How does one describe this place accurately to convince you that a drive to a post office in San Jose is better than stepping into this abyss?430pm, January 18 2024. One lady (an insult to ladies, but no other way to describe her) at counter. Sat down. Slowly works way through line. Kept giving people excuses if what they needed was anything other than mailing a letter. Folks had to go to 7th street, she said, as she was about to close. The website and door say 5pm.Rude and LAZY are understatements. Refused to process documents. Made up rules that were neither in the instructions from USPS, nor in place at the post office in SF.I leave the country tomorrow morning. I'll miss a filing deadline because the USPS lady wanted to leave early and made up excuses to avoid doing her job. It would be hurtful if it weren't so laughable. One fights for public agencies and tries to support good govt jobs, just to experience such purposeful incompetence?Avoid this place.

So frustrating dealing with the post office at 14th and Clay St. in Oakland. Again, they closed before 5 pm today, so I couldn't pick up my mail. On Friday they closed early early, apparently due to a march downtown. Makes it hardtop be supportive often postal service.

This Post Office have gone through a lot of personnel changes like many other businesses and I personally feel like the service level went from 4.5 out of 5 to a 2; sometimes down to a "1". These new employees would not acknowledge you even when you're standing in line in front of them. They would continue to stare at their personal devices; which makes me wonder if that's the new policy where this company allows their employees to ignore their guests? All in all, I don't usually use the USPS as often anymore. Thank goodness that there are other options such as FedEx, UPS and even DHL ????

Ran ½ a mile to make it here before 5:00pm when they're supposed to close.Doors were locked at 4:55pm.One of the most annoying things ever is when places close early. Especially a government building.I would give 0 out of 5 stars if I had the option.Boooo. ???

Clerk arbitrarily determined that my normal #10 letter was a parcel, which doubled the required postage. No point in arguing, she could hardly communicate in English and obviously customer service/satisfaction isn’t something USPS actually cares about. Counting down the days until the postal service is privatized/eliminated so all the knuckle dragging clowns working there have to get a real job like the rest of us…

Doors are locked at random business hours with no signage or notification. You have no access to your P.O. Box or any services. This is not acceptable customer service.

It’s not a bad post office. The lines can be long, but this seems mostly due to how understaffed this location is (which I’m sure isn’t something that employees have any say in). The workers are for the most part patient and helpful. It’s not a five star place mainly because it doesn’t have a self service machine — what’s up with that? It really needs one of those huge things that let you weigh and ship your own packages that you see at other post offices, and a clearly marked drop-off point for mail so people don’t have to stand in line. There doesn’t seem to be much investment in this office from whoever the USPS higher-ups are.
