Unfortunately bought three expensive guns from Fowler Gun Room. I was new into the gun world back then. Now experienced and knowledgeable, these people are scamming newbies. High prices, impractical advice. Search online the price of the guns you want and check out other stores. You'll see what I mean. No honor at Fowler's

Be careful in dealing with these people. I was in need to sell my weapons and they took advantage of that and actually tried to buy them for a tenth of what they're worth. One of these "men" even told me to give him my Smith & Wesson so he can throw it away for me. Just deal with the HONEST business of Turner's Outdoorsman up the street. Ironically, these people were once my customers.

I have always had mixed results when shopping here as the staff is either passive aggressive, snobbish or very polite. I didn't write a review then as I like to support small businesses but feel justified to write this. I highly recommend that if you are looking for a specific gun to look at the other shops before driving here However this is what happened....
Three days ago I called the shop asking for a collectors edition Ruger 10/22. The gentleman over the phone told me he had one in stock and quoted me a price of 390 plus tax and dros. I told him I would be there during the weekend to take a look as I was interested.
Yesterday I went in and a salesman showed me the only two 22's that they had available both of which were not the models I had asked about. I spoke to the salesman and told him about the conversation I had with the gentleman a few days prior which he specifically named. The salesman told me they had to special order the gun as they did not have it in stock. The manager soon came by, looked at the computer, said it would be msrp 430 not including tax and dros, and noted he had no idea who I had spoken to. I then again gave him the specific salesman name and said that I was not only told 390 over the phone but was lied to about being in stock. He then gave me a look said it would be 400 and walked away. I told the salesman I was not interested drove to turners down the street and found the collectors Ruger for 375.
I learned several lessons yesterdays. The first is to stop doing business at Fowlers because they lie about inventory then mark up the prices as they see fit. Second is the passive aggressive attitude that no one needs when shopping.

Between my friend's knowledge & the guys at Fowler I was inundated with knowledge. Special thanks to my friend, Lonnie & Jason for all your help with my first firearm purchase!
