I had a rush job — I discover the adhesive on my beautiful vintage kitchen floor had vaporized just days before the new residents and their dog moved in. Eugene was amazing to deal with. I would work with Straus Carpet again on any flooring carpet in a heart beat.

I am a VERY happy customer! I wanted a carpet solution that did not waste new carpeting and dealt with a rather large stain my tenant had left behind on new carpeting. Tom came through! I did not think it would be possible! This business has been around for 40+ years (I think). I don’t think I have been a customer quite that long. This is a local business that provides high value and expertise.

I have a one bedroom apartment in need of having gross carpet removed and new LVP installed. I received quotes from several companies but chose to go with Straus Carpets. Tom Straus came out to measure and discuss options, he really understood what I was looking for and only needed to show me 2 samples for my decision to be made. I also got all new baseboards.They dropped off the baseboards the week prior so I could pre-paint them. Floors were installed Monday the very next week. The installers were on time and very efficient.I love the way they came out. I would highly recommend Straus Carpets for your flooring needs.

Need a beautiful cheap area rug or wall to wall carpet in Oakland or Alameda or San Leandro? Come to the family owned Straus Carpets where you can pick out a carpet remnant and have the edges bound very affordably. You can also find remnants of marmoleum and vinyl flooring as well as of course full selections. It’s so fun to remodel by sourcing flooring here!

Straus Carpets are great to work with. They have a large variety of quality products to choose from, and the expertise to go with. Vera is a professional who did exactly what she says they would, and on the date and time she said. I used Straus for both wall-to-wall carpet and vinyl planking installations, and the work was excellent for both.

We went to Straus Carpets to see if can get area rugs that would be a bit out of the ordinary and they got exactly what we were looking for! The 100% wool rugs are thick and luxurious and compliment our rooms beautifully. The pads were attached at the mill and the rugs are so comfortable on our floors.Tom guided us through the selection process and was extremely helpful and thorough from the first conversation all the way through the delivery and installation.

This place saved me more than $750 after checking two other local carpet stores. I'm so happy with the final product. Tim was so great and could not have made the whole process easier. I made one phone call, and he quoted me exactly what I paid; I went in, and chose one of the carpets he had set aside (all the green ones in that price range), and I had it ordered, all under two hours from when I made the call and installed within the week.

We recently had our hardwood floors installed by Straus Carpets and they look beautiful. Eugene came to our home, showed us samples, and bid the job. The installers were professional and cleaned up each day. I can highly recommend them.

Straus Carpets is nothing short then extraordinary! When I called to request an in-home consultation, it was so easy to schedule and give Tom an idea of what I was looking for. Day of, he came with examples and such a friendly demeanor.He is clearly an expert, having barely walked on the carpet, he knew what type of rug pads were underneath and which ones would need to be reinstalled vs keep (saving us money). Upon inspection to confirm, I discovered hardwood floors!Instead of being short, knowing that I wouldn't be needing his business right away, he took his time to give me his opinion on staining and baseboards. When we do need carpet, they will be our go-to for sure!

Even after almost a year, I am still greeted with the wonderful smell of new carpet every time I enter my home. Felix and his associates did an outstanding job assisting me select the perfect carpet to fit my budget, and the team of installers came in like ninjas removing and replacing the old carpet in record time. Whatever your flooring needs, Strauss is more than accommodating and extremely pleasant to work with.

We had a terrific experience at Straus Carpets with Steven guiding us along. We were replacing 35 year old wall to wall carpeting and the task seemed daunting. Steven's knowledgeable assistance was key to a successful install. The choices of carpet were good and the sample boards can be taken home. Once we selected several he ordered samples that were shipped directly to us. Steven was very patient and responsive to all our questions. The installers did an amazing job. The stairs needed to be wrapped and they turned out beautifully. The upgraded pad was worth the extra. Another great suggestion. Steven also made up an area rug with the extra carpeting. We love our Masland carpeting!

I showed up late on a Thursday looking for affordable carpet pad. They took my order and had it made by 9:30 the next morning. If your looking for professional service look nowhere else. They are excellent. Now my carpet is luxurious and comfy!
