Hayashi Vegetable Stand is a really cute place directly on highway one near several farms in the five cities area. It is open daily from 10am to 5:30pm and has parking out front. The space is small, yet clean and well stocked with a good selection of absolutely great fruits and vegetables. The produce is fresh and phresh. They are known for their fabulous strawberries and flowers, and also have raspberries, blueberries, and avocados. They carry everything from dressings and vinaigrettes to homemade jams, jellies, preserves, organic nuts, several kinds of honey, and phresh vegetables, including a highly recommended vidalia onion mustard. Prices are reasonable, much better than your local grocer or Vons, offering more bang for your buck. Fruit baskets start at $4 and avocados are under $2. The staff is very polite. Being in a heavy Latino community, most workers speak mostly Spanish, so it is best to practice simple Spanish phrases to interact. It is highly recommended as the best place to get fruits and vegetables locally on the central coast for healthy snacks that don't cost an arm and a leg. They also vend at San Luis Obispo's farmer's market on Thursday evenings from 6pm-9pm.
Just an absolutely phenomenal place for fresh fruits and vegetables as well. Also, the employees there are more than willing to help you and answer any questions you might have. A++++++

Terrific little market with only the freshest produce from the area and beyond. Wide selection of fruit and veggies plus specialty dressings, sauces, marinades, picked and olives. Very reasonable prices!
