be relocating to a building at the Old Towne Orange Circle temporarily until the completion of their new expansion. So check out the website before you go! This museum is truly an important asset & cultural heritage to this city and people!!
