I am a horticulturist and have worked in the field of horticulture and urban agribusiness for over 50 years. During that time, I have used mail order nurseries extensively from all over this country. If you order plants that need to be shipped, you know how critical the packing process is in ensuring arrival of undamaged stock. "Planting Justice" packing is superb--the best I have ever seen. No matter the excellence of your plant material, if it arrives squashed or broken, it's useless. I was so impressed with the packing job that I knew the plants would be outstanding as well. I was not disappointed. Good grafts and an abundance of live, white roots when unpotted! Cannot recommend this nursery and it's staff more highly. You won't be disappointed if you give them your business.

Helpful and knowledgeable staff, with a fantastic selection of edible crops, including some hard to find plants! I came up from Southern California and it was well worth the trip!

Wonderful customer service, they were honest about the health of plants I choose as I am a novice. Great selection. I got myself mulberry trees and pomegranate trees and there were so many to choose from and so many varietals. Really enjoyed my experience and plan to take my toddler to experience the overall beautiful vibe of what they have created there with the volunteering program and community market.

WAITED SIX WEEKS FOR ORDER TO SHIP!!!! CAUTION!! I ordered the end of March. Website stated it would be 2-3 weeks ship out time. No 2-3 weeks, so I emailed them. They sent a generic, automated email stating it would be 3-4 weeks. Long story short, after many phone calls, emails, Facebook messaging, and about to cancel the order, they finally shipped items out on the 10th of May. They never messaged me anymore pertaining to this order. The Facebook operator for them messaged me. That’s it! This place is very uncommunicative and very unprofessional. If you’re in the area, I think it may be better to stop in, but not for shipping. They never once tried to fix this or offer a solution. I just have my stuff coming six weeks after my order. Ridiculous!!! Figures from a business that still have talks about Covid on their pages and when to wear a mask. All in all, I won’t give this business my business any longer. Waited six weeks for order to be shipped!! I’ll be contacting some of the board members, as this is beyond bad customer service.

This was our second order from Planting Justice. We ordered Hardy kiwi both times. After the first year we lost 3 kiwis, so we reordered some more. We live in Minnesota and cannot plant until middle of May. Our shipment arrived in January!!? They are all sprouted, couple of them are gone. I was informed, PJ has 7 day!!! guarantee on plants??? And I am required to request when my shipment arrives. I order from nurseries all over US and most will guarantee their plants for a year. also I don't need to think about when to receive the plants. I will not be buying from PJ any more and will share my poor experience where I can.

Great service and great trees. They made a mistake on my order, they corrected the error very fast sending me the correct plants. Much appreciate the service. Highly recommend them as a source of great seedlings and larger plants/trees.

On 12/19/22, I placed an online order for 4 Jamie Mountain Papaya.On 12/23/22, I received the first order which was 4 plants with no leaves; I could see the start of some leaves buds and I thought I might be able to nurse the plants to health. I sent email to Planting Justice explaining I was only able to nurse 2 plants to health. I just got email from Planting Justice indicating they were sending me 2 replacement plants with leaves. I would suggest to order Mountain Papaya after winter.

I just want to add that they have the absolute best price in the area for bare root trees. I just paid 70 (which includes any tax) for two fruit trees. This is less than half of what a lot of other nurseries charge. January is the time to get bare root trees. They have a decent web page where you can view what's in stock. If you have trouble finding what you need, the staff is very helpful.This is an in-person purchase, btw.

First off let me say I have many potted fruit trees from fig trees to patio peach trees and so on. I have gotten these fruit tree's from many different online nurseries and local growers. The fig tree my wife received was far beyond what I expected when I ordered it. And the customer service was outstanding. I had an issue with my order and they definitely went above and before me. We will definitely be ordering from them in the spring. I highly recommend this company!

Ordered from them about a month ago and was really happy with the service. They were nicely packed and arrived in great condition. I was a little nervous at first as they came with little to no leaves, but after replanting them they really took off. Very happy and will be ordering from them again

This is the most incredible nursery in the whole Bay area. Also one of the largest and most diverse. You want it they got it. Bonsai plants check, exotic apple trees check, landscape trees check, Forest trees, bushes, vegetable starts, exotic stuff, great prices check check. This place is a Gardener's dream come true. Very nice people, they give people jobs that really could use a break in life and it is laid back and totally cool. You got to check this place out it is a one-of-a-kind spot!

I bought a couple pomegranate trees online from PJ. One arrived in perfect shape, and one was in very sad shape. Although I could not save the other plant, they sent me a new one that arrived in perfect shape. Thank you for taking care of your customer. I will be a repeat.
