Nice amphitheatre to view a show. Although we pay $10 for parking (City of Oakland) the parking lot roadway is not maintained.

We came to see a friend perform in Beautiful. What a wonderful show. We happened to be here on a warm evening, which was wonderful. I've been here on other nights when it gets cold when the sun goes down.In short, performances are always great, but dress for the weather to fully enjoy the experience.

Truly lovely organization that puts on quality shows in a beautiful venue. Saw Gypsy a week back and there's something extra about seeing a production about the decline of vaudeville that isn't, you know, Patti LuPone playing to a sold out audience of Broadway patrons paying $250+ a ticket right?

The Amphitheater and grounds we're built during the Depression as a WPA project and it's a pretty extraordinary facility but the best part is that woodminster still operating after all these years and they put on a heck of a good show in the summertime under the stars I saw Gypsy starring Deb Del Mastro as Mama Rose couldn't be better great sight lines and I really have to send accolades out to whoever did the sound design you could hear every word the band was on the mark great time had by all who went. Check it out they have two more Productions later on this summer

This venue is such an OG Oakland gem. When you hear of Oakland, no one talks about the "top-notch production venue in the cutty woods that's super easily accessed from San Joaquin Miller Road." I feel silly for never having known this existed right up the street from me, having lived in the area for 6 years. And not just that, the production is forreal-forreal. Like forereal-forreal.It gets freezing, so be prepared and bring warm coats and a blanket. There's a cafe that sells snacks like pop-corn, tea and hot chocolate. They take credit cards and cash.*The only thing I did not appreciate about the venue, nor the promoter who hosts shows in general, is that there was no mention of a parking fee which is $10--to the City of Oakland. (I go to San Joaquin Miller Park and park off of Sanborn often enough), and I never have to pay. So when I saw the map, I never thought there'd a fee. I hardly ever carry cash; couldn't pay for parking. But the parking attendant, bless him, let me through, albeit with harsh judgment eyes.*Back to the venue/musical: I saw Gypsy on 6/15/23. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Where do I leave a review about this production and the artists!? OMG...it was AWESOME! I don't even remember getting the playbill, btw. The orchestra, the artists, EVERYTHING made me #verklempt, the power of theater--the dedication of each artist: you could smell it. The props, the stagehands, all the little accoutrement techniques of theater--it's as if I have never seen, known, or appreciated theater before! It carries such a different aura from film, from digital production. I just purchased tickets from TodayTix on a whim, to keep my daughter exposed to live theater...and it was I who was re-blown away. (Wish I had the head-blown emoji here.)The venue and the act--all of it was incredibly heart warming, even though I was freezing by bones off.GO WATCH SOME THEATER!

The Mary Poppins production is awesome! Comparable to the original B-Way productionin many ways: the cast are all major-league. The Disney version was used by Woodminster, but with tidbits from Broadway's version, which were not in the movie. Woodminster has come a long way since we last saw a production there, a very enjoyable rendition of G&S "Pirates"...Their current "Mary Poppins" could not be much better, even if was on Broadway! Now, in 2023, check the casting etc for gratuitous political correctness and virtue-signaling - a form of wackiness that has overtaken much of California...Its hard to find traditional productions, unless one is prepared to pay $300+ per ticket...DON'T USE YOUR GPS UNLESS YOU LIKE A _STRENUOUS_ CLIMB!! - use some driving directions that take you to their actual parking lot!

I haven't been to a show here in years and it was refreshing to get back out and see an outdoor musical show at this venue. We happened to get Goldstar tickets to see Get on Your Feet, the story of Gloria Estefan and parking was no issue for only $5. However, the walk to the theatre was slightly strenuous and not sure how others can walk as it is long and steep. Seats were in the middle and we had a good view. Remember to dress warmly as nights here can be cold. You can bring a blanket and wear a heavy jacket. For a copy of the program, you have to scan a QR code in advance as there are no paper copies of the program available. Maybe it's the wave of the future to protect the environment and save paper.

Have been coming here for over ten years and the quality of the production’s are top notch. Three plays a season, June July and August. Bring a picnic dinner to enjoy before the show. Lots of picnic benches available. The venues has concessions with light snacks. Can be cold once the sun goes down so bring a blanket and jacket just in case. Live orchestra accompanies the performance.

A delightful live music and acting performance at a COVID safe outdoor location. Be sure to dress warmly and bring a blanket.

The mix of professional actors and "Woodminster" favorites give this theatre a summer-camp feel. It's great to have this as a rock in the community.Compared to other companies in the area - they generally cast a diverse group of people, contrary to what the haters will tell you.Hopefully they keep the lights on for another 50 years.
