I went to this branch a couple days ago to have additional information for my advisory account sent to their office by fax. It was what I was instructed to do. Both tellers looked busy but the bankers were just yapping about sport so I walked up to one of them and asked for help. He immediately changed the tone of his voice and said that I needed to make an appointment. He told me to get in line and talk to the teller, and then went back to the colleague and yapped more about sport. Ever since the pandemic, Wells Fargo bankers have stopped helping their customers unless they have appointments. They don't answer the phone and sometimes they don't even show up for the appointments. I'm transferring my retirement account, business accounts, and multiple personal accounts to another bank.

The bank is bustling with employees but only two working tellers. The long line is unattended making service seem very poor. They need to reinvent the way they provide service at this branch.

A bank that is unable to do any cash banking business due to lack of tellers. Maybe 6 employees in there and none can do a tellers job. Where's the management at? Unacceptable Garbage.

Nice, safe place to do your banking for sure. A little under staffed right now because of the aftermath of the pandemic but the line moves fast. Nothing but great customer service here and employees that try to get to know you versus just you being another number. There's a lot of parking available but it can be a bit of a bit of a sht show because some people don't know how to drive. Ha.

Date: 9/12/2022 Time: 10:30 AM 67° Sunny My classmate and I are at this Wells Fargo Branch to set up a checking account for an upcoming event. Our appointment is with John Standart who is the small business banker. Both my classmate and I are senior citizens dealing with modern technology. Charles has an I-phone and is attempting to install the Wells Fargo app onto his cell phone. I have an Android, which is easier for me to search and install apps. John is helpful and very patient in assisting us with the installation of the bank app and the set up of an email account for Zelle. Okay, Charles has the bank app on his phone, but there is an issue that we can't seem to get something accomplished. No worry, as my classmate will return to the bank to get things resolved. This branch is in the Montclair District. It is not that often I am up in this shopping district. However, I have been to other banks where I don't receive the type of customer service that is offered to us by John. I laud him for his professionalism and willingness to assist. Indeed he is a valuable asset to Wells Fargo Bank, Montclair branch. Finally, customer service is excellent. The teller, Kim, is approachable and pleasant. She tells me that the ATM debit cards will take about 7 to 10 business days to receive them in the mail.

Walked in to the bank for my SCHEDULED appointment and nobody wanted to help me. It seemed very discriminatory.

Great service from Maria Sultani at Montclair branch on tricky refi. Due to my significant ownership stake in several companies and new regs passed during COVID, we had already lost out on a refi through a competitor, a mortgage broker where everything moved at a glacial pace. Stopped in to deal with some personal banking and Jane suggested we meet with Maria Sultani and are we ever glad we did. She kept everything moving along at a brisk pace, understood specific instructions I supplied her with ("My companies do not have time to generate new balance sheets and profit/loss statements every month. Please make sure the underwriter understands that before we start."). Bottom line? Got refi'd in 7 weeks from start to finish and-a totally unexpected bonus- she was able to lock at a lower rate than we had agreed to by watching rates like a hawk and jumping in when the rate dropped down for just 24 hours. Incredible service. After we finished up, I went back and did a quick estimate over how much we saved by refinancing through Maria and Wells and it saved us more than $10,000 over the 10 year rate lock of our loan. Thank you Maria! JH in Montclair District, Oakland

I've always been treated kindly by the staff here and am so happy that they're actually open during this covid! Needed to deposit western union money orders in person and it was all very smooth! Let's all show each other mercy and grace as we all navigate this uneasy time!

It's kind of funny reading the negative reviews, because you can kind of tell what kind of people have written them. If you look at some of the negative reviewers' profiles, you'll see that many of them have given negative reviews to the majority of the businesses they've reviewed. That should tell you something Moving on... I don't have to go into the branch often, but when I have, I found my experience at this branch to be very customer service oriented. Today, I went into open another account at this branch. At first, I waited in the teller line. There was only one window open, but the other personnel working behind the desk let me know that someone would be with me shortly. When I indicated that I was there to open account, the teller directed me to a banker, who helped me right away. The individual helping me was extremely pleasant, courteous and professional. She explained everything clearly, laid out the different options for different types of accounts, and set everything up promptly. The customer service I received today, and previously, have always been stellar.

Lousy customer service from Tellers. This is a training branch for new Tellers so nobody knows you when you walk in even if you are a regular customer, and the Teller supervisor who has worked there for years never recognizes customers and always seems to be depressed. Even making deposits can present challenges and long waits, as staff stumble through their system. Avoid this branch and avoid frustration.

We have been loyal customers for 31 years and today was the last straw. Forget those apology campaigns they have spent millions on. The weekend manager there was a total j*** to the old couple next to me and then absolutely refused to do a transaction that I have done many times. I counted 6 times I had done the very same transaction in the last three weeks. He was adamant and told me that my account was an at risk account. Since I do everything through my bank accounting wise and run tens of thousands of dollars through it each month you would think that some respect would be given to those of us who stuck with them. So bye bye Montclair Bank and you can thank the manager who was on duty September 8th 2018.
