Great market, interesting selection of cheeses, baked goods, prepared meals, salads - small but mighty!

Nice "quick-shop" in-a-pinch grocery store. Any retail shopping in the Oakland Hills will set ya back abt 20% more gross... But consider it a convenience tax for its ideal location. There's plenty of artisinal brands, organics, locally sourced goods; plus plenty of conventional brands found in the metro macro-markets.Nice staff, helpful. A great alternative for locals not wanting to drive further. Plus, the Piedmont/Montclair demographic shouldn't notice the inflated cost doing their basic/moderate procurement of standard daily provisions. They have a deli, which I saw from afar. I missed the beer/wine section also... I'll go sometime & survey what I missed today. I'm sure there's a good selection!

I rode my bicycle up to village market today after locking my bike up I go inside as I am browsing through the store I noticed that employees of the store are literally following me around threw out the store ! It was very creepy! While I was trying to decide which sandwich I was going to purchase this short guy that works in the butcher department walks up to me and asked me in a rude ass voice can I help you? I said no then he goes pfff with his mouth! He whole energy was weird as fuck ! I feel like since I was wearing a coat and had a backpack on they were profiling me !! Based on the way I looked I was being discriminated on and harassed for no reason!! All the staff in the store were acting snobby and rude for no reason! I was riding my ebike after locking it up I had an empty backpack on ! I wearing a backpack a reason to follow someone around? I don't think so! I bought 2 sandwiches! I was not rude or nasty to anyone yet I was followed around and treated like shit for the way I looked! Wearing a backpack and a black coat! Did they think I was a thief? If so why? At no point was anything stolen! It seems like since that store is in a bougie neighborhood. The staff members are racist and prejudice towards people.

As soon as we saw Village Market on board with Instacart we ordered a pie that we've been searching for over the last three years. My spouse and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary, and our favorite dessert is Strawberry Rhubarb pie. They delivered an artisan made pie at such a very reasonable price, and we are both over the moon about the quality and delicious, authentic homestyle taste! We really appreciate being able to get grocery delivery from the Village Market, and will be repeat customers through Instacart from here on out!

This is the best neighborhood market. The food is high quality and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is expensive, but not more so than trader joe’s or whole foods. They have an array of local brands and unique products. Very easy to shop. Would most definitely recommend!

I love coming to this little market whenever I'm looking for something fancy. I would say this isn't the place to get all your essentials, but it's great for treats. They carry Cowgirl Creamery cheese, high quality meats, ACME bread, and delicious ready-made sushi that's way better than any other grocery store's sushi. I always find excellent and fresh produce here too, like heirloom tomatoes. It's a little pricier than other grocery stores, so come here for special occasions only! I usually just grab some nice bread, cheese, and meat. It's a small market so it's never super crowded, always plenty of parking too. There's a great little cafe and plant store next to it too so it's a perfect Saturday morning outing.

I was shocked and happily surprised to see that they carry uji time ice cream here at village market. I only know they have soft serve but glad to try their ice cream. Thanks village market to save me to go all the way to Berkeley
