$32 for parking in their own garage, really? Also, even though the hotel is only 1 block off the beach, there is a large apartment/condo building blocking the view of most rooms. If you get a room on the east side of the hotel, be ready for all of the noise associated with the roller coaster trains that run right behind the hotel. Amenities were first rate. Loved the rooftop pool/hot tub.

We’ve stayed here probably three about 20 times over the past 10 years and it’s been a decent experience overall. This hotel has an okay breakfast and it’s walking distance to everything. The parking is ridiculously overpriced the staff is hit and miss depends who you get. There is not much complementary offerings as it used to be and everything is just ridiculously overpriced including the rooms.

Used to be great. Higher price for better service - but it’s worse. As a Marriott Ambassador Elite, I used to like to stay here. But, with the new owners, they’ve tripple the average price, eliminated the veteran’s discount, don’t take care of the property (broken elevator multiple times, etc.), added hidden fees, and the staff (which used to be incredible), has been rude the last couple of times I’ve been in contact with them. If they treat me, a loyal customer this way, I can only imagine how they treat others. Never could get a reply from them about issues.

The photos of the views are super deceiving — there is absolutely no chance of an ocean breeze or sound or view unless you specify the “partial view” balcony option, which is also street side so it’s still not really appealing. All you see is the Sea Bird; honestly, you should just stay there. The rooftop hot tub is also smaller than it seems. Overall just disappointed.

This hotel was in a great location very close to the beach, the problem with the hotel is one of the elevators was broken the entire time we stayed. The staff was ok, but I would have loved to see them resolve the elevator situation sooner. The hotel room was nice and clean. I would recommend calling before staying to ensure elevator is working.
Rooms: The room was clean and modern. Very spacious.
Safety: Oceanside police was constantly visible and seemed like a safe location.
Walkability: One block from the beach piers and restaurants

Great place to stay. Close to everything and the rooms are quite large, very clean, and very comfortable beds.
Rooms: Large and comfy.
Nearby activities: The top gun house and boardwalk.
Walkability: Close to everything you would want to go to.
Food and drinks: Nearby great restaurants and bars.

beware: you have to pay $32/night to SELF PARK YOUR OWN CAR. you can park on the street but street parking in downtown Oside is limited or metered, and street cleaning often affects when you can park on the street. I will never stay here again, for this reason. fine if you want to take away the valet service but don't make me pay to park my own car.
also found a clearly visible hair in the sink which was just gross.

Location is the best if you are looking to visit the beach and have some pier time with great food. the rooms were clean the I felt safe! The parking wasn’t packed and the pool was the kids favorite area! Lil slice of so-cal vaca. The best part is the breakfast!! The best waffle bar, everyone in the family has lil favorites and they had all of them oatmeal bagels waffles eggs oh my! Staff was very helpful and kind it made us feel good to speak to them and ask questions. Will be coming back again soon this might be one of our regular spots
Rooms: Rooms were upgraded and have the latest features cool desk with a glass door to close of the area while working as to not disturb the family with on vaca. Beds were comfortable, the alarm was easy to used, the hair blower dryer was clean and worked well. The shampoo and conditioner was good quality.
Nearby activities: You have the beach, the pier, the playground in the beach, great food, souvenir shops, local restaurants and bars, beach rentals
Safety: Safe area we felt comfortable walking around, the parking area is well lite the stairs done seem scary just felt welcomed and secure walking the perimeter of the property and the exterior.
Walkability: You have everything with in walking distance great food, the beach is literally a block away, kids are welcomed there’s a playground on the beach
Food and drinks: Good good, the drinks were good and the live music is pleasant while having a bite and watching the sunset
Noteworthy details: The views from the roof tops are great and the live music was amazing while next to the fire and the kiddos playing cornhole.

I like this place very much, it's clean and conveniently located in downtown Oceanside.
The crew is great and very relaxed.
It's a good place for kids.
There is a rooftop pool, gym, and nice hangout areas.
You can have a great and relaxing time vacationing.
Nearby activities: It's in a great location, in Oceanside downtown, you have access to all stores, restaurants, and entertainment areas.
Walkability: The beach and the pier are 1 block away, parking is next door, or you can use the underground hotel parking.
It's very convenient.
Noteworthy details: There is a terrace on the second floor.
It's very nice, closes late, and you can spend some relaxing time by the fireplace.
On the terrace, there is also a bar with live music sometime on the weekends. It can get loud until 9-10 pm
The doors and windows are soundproof, so it's fairly decent.

Don't expect to use the elevator. One is broken and doesn't go to the parking garage. The other is so incredibly slow it's embarrassing.

Overall ok, but wouldn’t stay again. Only 1 lift was working, so waiting for the lift took a long time.
You can’t get your bags to & from the underground parking, have to use the stairs.
Parking is charged at $32 usd a night!! They should discount this at least, it’s absolutely ridiculous.
Our room was right on the train tracks, it wasn’t too bad but would recommend another room if you’re a light sleeper.
We had 2 beds and one had stains/marks on the top blanket.
Bathroom was average.. pretty old school and rooms need a good modern renovation.
Will be interesting to see how long it takes them to repair the lift!!
Stayed in many other Marriotts and this one is not great at all.
Staff were friendly at least!
Walkability: Very close to the beach, restaurants, pier etc

My new favorite hotel, employees were awesome, you can get water everywhere, and they have a 2-hour free breakfast where you can eat just about anything you can think of!☺️ One of the elevators was out during our stay and it was the only bad thing about our stay there and I hope they have both of them up and running now. ??
Rooms: Nice size rooms and bathrooms

Pros:
-My room was generally clean and well-appointed, with mini fridge and microwave
-Breakfast included with stay.
-It's very close to the beach - like a 3 minute walk (if that) away and just a little further in the other direction to restaurants and other things to do.
Cons:
-It is right next to the train tracks, so if you are a light/sensitive sleeper, make sure you are on a higher floor and on the other side of the tracks. I didn't find it too noticeable during the day, but it is MUCH louder at night. I wear earplugs and am a heavier sleeper, so it didn't bother me too much, but it was definitely noticeable
-My 2nd floor room had great AC, but the hallway felt like it had none
-There are only 2 elevators, and one of them was down, so it took FOREVER to get anywhere with them
-I came during a large conference, and this was the overflow hotel, but the staff seemed somewhat unprepared and definitely understaffed (this is a management issue). All staff were nice, but there just wasn't enough of them. Since I was walking between three hotels on one block all week, the difference between the staff was very noticeable

The rooftop is epic!
