I needed another mechanic, because my regular mechanic had two strokes. My car battery was being drained daily, so I took it to Al. He found the problem quickly, and that made my day. I would definitely recommend him. I'll be back, Al.

At first I thought he was a honest guy but second time I came around I knew he upcharges on basic maintenance and takes advantage of people, my fuel injectors and spark plugs went bad and he charged me 800 dollars for parts and labor and 3-4 months pass by and I guess It needed to be changed again so this time I went to my father in laws mechanic and he only charged me 300 and that’s with the parts and labor, don’t go to this guy if your financially unstable and want a “honest” fix because he is anything but honest if I could leave 0 stars I would …

We came in from out of town and our vehicle needed a thermostat. we tried to get seen but all of the auto shops were busy in the area Even tho Al's shop was busy they made time for us and got us back on the road.Thank you so much.

Went to Al for an oil leak. I was quoted $1700-$1800. Not a bad price for a rear main seal leak, so I agreed. He told me when to bring it in. I got there and turns out he didn’t have the time that week, told me to bring it the following week. I brought it the following week and he wasn’t there. Dropped my car off with his associate. 5 or 6 days went by and I didn’t hear anything. I called and turns out he didn’t work on it. Told me to bring it back a couple weeks later. I was pretty frustrated since I already paid him $175 for the service before hand. I dropped the car off before I went on vacation. He had it for 10 days. When I went to pick the car, the price magically increased by $600. Out the door I paid 2,400. Terrible communicator. When I picked up the car an engine light came on due to a misfire. He said “I’ll help you out if you buy the parts” I bought the parts and he wouldn’t return my calls.
Good luck with this guy, he seems nice but will take advantage of you.

We came to Al's Auto Repair when our former mechanic couldn't work on our VW Jetta. Al has worked on several of our cars and is a total professional every time. He is quick to answer the phone, responds quickly to messages, and is willing to discuss available options. We trust him with all our cars ! Just picked up my CRV today, after dropping it off this morning and I'm loving how well it drives. Al replaced both axles in just a few hours and I'm back on the road again !

O...M....G....I was stuck in a bind pretty bad. My car died and I just moved to the area. I don't know anyone. I started calling local mechanics in my area asking if someone could look at my car. I had a suspicion that it was my alternator. I just bought a new battery for it, and it would keep its charge long enough to drive to a mechanic. I called another place and they said they couldn't look at it until next week. I was leaving town and my family would be out of a vehicle all week, so I needed ro get it fixed now. So I called AL'S.He told me to bring it by and he'd check the alternator. As soon as I get there he hooks it up and shows me that yes in fact my alternator is dead and not charging. I asked him when could he fix it...and he said TODAY!!!! what??? FOR REAL????? AMAZING!!!!! OMG I WAS SO HAPPY. He fixed it AND replaced the belt for me!!! WHAT SERVICE!!!! he's now my new mechanic!!! Thank you SO much for helping me!!! :)

They found the problem on my chrysler t&c, others didn't want to diagnose or fix. Will definitely go back. Also works on some old schools. Just be patient, guaranteed great work!

This is the second time we've visited Al's. He did great work on my Durango a few mo the ago, so it was a no brainer when our Honda had lights popping up in the dash and it pulled a transmission code. We dropped the car off at about 2:00 and he said he'd look at it and give us a call. Around 4:00 we got a call that it was done! Apparently, we had a ground squirrel issue (thanks City of Oakley for not controlling your park squirrels) and it chewed through some wires. Al cleaned it up and got the wiring fixed at a fraction of what a dealer would have cost. And, he explains everything to you patiently and kindly. Al's shop is the best and I will (and have) sent everyone here since I discovered them! :)

Amazing Mechanic. Take all our family cars and even bought one from him. Very reasonable pricing and will always try to get you in and out as fast as he can. Even when he was going on a vacation he worked overnight to fix our car. Definitely recommend!!

I needed to get the headlights on my 2019 Hybrid replaced. I couldn't change them out myself. Even the owners manual directed me to the dealership for headlight replacement. What?! So I finally decided to call around to find someplace that could do it. Most places were booked out for a few weeks to up to a couple months! Anyway, I got through to Al and he had me come in less than a week later. Long story short, he took care of the replacement, which is not that easy to do, even for him. Al is a very good mechanic. He was persistent, knowledgeable and resourceful. He is pretty informal and that might not be for everyone, but I'm definitely coming back for any other car needs. Bottom line, he got my issue resolved in an hour. (I did have to pay cash only, so that was the only minor inconvenience. I don't know if he requires that from everyone or not or just from first time customers. )
