We stopped in to pick up a few supplies for camping like firewood and propane. This is our second time picking things up from the store. Everyone at the store was so helpful and nice. It was a great experience.

I love the home town crew here, they help w/o pouring on the saccharine and kissing up. Knowledgable and courteous, and willing to go the extra mile as needed, like carrying heavy items to your car. I would also think twice about pointing the finger at some one who works there/anywhere; perhaps your entitled attitude turns off shop keepers, Jake; ever thought about that? Alternatively, perhaps there just isn’t always a manager there to talk to (I take issue with the whiny Australian who jumped to the wrong conclusion about one of the staff at True Value in Ojai!)

I went in today 17th of November 2023 and spoke to the rudest lady at the counter. I asked if I could see a manager to speak to them about a product and she said no. I asked if there was an email or number to set up a meeting for next time and she said no. I think because I have an Australian accent she was not interested. She should be sacked.

I have been in this store before and was quite amazed on the variety of stuff they have, I’m specially thankful and excited for the small but great little gun/hunting counter they have, the last visit renewed my hunting license there and purchased deer tags for A zone and D13 zone, that was pretty cool to be able to do that their, but todays visit was great, I went in to purchase ammo which I had already tried to do at Big 5 but was denied, I was pretty sure the lady at Big 5 had made a mistake on putting my information into the DOJ computer, which is the only reason I could be denied for purchasing ammo, I let the true value worker (which I’m pretty sure was the owner) know that I had been denied at Big 5 and he took one look at my drivers license and knew the mistake the lady at Big 5 had made, I purchase my ammo at tru value no problem, thank you True Value

It was Labor Day weekend, we are 200 miles from home and my child's braces broke while eating lunch. We tried everything but we could not get the wire out. Called her orthodontist and she said to go to a hardware store and purchase a pair of wire cutters. Sanitize them really well and then we should be able to cut them for her to go about her holiday weekend without wire poking holes in her gums.With the help of Yelp, we were able to locate a True Value Hardware a few minutes drive from where we were dining. Upon entering the store, we were immediately greeted and he asked us what we were looking for. We explained our situation and he walked us to the area where there was a wall of wire cutters. Unfortunately, we could not find one that would be able to cut through the wire but he and another gentleman did everything they could to help us find a solution to help my little one. We left empty handed but really appreciated the help and time the team here dedicated to helping us. We really appreciated it. Thankfully, later that evening and several long hours later, we were able to get the wire out without the need of tools.

They don't get especially happy when I work on my mobility assistance device in the parking lot but they've got good spirits and good hearts and seem to truly try to the best of their ability to satisfy the needs of the community

This time I needed to seek advice from the OTHER hardware chain in Ojai. I was glad to have patronized the both. Monopoly sux! Only True Value had a "magnetizer" for screwdriver tips (to ease small screws into tight places)
