Top notch tennis program for serious tennis players. Instructors are excellent, grounds are stunning, facilities are well maintained, and location is just a block from downtown Ojai restaurants and shopping.

Everyone that goes to Weil cheats super bad and think that they are the best. They are not even good and are super cocky kids. The coaches allow cheating and i have friends that go there who say the academics are terrible and they let you cheat.

I have spent much money on my kids tennis but would never give this academy $1 coaches that travel/supervise players at tournaments are grossly unprofessional and rude. Don’t let them ruin your kids character or tennis

Weil Tennis Academy is a great place for training as my son has attended there since he was 10 years old. The staff and the coaches really care about the students progress both in tennis and academically. My son loves the food, the intense competitive environment, the awesome coaches, and the camaraderie that the community entails. We are seriously looking into having him attend full time starting next year since we are fully impressed with what they have to offer and what they already have done for my son. Go Lions!

Our son attended Weil Tennis Academy over spring break this year and had great training and experience. Coaches are very professional and offer high level of training. They helped him with technical and tactical aspects of his game as well as with fitness training. Staff was also very professional and kind to answer all questions we had. Thank you !! It was a great experience and we’re looking forward to opportunities to train again at the academy.

Our daughter is spending her junior year of high school at Weil. Her tennis has improved more than we ever imagined, she has made wonderful friends and the Weil team has taken great care of her. We were nervous about our daughter leaving home, but the decision for her to go to Weil was the best possible decision. The Weil Academy is tremendous.

Wow, I never thought I would get myself to write this yet here we are. This review is a warning to anyone even remotely considering this place as an option for their kids. It is the definition of a human assembly line. The " school" is an absolute joke. The kids are not getting an actual education, only methods for how to cheat on important tests/quizzes. The teachers don't even take it seriously either. They will sit there and turn a blind eye while the kids cheat. They only care about them passing, while they work on their tennis skills. This is not good preparation for a legitimate college that will require any kind of work ethic and discipline. The tennis aspect is a bit friendlier. There are actual good coaches here. Muhammad, Charles, they are good guys but under the wing of mark weil, They are forced to make decisions against their best interest. Everything is run through this man. He sees kids as dollar signs, there is no interest towards building any kind of relationships with the kids. Their well beings are second to none, compared to their results in tournaments. They will showcase their best kids and leave the others in the dust. It's an advertising scheme. I know this because I was one of those kids. I performed Average in tournaments and was thus regarded as unimportant. And while the competitive atmosphere is good for players that want to get better, it gets nauseating after a while. Kids accusing kids of cheating, weil players getting bad reps at tournaments, people talking behind others backs, its toxic to say the least. Not to mention the living situations. Oh boy. If you want to experience a highly dysfunctional family system spend 2 weeks at weil. You will not last. When I was there the dorm parents were super weird. The guy was stoned half the time and the woman was this domineering, overbearing, strict Ukrainian woman with a seriously bad attitude! On top of that the food was sup par. We would get super average food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It was tolerable. That's a good word, tolerable. This place put a solid dent in my emotional health during my time as an adolescent teen. Trauma, depression, feeling of inadequacy, low self worth, we're all fueled by this poorly run academy. My roommate and I would talk about leaving, fantasizing about what it would be like being back home. Absolute nightmare. I am so glad I am not there anymore and am at a different stage in my life. God bless.

My son spent a week here during the summer, training and staying in the dorms, and really enjoyed the experience.

Our son was enrolled at Weil for two years, during which time his g.p.a. rose one full grade, his UTR went from mid-7 to 11, and his SAT went up over 400 points (seriously). He now plays D3 at Redlands w/ a great academic scholarship. He thought Weil was a lot of work but now appreciates it all the more. (Still complains about the food there though!) Mark Weil has put together a great team. Coaches are terrific, classes are small with teachers attuned to individual needs, and Head of School Varre Cummins is an amazing problem-solver and administrator.

Terrible. The academics are supbar and our daughter and many of her friends struggled early on in college because of it..they will push your kid to "commit" to college in the fall so they can advertise it but I would HIGHLY encourage you not to succumb to the pressure and have your kids make their decision when they are comfortable. The athletic facilities are nice, but everything else is subpar. Nasty dorms, and more importantly, poor nutrition for a place that is claims to "have it ALL"

Best tennis camp we have had compared to other brand names in California. My son loved it!!! This spring break camp is so good that he even wants to apply for the actual academy.Training: the coaches are strict and have a good teaching methodology. They have a wholistic approach which includes highly effective physical training besides tennis technique training. He would rate the rigor of this camp at 5 while others at 3.5.Service: Karen the front desk lady went above and beyond in accommodating our needs. Amtrak won’t let us buy unaccompanied minor train ticket, Karen offered to bring my son into their academy trip to LA so we can pick him up mid way between us. Her customer service level is exceptional.I will add more later if I have more info from my son.Thank you everyone at Weil! We will be back for camps for sure!
