I had a deflated tire and called first if they could help me. The mechanic didn't charge me anything and checked all the tire pressures. No one said to get gas in order to get services. I use this station for gas anyway because it's a safe and convenient location. The price is considered cheaper than San Francisco. 2 months ago, I needed air in one tire, the cashier did say that I had to get gas first. That was a raining day, but the cashier helped me with the air anyway and he was very wet after. In that way, I appreciated him very much, for he could tell me NO.

Used these guys before without a major hassle. Brought my car in for an issue with a tire that deflated frequently. Told them I was moving soon. 1K later, three new tires, and some work on my breaks, and the original issue still isn't resolved. I don't live in Oakland anymore so can't bring it back. Keep a close eye on their work.

We are stranded here at this gas station. Our Lexus tire blew out. We thought it was just flat so we stopped to get air. The Asian attendent was so rude to us. We asked to have the air turned on and he it is only for paying customers and we need to buy gas. I said we don't need gas then my bf went inside explained that our tire was flat and we just needed air for one tire. He tried to charge him. My bf said fine we'll get gas after but we need air. So we tired to put air into the tire and it wouldn't take it. The tire had moved off the rim and it was blown at this point. We told the attendent what had happened and we had AAA coming out but it would be between 30-90 mins. We wanted to go sit down at the burger spot across the street. He told us the car can't stay here and we have to move it. Then he said we have to stay with the car. We couldn't believe how he was treating us. We still can't believe how he treated us. We were in need of help and some compassion and he treated us like we just stole something. We will never stop at this gas station again and I hope you will never give this place a dime of your money. I only hope that if this guy is ever in need of help or stranded that he actually gets the help and compassion from a good Samaritan.

While I was on my trip to SF, my vehicle developed a mechanical problem near this station. They were busy that day, but after listening to my story ( I had to rush to pick up relatives at Oakland Airport, Hoang, the head mechanics there, went out of his way to take care of my vehicle. I have been to other stations and I have to say that this place is clean and efficient. Hoang is an honest and competent mechanic. Don't read too much into the bad reviews about him, I was here at this place and they are not what other wrote about. I have no problem telling my co-works and friends to come here for their vehicle service.

This old 76 is now Mobil and it's awesome. It's an affordable option that is close to the 580 freeway entrance- although not right next to it. It's nothing fancy, it doesn't have much of a store front, but there is a 7-11 across the street from it. It feels like a small town pump. I guess that's why I like it. This place is A-OK! 1/100

This station is now a Mobil, which is the best gas I've used. It's even better since they boosted the amount of detergent in there--it's a good mix of cleaning & power (they call it Synergy). They didn't remodel when the switched to Mobil, so it looks a little janky, but the pumps are new & a pleasure to use. The gas here seems to be higher quality too, since other Mobils used to pump lower quality gas. My engine is very happy coming here! It's fun to use this station too because I used to use it when it was a 76. It's nice to be back. (76 was good gas too, but it had so much detergent it actually robbed my engine of power climbing hills.)

Do not come here for service. I took my vehicle here for a check up since I just moved her from SF and I though it was running 'stiff'. They hit me with an estimate for $2,700 ( struts, brakes, transmission, etc ) So I went back to my guy that had been servicing my cars for 15 years in SF- all bunk. I walked away from him for $240 and a 'perfect vehicle'. THESE GUYS ARE RIPPING PEOPLE OFF. How do you really think you can get way with this in the age of social media and quicker than light reviews ? No idea - but this is what happens. Take heed 76

Courteous, capable mechanic. Filled up my gas tank for free, installed new wiper blades for free, free bottle of fancy water upon pickup. Price was inline with what I found on the internet as appropriate for the job being done in this area. Called me during repairs to let me know what else they found, but was not pushy about anything. My car broke down nearby and they allowed me to leave it there- and started working on it without much delay.

This review is for the auto repair service. I had my tires replaced and oil changed. Next time I went to have my oil changed at my normal place, they told me that whoever had done the oil change last had done something while replacing the plug that would probably mean I'd need to have my oil pan replaced, and that my tires were over-inflated pretty drastically. So they'd screwed up the 2 things they'd done, and will end up costing me money.

Horrible gas station attendant. Tires were low on air and went to ask the attendant to turn on the air. He refused. And demanded that we paid. Rude. Don't come here if you need air for your tires.

Typical 76 gas station, been coming here for years and no complaints. I've only come for the gas, but they have a garage to preform services and evidently zip car parking here too.

I've been getting gas here for a couple of years and every time a brake light or something simple goes out they refused to charge me this is a great local service shop. The only challenge is you may need to leave your car for service because they are very busy which is a great sign.

Because I work close by, I had brought my car here for oil changes a few times. The first few times I went in for an oil change they told me I needed to replace or repair some sort of gasket due to a leak which would cost around $500 bucks. Once, they had also told me I needed new tires which was not entirely true. I still had a fair amount of life in them. I brought my car to my honest mechanic and tire guy at home. Neither found any such issue. I believe because I did not allow them to do the up-sell service, they are now not taking my car for an oil change due to loss of profit. Each time I try to take my car in they are too busy. Twice, I called before hand, that morning to see if they could take my car for an oil change and they said they could. When I got there, an hour after calling, they told me oh so sorry we are too busy today to take your car. Try back in a few weeks. This seems too fishy for me. I don't trust them and I believe they are taking advantage of people's lack of auto repair knowledge. This is a real shame since this place is really convenient for me. Too often, I have come across dishonest mechanics. Arm yourselves with a little knowledge about cars or talk to someone who does know about cars. When you find a good and honest mechanic hold onto them like gold because they will save you tons of it!

If you're desperate for an oil change, this neighborhood gas station can get you serviced pretty quick. Best of all, you can stroll Grand Ave while you wait, which is way more fun than sitting in a waiting room. Oil changes are an affordable $30ish. Last time I took my Honda in, they told me my tires were "no good" and recommended I have them put on new ones ASAP. I was a little skeptical and decided to have my tire guy check them out. Sure enough, they were completely worn down and ready to be replaced, which means -- these guys are honest!

This is not my regular mechanic, but when my car's brakes suddenly stopped functioning properly while I was driving (scary!) , I pulled right over into this service station. I asked the mechanics if they could take a look, and they said yes, but they would charge me a fee for the estimate. Since they said it would just go to the repair cost, I made the decision to go for it since I wasn't sure the car was safe to drive elsewhere. An hour later, the mechanic called me to tell me his estimate for repair: $1500.00. Since this is a significant amount of money for me, I decided it would be best to have the car towed to my regular mechanic to get a second opinion even if it wasn't convenient. This seems pretty routine to me. When I went back to Grand Ave 76, I asked to pay for the estimate and let them know I was taking the car elsewhere. The mechanic was not happy about this. Before he would finish writing up the estimate, let me pay, and give me my keys, he said I had to call my regular mechanic and find out what his estimate was, and then he would match the price. Of course, this set off my little lady alarm bells. If it was an honest price to begin with, why was it suddenly flexible? I decided to "just get outta there!" as they say on Portlandia. I called my regular mechanic to let him know I'd be having the car towed over. I went back into the shop and told the Grand Ave 76 mechanic that I wanted to pay for the estimate and go. He kept stalling and asking me questions about what my mechanic said, and where he was located, and why I had to go there? He said if I wanted to go to a mechanic across town, I should go to his brother's shop. This was all so super shady and condescending. I felt like he was just holding my car hostage until I consented to let them fix it. I told him to just please give me the estimate and let me pay for it, so I could go. He finally wrote down the "estimate" which was just dollar costs for the whole repair, no breakdown for parts and labor, no real explanation of what was wrong, and a note that said I "refused service." Sure as to heck I did! And, FYI, the final repair from my regular mechanic came in under $600. Fair warning, if your car can still steer, steer clear of here.
