I took a group of nephews in which he customized a beginner's gun handling class, which included range time. They all absolutely loved the class! They all left with a great gun safety and handling foundation. I highly recommend his training.

I want to thank Mr. McLaren for his hard work and expertise in his field. I attended one of his classes and he was knowledgeable, patient, kind, and informative. I also cross shopped his prices with some competition and his were much better. Highly recommend!

I learned a ton from this class and I really liked his mindset about CCW. Very sensible instruction and a very likeable guy. I’d recommend him for anyone and learned a ton even though I’ve been shooting my whole life and competing for about a decade of that.

Bill has a teaching style that takes what could be a boring day of drudgery and makes it interesting and keeps your attention. The required full day CCW class was enjoyable, informative and easy to get through. The range portion was done Iron Sights, and was handled by Moose, who knows what he's doing. Enjoyed it enough, I've already signed up for the next recommended class.

I have used Mclaren for my initial CCW training and now for my renewal. They are fantastic! Bill was my instructor initially and Dave gave me my certification for my renewal. Both were fantastic and went above and beyond to not only get you trained well enough to be safe and responsible with your firearm for your CCW but also gave additional education, training, or information to allow you to further enhance your skills and knowledge. They care about their students being safe and well trained in order to protect themselves as well as anybody else they may be around with their firearm. They take it very seriously and it is fantastic to know they are helping to make sure those that decide to carry are adequately trained to be able to do so as safely as possible.Keep up the great work!

I recently completed the initial CCW training class with Bill McLaren. As a retired Fire Battalion Chief and state Certified Instructor, I can wholeheartedly without reservation tell you that Bill is an excellent instructor. You are not simply "checking the box" when you attend one of his classes. You are buying his experience, expertise and excellent advice on self defense. I look forward to attending additional training that he offers. Money well spent and an excellent experience.

Today I took the class, it was my 1st time for my CCW class. I was nervous because I hate tests, I have been studying the last few months but not shooting as much as I should. William Mclaren was very thorough and explained any questions that were asked. The class did not feel to serious but was serious enough to make sure you knew if you passed your taking on a responsibility that can alter your life and others.I was very happy to take the class. I learned way more than I thought I would, the class made me understand the responsibility I wanted to exercise in my 2nd amendment.The whole time I kept thinking even though I may ha e the ability to own and ccw my firearm that I would still rather lean on my MMA /Jiu Jitsu skills before reaching for my gun.I look forward to renewing my license with this same instructor and taking the class to add additional pistols to my ccw license.Thank you for the class and education.Ralph

Informative, educational, useful and fun ! Bill is excellent instructor and keeps you interested in all topics discussed and his extensive experience just adds to quality of instruction. Also want to extend kudos to “ MOOSE “ who conducted the range portion of class. A very likable, helpful and thorough addition to experience . Would highly recommend to anyone looking for instruction in any/all aspects of firearms training !

The class was helpful and qualified me for my ccw permit that I received from the San Diego County Sheriff. Expect long processing times at the county, nearly one year.

Bill definitely knows how to teach a class on this stuff. Not only is he well versed on the legalities of owning a CCW, he knows firearms and knows how to shoot. He pointed out several bad habits I’ve developed that has kept me back on shooting tight groups. I’ll take the knowledge he gave me to the range and exercise it.I’d recommend this class to anyone wanting to qualify for a CCW , firearms safety, and anyone who wants to get better on the gun.
