This is the first time using this rental car provider and probably my last. I just got in line and the service representative seems to be spending more time joking around with customers than actually working. It's now been 30 minutes, am still 3rd in line and have seen many people come and go over at Hertz and Alimo. Ugh, this place is a joke. I totally get being friendly and am very open to good customer service but damn dude, get some work done too.

Reserved a car three weeks prior to getting here. Once here, "we don't have any vehicles." I asked when a vehicle might be ready, "I have no idea." I said, "But we made a reservation and have a reservation at Alcatraz in an hour for my family of six" To which he said, "sorry, nothing I can do. If you don't like it, we can void your contract." They obviously don't care, as they show absolutely no concern for their guests. DO NOT RENT HERE!!!! What's more is they're still renting cars out to the huge line of people when the don't have any cars?!? I feel like it's should be called "Gaslighting Car Rentals," because I feel like they're trying to make it out like it's my fault!!! What in actual F?!

Avoid this rental area at all costs it is not worth spending 100s of dollars because these mfs will either not clean your car or just give your car away and tell you to wait for a long time and then won't tell you what exactly happened if you want them to clean your car forget that part there going to put that bs aside and not even offer to give you an upgrade or the same type car to rent they won't help you solve your problem never go here EVER.

Waited 45 minutes in line to be told to wait another 45 minutes for the car to be available. The attendant was nice enough but Dollar clearly doesn't manage their bookings properly. Save yourself the hassle and the wait, go somewhere else. Never again for me.

Couldn't give no stars!!!Waited nearly 2 hrs in line. Everyone coming to counter complaining they'd waited over an hr & no car. 2 in front f us asked what was available & got cars. We were told only Mercedes--- 2018 not even new-$300 upcharge or wait at least an hour for returns Sooo we paid $650 for 2 day car rental What a scam!!

Would give zero stars if possible. I've never seen such inefficiency. Waited over an hour and a half to get a car that I had a reservation for, there were 7 people in front of me. Never again.

Do not rely on Hertz/ Dollar service!!!!! Defiantly the last time I will conduct business with either of them. I waited for a car 3 hours (!!) after booking a car in advance. Afterward, they unlawfully charged me $138 for gas & extra hours. Customer service did not provide satisfying compensation for the unprofessional service I received.

Dollar rental in Oakland really sucks. No one was at the dollar counter. We were redirected to hertz and waited 30 min in line at the hertz counter (and the hertz people would take hertz customers first and would only service dollar when there were no hertz customers). When it was finally our turn, after all the paperwork was signed, they told us there was currently no car and we have time wait 25 min. After 25 min, I asked for a status and the guy said no eta ; it could be another hour or 2 or more. Finally gave up and rented from Alamo .

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!! This is the worst rip off in the entire world. Prepaid for a car, got there WAITED 3 HOURS only to be told that the car that I had reserved was not there. Then I was told I could pay 100 extra dollars a day for a premium car. After I was already late for a work meeting that I flew into town for. I had to take that car and was told that if I brought it back the same day I would not be charged and would be given the car I had paid for but that I had to go to a different airport to switch out the car. I did so and at the other airport was told that that's actually not possible now I'm staring at three times the bill that I had originally prepaid for! All this happened while I watched the people behind the desk continue to berate already upset patrons who were also waiting in line for hours for cars that were not there. This place is ridiculous! I cannot believe how they treat their customers, I cannot believe that they are actually actively trying to scam people, and I cannot believe that this place continues to operate!

Waited in line for an hour, then once to the front of the line got told we'd need to wait another two hours for our car because they did not have any cars available EXCEPT for an upgraded car that would cost another 100+. even with a reservation there was no car available for us, and some of the service was very poor.

The customer service representative, Ruben is the worst when it comes to customer service. So rude. Wouldn't explain to me in a professional manner about their lame credit card policy. So stupid! I paid for my rental online but they won't let you take the car unless they get a physical credit card!!! They have my bloody bank account number stored somewhere in there system online!!! He just gave up on me and walked away after a minute of me demanding for the car rental that I HAD ALEADY paid for in full. Seriously. He had no other option for me but for him to walk away from the counter and left me standing there. I AM not happy with this!

I had reserved a car in advance and I had to wait 1-2 hours before I got my car. They said it needed to be cleaned. Really bad service. Not worth the wait. I rather pay more than to get service like this

Terrible service. Their rental counter is closed with a sign to use the Hertz counter. The workers at the Hertz counter keep calling for Hertz customers and skipping over the Dollar customers. I've been in line over an hour and it keeps getting longer.

Took 2 1/2 hours to get a car. Car was booked in advance via Priceline. One person working the counter - 20 to 30 ppl in line. Took 90 minutes to reach counter. Hardly anyone in line at other rental agencies. Then once checked in at counter was told it would be another hour to receive the car --WHATTTTT????? For a RESERVED car! If this Dollar can't handle the amount of rentals then they either shouldn't rent out as many cars - or have more staffing. It's a Tuesday not a holiday and it shouldn't be any surprise to the company how many rentals they have coming in. I would leave for another counter except I booked through Priceline and can't transfer or cancel. Buyer beware if you go through this company your trip will be seriously delayed and you will feel extremely frustrated.
