Call these place and said they have the tire I’m looking and drive right away and the guy said “oh sorry I thought we have” he even told me to hold and went to look make sure they have.never trust these guys.

This place should be called HAL’S AUTO SCAM! The good reviews are bought and fake! This is the worst auto repair shop and a disgrace to Oceanside. Johnny the receptionist is rude and condescending! They quote you for a certain amount of time and take twice as long. Hal’s auto tried to charge me $5000 for a job that they did not even do correctly, and after going to a different mechanic, I got the same thing for $1000 and they actually did a good job.

I went in there and had my tire patched up. I had to crack my neck and relax my hands when the cost was $75. I was a little bit turned off with the customer service, but I know how to control my anger. I made sure I gave the worker my thanks.

Went in for an alignment and came out with bald tires, a worse alignment, and no compensation for any new tires. If I could give zero stars I would. The accountability at this place is the same level as a toddler.
I came into this place about a month ago to get an alignment since my truck is pulling to the left. I get it back 3 hours later to find out it still pulls, if not more! So I call and go back and get it “fixed”
(I’d find out in about a month that it was worth than the first alignment).
I left that day and it didn’t pull, so everything seemed fine, except when I would hit turns it would shake and when I was in parking lots with smoother asphalt it would screech when I’d turn. I thought it was the BRAND NEW TIRES I got a few days before the alignment just being new rubber, so I didn’t think much of it. Especially since I thought two alignments was enough.
Fast forward a month later my friend hops out of the truck and asks weren’t these the brand new tires I just got. I said yes and came over to look at them and see this (pictures below)
Being pissed and wanting a refund I call and talk to the manager who tells me he will give me a refund on the alignment but no new tires because it’s “not their fault”
If I knew this I would’ve just gone to Firestone or somewhere where they care more. Waste of time and money.
The pictures below are the tires and the other picture is when I got everything aligned at Firestone AFTER the two alignments at Hal’s
Also I checked all their other bad reviews has them saying “I don’t have you in our system your not our customer” so I’m waiting for their unaccountable response down below. ⬇️

Charged me $600 to diagnose an engine code and offered, when I asked what they proposed as a solution, I was offered no real solution other than turning off check engine light. That's the entire reason I came in to begin!!! When I asked to speak to the owner about my concerns the guy working at the front desk was so arrogant and rude, he pretty much told me that his word was law and not to bother. I WONT be back.

I have trusted these gentleman with all of my vehicles foreign and domestic for 8 years now. They are always fair and honest about pricing. No up sales or extra charges. Very quick turnaround on parts. They are also willing to get as in depth as you want about what needs repaired and why!

THIS PLACE IS A SCAM!! We bought our car battery from them last year and it already died completely. So we went to have them honor the 5 year warranty and they said “sorry we can’t find you in our system” and then told us they don’t even sell that battery brand. Completely ridiculous. Do not go here. This is how they their treat military/veteran customers.

Such a great experience from here. I have a 2015 Scion TC. Toyota. My check engine light came on and he asked me a few questions. Instead of immediately telling me how much it was going to be, he asked me to bring my car into bay 3 and he would reset it for me and said he would start off with replacing the battery first. The code read ECM module. It cleared, I turned it on a few times and the check engine remains off. My car has always runs great, makes sense me doing a few electrical things to my car and that might have been the reason behind the code. Hal's is one of the best mechanics I have ever had. The prices are extremely reasonable. The workmanship is excellent. Hal, himself, is very warm and friendly. Johnny is helpful and makes sure everything has been taken care of correctly. Jordan and Wayne are excellent mechanics. I highly recommend bringing your vehicle to Hal's.

Smog check review with Groupon. I bought a $25 Groupon for smog check. Called and made an appointment. I got there and they told me about 45 minutes... and it was done in that time. Like all smog pricing does not include $10 - $8.25 for certificate and $1.75 for transmission. They have a waiting room with comfy couches and a TV. I have not had anything else done there so this is only for smog check...

They fixed my car soooo fast & gave me a very fair price! I am thankful that the headache of my car breaking down was accomplished quick & professional by them! Towed it to Hal's after hours & got it back by noon the next day!!! Thanks so much!
