This place gave me a chance when the bank I've been with since I was 6 (Chase, which was Wamu, which was Great Western) wouldn't help me get a car loan. For my second loan in 2021, not only was I pre-approved, my rate was around 2%. At that time, I didn't have two big dogs to zip around town, and I chose a little car. I have been wanting an SUV or truck for them, and the heavy rains we've had lately made the desire more urgent. I had a lot of business to take care of when I checked in; it just so happens the employee managing the front desk would also be my loan officer, online account un-locker, and new account opener for my fiancé. Paola was great! She explained exactly what I needed to do when I got to the car lots, and even gave me KBB info on the car I was trading in. While she warned me I'd have to wait on getting a check cut, I actually left with one as I was still pre-approved. There was a sense of empowerment I felt when car shopping with a check and all the information she gave me. I am forever going to be loyal to this business for any loan I'll want to open. I do have two accounts and a credit card that I honestly don't use (navigating the website to move money around was a pain but Paola informed me the format is changing soon). Pros: - customer service! - 50$ referral for bringing in new customers - straightforward loan services - Cons: - unlocking accounts is difficult - security alerts would block me from using my debit card... how embarrassing

I just ended a phone call with Brooklyn at the Marron Rd. Branch. She was extremely helpful, kind and courteous while helping me figure out the external transfer process. I can sleep stress free tonight ?. Mahalo nui loa, Brooklyn!!

Keep a close eye on anything you make payments for through this branch. I have caught them in multiple lies and have had to show them their own records, whoops is not an excuse and the attitude is ridiculous

Dont even bother with a referral nd if u do make sure to triple check u get all the details. I referred my sister over she opened a loan and an act but because we didnt triple check on it 2 months later they said we don't get the referral perks because we didn't check up sooner! Which is ridiculous because why would I be doing their job for them! When we asked what the problem was, why couldn't we move the referral forward they said whoever helped my referral made a savings account instead of checking account nd again my referral should have made sure they made the correct kind of account sounds like a-lot of lazy work! I have 2 loans with them and constantly get emails pushing for referrals but all we got at the end was a thanks for the referral! I don't understand what the big deal is and why we cant get the perks of the referral. They don't care to take care of their customers! Ive also had where they triple charge the amount of my loan payments and say i authorized that amount now i have to triple check as well that the correct amount is being charged every month. Not cool! Im sure the hire ups wouldn't be happy with the service their employees are giving customers they say the calls are being monitored i really hope they are so everyone can get proper training!

They asked 3 questions and denied my loan request…They asked MY income, Household rent, and My social security number…Thanks a lot Sara for doing the absolute bare minimum to get me a loan...So obviously you should just go online and do it yourself. These people dont care. BTW, got approved elsewhere within 3 minutes...slighly higher apr, because i now have an aditional inquiry and loan denial from CalCoastCredit

I recently opened a new account at CALCOAST Credit Union. A very helpful and caring young man helped me! His name is Javier Pena at the Marron Rd branch. I am a senior with mobility issues and my son helped me with my manual wheelchair. I had a need to return several days later, and again, he was most kind and helpful! I would recommend him to all!

We had a car loan which we paid off early. I sent a payment that was $19.00 over our balance to cover any additional interest. Instead of sending me a check for the overage Cal Coast scarfed up the money and put it into a savings account. On my first statement they deducted a $5.00 service fee. That's over 25%! After waiting on the phone for a long time, the representative told me there would be a $5.00 withdrawal every month for any balance under $50.00. Now I have to find a branch and personally sign to close the account. Or, I can send a written request and hope someone reads it before another $5.00 withdrawal is made. I will never do business with this bank again!
