This branch has been great. I was with chase for 10+ years with my personal and business accounts. It is a totally different experience. Every time I call, I get a human and most of them know me by name and my kids. When I was using Chase and Wells I could never really get any help unless i went in person and my bankers were changing every 9-12 months and Id have to start fresh. I've had a few bumps in the road at FMB but they always prioritized me, fixed of the situation, and made me feel cared about. I use several different banks as that it what my businesses need. This is by far the one that takes care of me best

I had pleasant interactions during my first couple of visits to this branch, and during phone calls made to the branch. I went in to inquire about a feature on my account that I was told about by 3 different representatives. Everyone said oh yeah, you have overdraft protection you can go straight to the atm and pull out cash if you ever need it in a pinch. Well, I was in a pinch and this was my last resort. Boy what a mistake.I came to this location to inquire about the feature and how I could utilize it. You should have SEEN this tellers face when I asked her about the feature. She didn’t even look up from her desk, scoffed at me, asked the name of the person who told me about it (as if it didn’t exist), then rolled her eyes and said she had to ask her manager. I watch her go to the manager and he comes to the front counter to speak to me. He proceeds to start SHOUTING at me, FULL VOLUME in the middle of a silent bank, to tell me that I can’t just overdraft my account intentionally and that’s not how these features work - okay IM NOT AN IDIOT !!! I was told by several ppl how “easy” and “convenient “ the feature was and how it’s so “helpful”. What’s not helpful is your reps treating ppl like scum for asking for help that was offered by your company. You don’t have to sit there and mansplain how overdraft protection works to me. I KNOW.I don’t know what was worse: the woman giving me attitude and judgmental looks or the man screaming at me about how broke I am in the middle of the bank. It took everything in me not to cry as I literally RAN out of the location. I don’t think I’ll ever return to this location. What an awful experience for me and for no reason!!! I just asked about something y’all have been shoving down my throat as such a “cool” feature! I was already down bad and here’s your employees just kicking me while I’m down. So thank you F&M for the excruciatingly painful and embarrassing trip today. Really appreciate that. It won’t be forgotten.

This bank and the people that work there are extremely racist and will profile you in such a bad way based on the type of business you operate. Came there to open up a business checking account for my LLC registered Used Car Dealership. After the banker name Alex collected all necessary documents from me and asking me series of questions about operations and me inquiring about how fees on cash deposits because sometimes customers pay cash for cars and since its a larger amounts and I wanted to make sure fees are resealable. He walked away to ask the I am assuming who was his manager whos desk was set up right behind him about fees. The manager who seemed extremely rude and racist looked over and started talking to me cross desks without even introducing himself or have the audacity to walk over to me started saying he doesnt think F &M bank likes doing business with such business set ups such as used car dealerships because there is lots of money laundering and schemes that happen with such businesses then went on to say my file has to be sent to upper management for review and background check. I was in shock by the amount of profiling and criticism I received solely based on my type of business which is well documented and enforced by both DMV licensing and CA TAX and fees Department which get a record of all my sell transactions with full information of the purchaser who we register the vehicle under, process registrations tags and license plates. So for you and this family owned bank's information no its not as easy as you think to do money laundering as a used car dealer. But I decided to remain silent and respect their process which I felt wasnt even standard procedure but solely based on personal judgement and profiling which was very unprofessional. Then I was told they will reach out to me within 24 hours after review and background check has cleared. Then I received a call back from Alex stating because the physical address to my busienss is not an actual lot that they can come and inspect they wont be able to offer me a checking account and told me my type of busienss set up are usually for drug dealing and that was just the icing on the cake. How old fashion narrow minded and stupid these people are. Why dont you people do your research and find out you don't necessarily need a lot. My location has obviously passed licensing requirements with DMV and the city who do regular site inspections to keep business license active. This judgmental bank act like I asked them for a business credit line or something. Never heard of a bank doing site visits to offer a simple checking account. They are pure comedy!!! This bank operates as if it is still the 1900's should have known by the paper application they hand you to fill out. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Needing a service for "international wire transfer" for our business, we were looking for it -only because our credit unit did not offer such important feature to us at this moment. So, Trying to keep our business money on CA banking business, we decide to check on this bank, and stop by the Bixby Knolls branch: in this branch they were unfriendly, and not welcoming. Not reason to do so: not lines for deposits either had 'crowds' wanting to open one new account on this institution. These employees looked: Bored Not overworked. *Before coming, I checked their website to look at the paperwork I was required in order to 'open a business account' on their web, but they are 'so secretive' about standard protocols that they do not tell you in advance. I even called, but again it is "an agent will call you to inform you". They look lazy. Naive me: I was expecting them to provide a friendly service because they are a Regional bank, and according with some analyst these might be in trouble due the late 'increase FED rates'. Now, we are a CHASE member (which gave us $500 as new members.) Surprisingly, Chase's staff were friendly and highly professional... with cheaper fees too for international wires.

What a family friendly bank. It has been established in Orange for years. It believes in providing for all of your financial needs. They have plenty of parking and always have plenty of tellers to assist you.

I've had numerous banks in my life. In my opinion Farmers & Merchants is the best. All of my contacts sigh them have been superb. During the Covid fiasco they helped me negotiate the government funding for my lost wages which was very helpful. They made it very easy for me. I usually use the Orange location. They are always super friendly. Brooklyn recently helped me with some account issues for a nonprofit. She was extremely helpful, friendly and professional. This bank is small enough to care and they really do strive to make you feel like you are appreciated. Not at all like Chase, Bank of the West, BofA, and the likes....their locations suit me also. Happy to have them.

I do work for a guy who is a member of this bank and he normally pairs me with a check. So I come to this branch to cash it because it around the corner from he's office! And the employees in this branch are the nice most welcoming people I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with! Never any problems or difficulties! I'm in and out and the rest of my day is fabulous! Thanks for all your pleasurable service! I look forward to coming in again soon!

On August 19,2021, I called about opening a business account for my organization. I spoke with Matt. He informed me I would need certain qualifying documents to open the account. He said he would send me an email detailing which documents were needed. The email would also facilitate sending him the documents for his review prior to opening an account. Well, I didn't receive the email. So, on August 20,2021, I followed up with a call to the bank. I was informed Matt was not in that day, and was referred to Wendy. She gave me the same information Matt had previously given me. She told me she would send me an email with information required to open the account. She added, if I didn't receive the email to call her . Well, I didn't receive the email. So, during the course of that day, I left two messages for her. To date I haven't received a response. Initial contact with bank was great. However, the follow up was lacking. Time to move on to another financial institution. David L

What a terrible experience I came in with a check written by a client after a painting job and the teller was WAY overly suspicious of me, was very rude and refused to even break a bill that she had just given me. This place sucks.

I moved out of state last year and decided to keep my account with Farmers & Merchants because if their great service. I got married last month and needed to change my name on my accounts. William took my call and did a fantastic job with communicating and being efficient. My name change was immediate. Two weeks later, my new debit card and checks are in hand. I was able to continue using my existing debit card until the new one arrived. How convenient is that! Wow! Thank you William, thank you to the staff at Orange, and thank you Farmers & Merchants for professionalism and superb level of service. I appreciate this so much, especially since I'm 1,400 miles away!

Great bank, William Trevilla is always been very helpful and accommodating. I've opened 3 separate business accounts and 1 personal account with Farmers & Merchants and it was only because of William. If you decide to do business with farmers and merchants I would recommend you ask for William when you go in.

If I could give 10 stars I would!! I cannot say enough about this bank. My small business was going to close because Chase Bank would not even look at our application for the PPP loan. One of my customers told me about Farmers and Merchants Bank so I gave it a shot and called on a Wednesday afternoon. I was greeted by William. He was extremely accommodating. He told me to meet him the following morning at 9am to set up an account. The next morning I was eager to get my account started. When I walked into the bank it felt like home. Everyone in the bank introduced themselves including Matt (the president of this branch). William was so friendly and easy to work with. Finally our account was set up. Ankit gave me easy instructions on how to fill out my PPP application. I was shocked to learn I was approved THE NEXT DAY!! Ankit was great and answered any questions I had regarding my loan. My small business has a chance to survive because of the hard work at Farmers and Merchants Bank. If you're looking for a bank look no further. They make you feel like family!! I am a forever Farmers and Merchants customer. :)

Johanna Sanchez works at the Farmers & Merchants Bank on Katella Avenue in Orange. I spoke with her when I was first considering relocating my accounts. At Farmers & Merchants, you get real customer service, not just a person who wants you to go to an automated machine inside the bank. Johanna's ability to answer all my questions, provide some problem solving when I needed it, and to be so positive and cheerful with the customers is what really sold me on this bank. Plus, I get to see the same wonderful people every time I enter the bank. At my previous bank, although I had been there over 15 years, I had to continually show proof of ID at the teller because the bank employee turnover was so frequent that no one knew who you were. That is not the case at F&M--and people like Johanna has made it worth my while to transfer accounts to this bank.

Tellers and staff always greet you when you come in and say goodbye when you leave. Very friendly staff. The whole family banks with them.
