Expensive, way higher than the reserved price. At return, 4 staff members standing around chatting and Michael talking sports while the clock is ticking on my departing flight. Nice that they can all be so relaxed and take their sweet ass time but I've got to get moving.

I had a great experience with Thrifty at OAK. After the shuttle, I pulled into the rental center and was the second person in line. The manager, who had just clocked out, asked if I needed help checking in. She walked me through the online check in, saw that a car of my class wasn’t available, then upgraded me at no cost. The Prius I received was clean and has no issues for my drive. I returned the car and was kindly greeted, then sent to the shuttle to return to the airport. While on the shuttle I received the emailed receipt that all was good. Overall, it was a great experience that I would recommend!

The WORST experience. I would not recommend renting from them. We booked through Expedia- thrifty was showing it was open 24 hours. And even confirmed our pick up time. My husband and friends landed at 12:15am , went to the rental area, come to find out they were closed and nobody to talk to. I contacted Expedia to see if it was an error but they also confirmed that Thrifty shows their hours of operation is 24/7. My husband was then stuck at the airport waiting until 6 am , when Thrifty was supposed to open. Nobody showed up at the counter until 7am. They need to update their hours with booking platforms so this doesn’t happen to anybody else. I reached out via their website, and nobody has tried to make this right. Terrible customer service!

I have had a terrible experience with Thrifty. Easy to rent the car. But the after return service has been absolutely terrible. I sent in an email almost a week ago and I am still waiting for a response. I was overcharged by $400 and I have contacted my bank credit card to dispute the charges. The simple fact that I have had no response in nearly a week is unacceptible. As it stand now I will never ever rent from you again. A simple phone call could of solves everything. The fact that you claim I brought back the thank empty is mind blowing. I filled the thank up 10 minutes before I returned it.

TL;DR: Do not rent from this location. It appears they are either negligent or intentionally charging fake fees and have questionable data management practices.
Despite filling the car at a nearby gas station before returning it (needle on the "full" line), we received a letter in the mail 2 weeks after our rental claiming the car needed 3.1 gallons and they charged us an additional $39.81. It appears they are either negligent or intentionally charging fake fees. When we called the number listed in the letter, we could not reach a human. We had to select "new rental" to speak to someone (Nix, ID #2519). Nix informed us there is no phone number for customer service, and our only option is to file a form on their website for them to "investigate our claims." To top things off, Nix claimed she couldn't see the additional charge on our rental receipt. This is a serious data management concern - how can you charge a card and not have a record of it? We will be disputing the charge, but learn from our experience and don't rent from this location. We travel to Oakland frequently and have never had an issue with other rental car providers -- avoid Thrifty at all costs.

Had a reservation for an SUV to seat 7 (we each had baggage) to take us from Oakland to Portland, kkkm …., up the the okaloamdnairport location & they disnt have one. They stayed they “tried to call” the customs to let them know ( I have no record of a call). The y have a smaller vehicle that costs more per day (Cadillac), so I rent it for one day. Walking. Out to the lot to pick up the car, I look over & see a FULL SIZS SUV sitting in their “VIP”. Never will I trust & prplo

Horrible experience with Thrifty/Hertz rental. Turned the car in, and 6 days later, they told me there is a claim but didn't explain what the issue us. The car was only driven 26 miles, and it was turned back just as I received it. 2 weeks later, numerous calls and 5 emails and still no one can tell me what the claim is for. I did pay for the extended insurance coverage but now it all feels like a scam by this rental company!

I made my reservation online with Thrifty because they offered the best price for the rental I needed. I reserved a compact/economy car, Chevrolet Spark or similar. When I arrived at the Oakland counter to pick up my car I was charged approximately $10 more for the rental. When I questioned this the representative indicated it was due to the taxes. Furthermore, I noticed the daily charge for the car on the receipt was more than the reservation I had made online. I was never offered any other class of car different from my original reservation, however when I went out to the car assigned to me it was an SUV which I had not requested. I was never asked if I wanted an upgrade, however it appears that I was given an upgrade without my consent and charged for it in addition to increased taxes. I realize $10 is not much but it's the principle of the matter....this was sneaky, and the lack of transparency and honesty will most likely discourage me from doing business with Thrifty in the future.

I rented a car from Thrifty and it was a really good experience until i received the final e-receipt and saw that they charged me $207.85 for gas. Yes they charged me over $12 per gallon for 16 gallons of gas. I did not pre-pay fuel, I never do. I have my original rental record with the estimate of charges to prove it. I find it extremely inconvenient that I have to submit a receipt via e-mail to prove I refueled the car to get my money refunded to me. There is no way to speak to a live assistor. I Rent from Thrifty all the time, but not I am going to have to reconsider.

They will find any reason not to got give you the car. They don’t even try or brother to find solutions. Their aim is to make you loose your deposit or the paid amount you made when renting the car online
