Great store, amazing finds, supporting an all women business is a win for me! Plus they had what I was looking for for my Christmas shopping list! It’s a circular economy- less waste in our landfill, affordable items for my wallet, repurposed items going to a good home and supporting single moms all while keeping our dollars in Oakland.

Whenever I'm in need of furniture or various housing time, I go to Urban University. Been shopping there for years and will continue to do so. and more importantly their mission is helping many people in great need of assistance. I support them 100%

My partner and I stopped in here this week for the first time. All of the staff is incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. I found a cute shirt for just a dollar and my partner found a pair of shoes exactly her style. The proceeds go to a great cause helping unhoused and low income single moms with education, employment & empowerment opportunities. We'd definitely shop here again!

One of the male staff members by the name of Kineal Shakes tried to take my 4 year old daughter to the park without my permission. When I notified the owner,Tracey Williams, her immediate response was “there’s no report on file of this ever occurring.” Despite the incident being documented by a police report. She did 0 investigation and he continues to be employed by urban university. Shame on you, Tracey.

I love urban university! There is nothing better than shopping with purpose! Urban University has it all. I recently got a brand new sweater, tags still on at a steal of price. I love scarfs and this has become my go to spot for scarfs; I feel better buying second hand, more sustainable. AND they have locally made jewelry. The store supports single mothers and their children through on the job training, which is the far greatest deal of all - helping others. This store is community at its best.

Walked past this store one day and I just KNEW I had to go in, and boy am I glad I did. I bought a really cool art piece made by a local artist and some pre-loved clothing :) Such an awesome store with beautiful energy. Love their mission, love their values. TAKE MY MONEY!
