My beautiful best friend Chihuahua passed away a little more than five years ago, and they misspelled his name on his urn. It's been bothering me for five years but that's the only thing that I can complain about. Everything else here is great and I continue to bring my dogs here. They are right around the corner from my house and I always recommend them.

I really did not want to leave a negative review. I am giving 2 stars simply because the staff is friendly and I have not seen Dr. April so I can't actually say anything positive or negative about the Dr. That is where my problem lays. On December 22nd I called to make an appointment for my dog. I explained that he has a severe rash/hives all over his body and has for a couple weeks now. I told them nothing has changed as far as his environment, food, laundry soap, bathing ect. I also informed them he has had benadryl consistently for 4 days with no improvement. I was very specific that I wanted an exam and biopsy to get to the route of the problem as he has had a staph infection in the past from a previous surgery which was treated by Dr. Dilly. I was scheduled for 12/26 at 10am. Which I was very pleased that I could get in so soon. They also reccomended I come in and purchase a wash and some anti itch medication. I ended up purchasing the apoquil but not the wash. By the 2nd dose of apoquil my dog was vomiting and having diarrhea constantly so I discontinued the meds and those issues became a bit better. On the 26th I brought him in thinking I would see Dr. April I did not we were seen by a fill in vet. This woman wanted to prescribe a different wash and a different medication. I informed her I did not want to play a guessing game and spend hundreds of dollars until we got it right. I also did not want my dog to continue to be sick and miserable. I explained that I wanted a biopsy and that is what I requested when I booked the appointment. She stated she was just filling in and could not do a biopsy. She said someone would call me the next day to schedule. Needless to say I was frustrated because I paid for an exam with absolutely no resolve. Today is now 1/3 and I have yet to receive a call to schedule a biopsy or follow up. My dog still has horrible hives, vomiting and diarrhea. He has been on a bland diet for over a week. I have had issues with scheduling appointments and not getting what I've requested in the past. I have had it, this is an innocent animal that can not tell me what is wrong and these people just do not listen to your concerns. If you want someone to listen to your pets needs and actually help them this is not the place for you. They're probably fantastic for an animal with no issues just needing a wellness exam but other then that don't waste your time.

We have an older dog and when we moved out this way we did not have a vet for him. About a year+ ago he had an spot on his hind leg that started bleeding/oozing. I called a few local vets and no one would see him or they weren't taking new clients. I made a call to Cypress in Oakley and they set up an appt. for me. I was so grateful that they would see him. The staff was great and Dr. April was wonderful !!!! She explained what was going on with our dog and what needed to be done. He ended up having to have surgery. He did very well and I can't say enough about the staff and Dr. April. We recently adopted another pup and she is also a client at Cypress. They really care and try to help you take care of your pets without trying to sell you things you don't need. It is worth the 25-30 minute drive for our family to have peace of mind that they are getting the best care!

They were so sweet with my new puppy. They were enamored with her and took great care of her. I've never had a puppy and they answered all my basic questions and gave advice.

VCA Cypress has the best customer service and best professionals. I have taken my dog and cats there for a while already and they always go above and beyond doing everything they can to help us. All the staff is excellent, very respectful, compassionate and knowledgeable not only dealing with us and our animals in the best way but also taking time to educate us and showing us how to do some of the procedures at home. They are constantly following up with us regarding the treatments, even in late hours when needed. The work they are doing is remarkable and impossible to describe in just a few words. We will be always glad to have wonderful people like them around us. Respectfully, I would like to say a special thank you to Linda, Debbra and Dr April Ervin as they are directly working with us. Their empathy makes VCA Cypress to be so unique. You guys rock!

I really loved my first few visits at this clinic. I brought 2 of my dogs who needed some care and Dr Chiang was amazing! But she left the clinic and thats when things changed for me. I once came in late to an appt by 8min and was told I had to reschedule. The day of my rescheduling I arrived on time and waited over 20min in a room before the tech came in to ask me what the chief complaint of my visit was and then waited another 10 for the vet. How is that ok vs my 8min? Another time i tried to respond to their text message alert to confirm my appt. Assuming all was well I get a text 15min before my appt saying its been canceled. I called the clinic to see what happened and they responded "we tried to call you". Ok so the text message doesn't count and the call does? I wanted to like this place but its too much of a hassle. If you are reading this and you decide to go I hope you have a different experience.

After moving it was difficult to find a new vet for my two kitties especially during this pandemic. I'm glad I found VCA Cypress because I can tell that they are invested in the care of animals. I wish I had found them sooner. I am confident that my pets are receiving excellent care which is such a relief.

My cat was a first time patient to this hospital one week before we had to put him to sleep. These people treated me, my cat Sammy and my whole family just like family. Putting Sammy to sleep was a devastating day and we felt like we were home. Everyone was super sweet. After a week I received a card with his paw and nose prints along with a card. Everyone had written a personal note and I loved it. What a caring place. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I highly recommend them.

I have a French bulldog .. and last appointment, you know - they did a physical, a check up,as well as having our question/ concern addressed (regarding his lungs for he has a lot of phlegm that in turn causes him to struggle to breath)... and the vet said that he's fine, his heart and lungs sound perfect , in excellent shape and all... However ... 3 days later, here we go to ER for he is having a hard time breathing, gums and tongue turned blueish purple , and he was administered oxygen , had some X-rays and blood work done.... Final results... pneumonia... poor boy is struggling... we are doing everything we can... So yea,.. he's " fine... in excellent shape " ?! Huh ??!!

When I called to book an appointment, I was received by a cheerful person. When I arrived, everyone was cheerful and nice. The cleaning appointment was booked out 3 months and I had to wait a couple of weeks for the consultation. I wish I did not have to wait but I can understand why. A business is a business and they can only do so much. With good service/employee, personal recommendations = increase business. They are also in the process of hiring a new vet to help accommodate us. They do have a cancellation list that you can move your appointment but I am doubtful since business is so good. $68 for wellness check, approximately $400 for senior complete panel blood work and the estimate is $1,500 to $2,000 for the entire process. I think this is to accommodate any tooth removal but was reassured that I will get a call first. Because of the age of my dog and my concern with the anesthesia, the vet told me about alternate option of holistic cleaning ( which they do not do). I appreciate the alternate suggestion. Pet care is expensive. They also have a really old 18 year old employee pet that comes to the hospital. Look for him when you visit. It is an honor to see old dogs. I am sure I might be able to find a less expensive place but I don't know if I want to deal with not so friendly staff or environment. I will give another update on the cleaning in a couple of months.

I have been bringing my dog here for years. My dog is now 14 and has a uti. I called to see if they could order antibiotics and I was told "No, she needs an evaluation since it has been over a year". No appointments for 2 weeks. I explain that an untreated uti in elderly dogs can be dangerous. Asked if they could order her antibiotics and I can bring her in when they have an appointment and was told "No". They told me to call other vets to see if she can be seen? I'm not asking for narcotics for my dog just a simple antibiotic and they are unwilling to accommodate patients due to their lack of appointments.

I love this vet! They are so great with my pup! Dr. Dilley is wonderful with my pet and it puts me at ease since I'm always so nervous! Front office staff are super friendly and helpful as well. Highly recommend. Even though I don't like going to the vet I love the people there and the care we receive!

Once we heard Dr. DeCosta was no longer the owner or working here, we decided to return to Cypress and try again. We love the vets! They are so knowledgeable and friendly. We're happy to be customers at Cypress again.

I've been coming to this vet for my two cats and dog for the past 9 years. Over the past two years it's been increasingly hard to make appointments when something is wrong with one of my animals. Time after time I get told "we don't have availability to see (insert animal)." It's extremely frustrating when you have a very sick animal and you have to wait a week or even two weeks to be seen. The service and office staff has always been great, but with an older dog and a cat that tends to keep us on our toes, I need a vet that has availability. Today I called to have my cat seen who has been throwing up for two days straight and is lethargic and won't eat or drink. He also won't let me touch his ears and keeps shaking his head. I was told to take my animal to the animal ER or call around to other vets. I'm beginning to think I may need to find another office to take my animals to because I can't depend on this one anymore. It's a shame since I've had nothing but good things to say in the past. I believe some appointments need to be kept open for animals who may need to be seen same day. We pay thousands of dollars a year in medications for our dog, special food for the cat and numerous visits to be cast off when we need them the most.

Cypress Animal Hospital is a great place! I took my 5 month old kitten in for a swollen abdomen. Since we're living through the Pandemic right now, I was greeted in my car by a vet tech. She was really friendly and explained, very well, what I could expect during the appointment. I handed Charlie over and received a phone call about 15 minutes later from Dr Whitaker. He let me know what he thought was happening with my little guy and reviewed my options with me as far as testing, etc. I left and waited at home for a call back. Dr Whitaker called about an hour later and discussed his findings with me. I arrived a little later to pick-up Charlie. On my drive to the vet I forgot to ask Dr Whitaker something. I let the vet tech know I had another question and she said the doctor would call me. Within 15 minutes of picking Charlie up, Dr Whitaker called back to answer my question. The next morning Dr Dilley called to check in on Charlie. I am impressed with the care and time they took with Charlie and with me. Charlie is a lifer with Cypress Animal Hospital!
