This is the most unorganized and frustrating store and specifically Safeway I have ever shopped at. I live on the same street so it’s convenient but I am now finding myself going to other Safeways.
In just ONE day ALL of the carts were locked AND self checkout was closed because they didn’t have anyone covering the section.
I noticed since Brenda one of the managers left, it has gotten more chaotic. Why have four check lanes and only have 1-2 at the most open for checkout? Half the self checkout machines are never working and to add more misery the aisle that items are locked up you can end up waiting 10-15 mins waiting for someone just to come open and sometimes they look irritated. The workers are not the biggest issue but the store lacks poor management, cleanliness, constant lack of stock and organization. There is so many young people in the floor but only a few to manage the registers, please start having more cashiers for checkout.

Honestly avoid this store if you can. It's dirty, poorly stocked, many essentials are locked in cabinets, and they have recently decided to shut down self checkout without hiring/staffing enough checkout people - so the lines get backed up all the way down aisles. Expect even quick trips to take half an hour. Just go to Farmer Joe's down the street.

Stood in check out for 10 mins and when it was my turn to pay the cashier just turned off the isle light and walked away without a word to me or anyone standing in line behind me.
Most unprofessional cashier I’ve ever encountered in my life. He needed to get off his cell phone, stop texting, and do his job.
Walked out and left all my items on the conveyor. I will never be back to your store again. Good luck with him.

Unfortunately 2024 post pandemic inflation, homeless, thieves taking what they want without paying, staff aren't safe from mentally disabled customers.

Lovely store, great customer service, nice clientele!
You have to add the deals to the app, and then you save a ton

Just moved into the neighborhood, on the other side of the safeway and was excited to be walking distance to a grocery store for once. However, once I got there I found the prices to be extremely high compared to my old safeway in Albany. Virgin olive oil close to $15 for a small bottle, Safeway brand spices almost $6 - in fact all of the safeway brand items were $2-$3 more than what i'd seen at the Albany location a week ago, so it isn't just the national inflation. Way fewer items on sell. My order of about $120, which was: a steak ($9 - probably the cheapest item in my basket), mushrooms, dishsoap, dish scrubbers, one container of safeway brand garlic powder, one tube of garlic paste, a synthetic loofah, 1.5 liter coke zero, one bag of salad, one bottle of motoko miso salad dressing, one bottle of safeway brand spray on olive oil, a stick of butter, and one bottle of safeway brand thousand island. The total discount was only $11 once all was said. There weren't a lot of options, and the entire aisle of self care products, shampoos, soaps, etc, was locked up with no employees in sight to help open it up. That being said, the price of Aussie 3 minute miracle was DOUBLE what I purchased it under in Albany two weeks ago, so, maybe i'll just make a trip there whenever I need to stock up on that...
The one redeeming factor was the gentleman who worked at the meat counter. He was incredibly nice, patient, and responsive to questions.

The store is stocked with most things but minimal variants. Mostly "the essentials" for what you need. And the price is about 15% more than near by organic stores. Furthermore the lines are crammed against the freezer isles with no more than 1-2 lines ever open so prepare for 10 min waits. The pharmacy has a public floor space for private consultation and shots with a 3/4 fabric screen. If you want Safeway still go to Lakeshore for a far better experience
