I had a great experience at this post office on Pardee Rd. in Oakland near the airport. I went to apply for a passport. I had an old one that expired more than 5 years ago. I filled out the form online, printed it at home, got passport photos at UPS, and made an appt. online. This post office was the only one that wasn't fully booked weeks and months in advance. I arrived early for my appt. at 12:15. I was shocked that the PO was nearly empty at that time of day. There was only 1 car in the parking lot. No line at customer service. The passport window opened promptly at 12 noon for another customer. The postal employee, whose name was Liana, was a gem. She was so helpful, kind, patient, and accommodating. Her radiant smile stayed in place the whole time. The passport photo I paid $20 for at UPS was no good because I was still wearing my glasses. Ms. Liana took another photo of me sans glasses. When I told her I should put makeup on first, she said I did not need any because I was pretty. I signed up to have my passport sent by regular mail in umpty-ump weeks. To my surprise, it arrived on March 29, 2-1/2 weeks later, via priority mail, which I did not pay for? I know the USPS has had a bad rap these days. They can't seem to do anything right. But on this day, everything went smoothly and I was helped by the Employee of the Year who brings credit to the agency. I'm sure there are more like her but we never hear about them, just the bad actors and the post office from hell. So if you're looking for a place to get your passport that's pleasant and fast, this is the place. You might even be able to show up as a walk-in between 9-10 am and get it done. Pass it on.

Horrible staff, avoid at all costs. Asian lady with grey hair at front desk kept giving us attitude and smirking whenever we asked a question. We just had some clarifying questions about what to prepare for our next visit, she refused to answer a yes or no question and was very disrespectful. Your job is to clarify things for customers, not look down on them.

Arrived 30 minutes before our passport appointment. Got seen 30 minutes after our appointment because they made us wait to help someone else. Person helping was friendly. Would have gotten a 5 star review otherwise.

I'm not sure if USPS knows you must deliver the mail daily. For the past three weeks our neighborhood has not received our mail daily. This is not fair our community matters regardless of our skin color because Piedmont gets their mail daily. It is Christmas time and we have been waiting for payroll. Not delivering our mail hinders the people in my community that need what's in those letters.

I had two packages shipped to me that was never delivered at my home. They say they put it on the front porch and they could not even access my front porch because the gate is closed. This is terrible service from you united Postal Service.
