My husband and I have loved coming here! We are total beginners and Jonathan has never once made us feel bad about it. The gym has a friendly, informal and uncompetitive vibe. The classes are challenging and the focus changes every day. Definitely recommend this gym to anyone!

I have been working out at UAF for over four years. Great community, workouts and value. It is really hard to find small group fitness class that incorporate weight training without paying >$200/month, but UAF does just that. Bonus indoor/outdoor space, kickboxing twice a week, and open gym access outside of class time. Highly recommend Jonathan.

Jonathan is a 10/10 gym owner and trainer. He accommodates every individual person in his classes, explains every move you make, and is always encouraging you. Not only is this the most affordable gym in the bay, it's also the most welcoming. There's something for everyone here. You work as hard and you're ready for.

I have been attending classes with Unfair Advantage most weekdays since early 2020 and this has become the most important part of my fitness and training routine. Jonathan is welcoming and motivating every single day, and the best thing is that no matter which mood I'm in, I always get to focus totally on class and come out of it feeling so much better. The gym atmosphere is always welcoming and encouraging: we all get what we need from every class and it is special to be part of a happy and familiar community. My fitness level and muscle definition have improved immensely through being part of Unfair Advantage, and more importantly my confidence is now much higher: I feel good and know that every week I'll keep making small improvements and learning more about how to stay in shape. I will keep attending and learning from Jonathan's phenomenal expertise and guidance!

Jonathan got me back on track, from not working out to attending classes daily. Now going to the gym is one of the highlights of my day. He builds community and makes everyone feel welcome. He adapts workouts for any skill level which makes them approachable and keeps them challenging as you improve. Can't recommend it highly enough!

I'm so glad I found Jonathan and his gym. The workouts are intense but highly effective. Jonathan has worked with me to modify moves when I needed it and now I'm able to do so much more than when I first started. The atmosphere is fun and supportive and I really appreciate all the guidance that Jonathan has provided as he helps me reach my weight loss goals (down 20 lbs so far!). Highly recommend Unfair Advantage Fitness.

Jonathan is the best. He is so motivating and fun. I have never felt this strong and healthy in my life. He adjusts the workouts to your strength. On top of everything, His sense of humor is unbeatable!!! Every week I look forward to work out with him. You will never regret working with this guy.

Jonathan is the best trainer EVER!!! I have been an avid gym goer for the past twenty years, and have never encountered another trainer as excellent as him. He motivates through positivity and knowledge of the specific needs of each and every one of his members. He is constantly modifying exercises for myself and other members who have injuries or health conditions. Also, he welcomes me bringing my children, which takes away a huge barrier in getting to the gym. Both my husband and I can work out together, with our kids in tow. I have been a member for almost four years, and have never had the same work out twice. I seriously don't know how he continues to come up with new and challenging exercises. But above his amazing skill, people go back to Jonathan because of his contagious positivity and spirit. When you are at his gym, you feel like family. I will never go to another gym after having had this experience. If you want a personalized, challenging and fun exercise experience, this is it!

I love this gym. After moving from Concord to Oakland, I needed to find a new gym. If you're considering trying it out, there is a free week available on the website. Jonathan is the most motivating, good spirited trainer I've ever met! I started going to UAF a week after dislocating my knee. He has continued to give me alternate exercises and after a month I already feel healthier and stronger. Reasonable prices, great facility, classes everyday, variety in class type, and a very supportive class environment. Stop by and talk to Jonathan!

This has been so far my favorite gym in the Bay Area. Everyone is very welcoming and encourages each other. The classes are amazing and fun. Jonathan pushes you yet is also very encouraging and helps with the form and technique. I highly recommend checking out this gym. You will have a great time.
