Piedmont Grocery Market is a gem when it comes to prepared foods. Everything I’ve tried has been delicious and fresh, reflecting true quality that's worth every penny. What keeps me coming back is their ever-changing menu, which always offers new and exciting styles of food to try. Whether you’re picking up a quick meal or planning a special dinner, you can count on Piedmont Grocery for top-notch options. Highly recommended for anyone who values great food and variety!

The employees seated in the parking lot in the mornings like to stare down lone women like prey animals.

I’m in the store 3-4 days per week. I have been suffering from clinical depression and PTSD for many years and having the good fortune to take a walk up Piedmont Ave. and patronise such a nice place like Piedmont Grocery really helps me cope. Sometimes little things make a big impact.

Nice selection for a neighborhood store, and several good options for restricted or limited diets. Great salad bar, wine/liquor selection, cheeses and dips.Knocking off a star for the checkout experience. Although I’ve had very good experiences with the department staff, I’ve started gritting my teeth as I approach the checkstands, wondering if THIS visit is the one where I will finally be greeted—or even acknowledged—by the checker. Or if they’ll be too busy chatting with each other or their friends in line. Tonight I didn’t even get eye contact and I had to ask another checker for a piece of tape to seal my salad box because “my” checker had been too distracted by an interaction they found more important.I WORK in food service, I’ve run register, I train servers—this isn’t rocket science. When customers make a choice to spend their money with you—especially at these prices, which I do understand—don’t make them regret it. It takes very little effort to make people feel welcome.

I went to Piedmont Grocery during a walking tour of the neighborhood today and found it to be clean with a limited selection of specialty items and fresh produce. I found some very sturdy faux crystal glasses that I had been looking for but when I went to inquire on what they were made of and the price, a full faced, laced front Sista acted like helping me would immediately get her "I'm one of the good ones" card revoked. She was beyond rude. I went to another checkstand where a very friendly Sista from another Mista helped me out with a warm smile and great service. As a person of color, it is disheartening when I get a staff person that is from my same community treating customers like trash.

Expensive. Selection is very “White”, for lack of a better way of describing it. Great cheese and meat choices. Very limited Mexican, Asian, Black food sections (even when compared to a place like Wholefoods).

Had the RUDEST little child yell at me and throw out some snarky, sarcastic comments bc they couldn’t figure out how the front doors worked. Tried to yell at me, and accuse me of forcing the doors open the second I tried to come in. ?? I’ve been shopping here for years, and don’t want to stop, but please DO BETTER.

Management needs to do a better job at educating all employees about ADA compliance and being more welcoming to customers with disabilities. I came in here with my service dog, Who was clearly sporting their badge, and encountered an employee who acted passive aggressively towards me after they told me "no pets allowed". When I gestured towards the badge and said this is a service animal, they said "that doesn't tell me anything". The subsequent interaction would be considered discrimination under ADA laws. I wish more people knew how their miseducation on this topic creates innumerable micro-aggressions for people with disabilities to deal with on a daily basis.

Dont know what to say love the selection, the produce, the staff, the meat dept. It's a great place. BUT parking has become unavailable at all times of the day and all year round. It used to be parking was "difficult" the week before Thanksgiving and Christmas but at this point I have driven away unable to find parking. Almost EVERY TIME Im in the store someone is complaining about the lack of parking. I was going to stop by the other day for some premade sandwiches for lunch.... couldnt find parking. another recent trip had to drive around the parking lot multiple times before I found a spot and the store was completely empty. Im told before the store is even open a third of the parking is gone I see people with yoga mats parking in the lot and then walk down the street. at this point they have lost hundreds of dollars just from me over the lack of parking over the last month...I guess I'll be heading back to Berkeley bowl now. They used to have a parking attendant and you could find parking but he sadly passed away management from what I understand refuses to replace him.

2nd time received rude check out treatment from the same person. This lady seems to think she is doing us a favor by checking us out. Customer service in the market good.
