We moved from a single-family home with a fenced backyard in the Sacramento area to a condo in the East Bay--and naively thought our very smart German shepherd would adapt easily. She did NOT. We were honestly in a crisis after the first few hard weeks here. Thankfully, our son found Oakland Pet Care for us, and Owner Delia's lengthy and reassuring phone conversations with me in themselves were a game-changer. She matched us with a wonderful trainer, Laela, who quickly assessed our challenges here--blind corners, jack-in-the-box surprises on the other side of every door or elevator ride--but never gave up. She bonded immediately with our dog, who loved her right back, and taught us so many ways to calm her, wait at doors, walk calmly on the leash, ride in the car for off-site walks. Delia and Laela saved us--there is no other way to describe it. We will forever be grateful--and highly recommend them!

We love OPC! From the very first meeting, everyone there made it super clear that their first and only priority was Fin's happiness and well-being. When he first started off with OPC, Fin often would display a lot a mouthiness on walks and had a minimal sense of recall - making it hard for others to walk him. The OPC team (Delia, Cloe, Aly) was extremely patient working with him at his pace and after a couple months helped Fin build his confidence to be successfully integrated into a squad filled with his girlfriends/besties! It's such a joy to watch him eagerly wag his tail when he sees someone from OPC - and seeing how happy he is on these walks through the pictures and videos that get sent our way. Moreover, what puts OPC above and beyond is that while Fin was going through some medical issues, everyone on the team made it a personal effort to check in with Fin and showed him tons of love. It takes a village to raise a pup and we're all very lucky to have OPC as part of it!

I am interviewing new dog walkers and just had a very long and informative talk with Delia at Oakland Pet Care. It sounded like a great fit, and I was very excited to take the next step. Of course, in my search I have had to keep within my budget, as my dog needs 5 hikes per week. The price listed on their website is $34 per hike, which was a bit more than I was hoping for, but I thought I could stretch for the right place. After about 40 minutes, Delia mentioned they charged a flat monthly rate for the hikes, which I found odd, since it says $34 per walk on the website. She then said, no- the hikes are $36 per walk. I said I was really surprised that the website fees were incorrect and she laughed and said they needed to update the website. I said the price was out of my budget and I was very disappointed, especially after how much time we spent talking. She laughed again, and said it was a good thing I found out now before putting any more time in. I said it was not a good thing, that I had wasted 42 minutes during the work day, getting excited about something I could not afford. I told her she should have told me this before we even started talking. She seemed really surprised that I was so upset and said she was "sorry for disappointing" me. I find it so odd- she clearly knows the website fees are incorrect, but she took no responsibility and did not apologize for that fact. Some people might call this false advertising and some might even call this a bait and switch. I'm just super bummed.

Absolutely, hands down, Delia and her team are the best animal sitters, walkers, and caretakers I have ever come across. Delia took such great care of our puppy and supported us when we brought her into our home with training, walks, and dog sitting. Ultimately the puppy we brought home was not a good fit for kids and was anxious, nervous, and aggressive with our son. It was heartbreaking and felt impossible to figure out. Delia went above and beyond to help us match our dog with an owner that made sense for her. I can never thank Delia enough for what she did for our family and for our dog to make sure we all ended up in a good place. If and when we ever get another animal, I would go to Delia in a heartbeat. She's the very best!!!

Working with the wonderful team at Oakland Pet Care has been a fantastic experience, especially for our Yorkie Daisy. We started with solo walks for some remedial training and then transitioned to group walks with a pack of small pups. They explore the neighborhood and local trails. Yes, my 5lb Yorkie goes on trail walks and loves it! After each session we receive a report and photos. My family loves reading about her adventures and seeing Daisy with her besties captured on film. What makes OPC particularly special are the people. I can't say enough about them. From owner Delia and her diligent scheduler to trainers Cloe and Aly, and Daisy's current walker, Melissa -- all are incredibly kind, knowledgeable and trustworthy. Daisy's time out with OPC makes her day...and mine too! If you live in the Rockridge area of Oakland and want to put a smile on your dog's face, definitely check out Oakland Pet Care!

We have been clients of Oakland Pet Care for almost 4 years, that's when we rescued our older Border Collie, Gladys. Once we met Delia we knew we were in good hands, right away our girl was melting in her hands. Over the years we've seen an improvement with our girl's training, and we owe a lot of it to Delia and her Crew at Oakland Pet Care. We have also comfortably boarded our dog in Delia's care overnight. If you are looking for a local dog walking/training/boarding company...Oakland Pet Care is amazing. It's also great to support a Woman and Queer owned business.

We have nothing but good things to say about our experience using their dog walking services for our pup, Twix. Georgina, our walker and Delia, the owner have always been super easy to communicate and work with! We had a horrible situation with a past dog walker where we found out he wasn't actually walking our dog (!) so we came in with a lot of questions and were hesitant to trust another dog walker again. I worked at a pet tracking device company and Georgina was willing to add herself to Twix's app so we were always alerted to where they were going and how long. Twix always came back happy and tired. Couldn't ask for more!

I have only good things to say about Mariko, our really fabulous walker, and Delia, the caring owner. Our three year old golden doodle, Duncan, loved going on hikes with Mariko and (dog) company. I knew they were a great match when Mariko came to pick up Duncan, a stage-four mom clinger, while I was working from home. He bolted down the hall when he saw her, excited for his adventure. We're moving out of their service area, but I highly, highly recommend.

My dogs favorite part of the day is her hike with Olivia. We're working from home but it's really nice to have the dog gone for 2-2.5 hours and she comes back super happy and tired. Plus she's learned some new tricks and is much better off leash with us. She also lost some weight

Without hesitation I recommend Oakland Pet Care to take care of your furry loved ones. Our dog has thrived on their daily pack walks. As a young high energy dog, our pup has greatly benefited from OPC's talented walkers who have helped him build confidence, gain positive social skills, and get some of that energy out. Going on pack walks is the highlight of our dogs day!

We love Oakland Pet Care. I reached out to them a few years ago about getting our 2-year-old dog Ada onto some group walks. Delia the owner took the time to come and meet Ada and I in person to talk about what might work best. It's been awesome knowing that Ada has a safe and incredibly stimulating pack walk while I'm off at work. Very professional and responsible. We love OPC, Delia and our walker Olivia. Oakland Pet Care has been so so good for our family! Our 2 year old dog Sasha has a couple issues: 1) he has a neurological condition that makes his balance really wobbly. 2) he is a nervous guy, and especially triggered at our house, which makes him a pup that needs someone to take their time to get to know him and build his trust. Through Oakland Pet Care, we met Caitlin, who is an absolute angel, and loves Sasha, and all her dog friends so much. She takes incredible loving care of him on his evening walks. Because of Covid, our previous dog walker (who took a pack on hikes in the area), had to close. So of course I reached out to Delia of Oakland Pet Care! Even though Sasha needs a bit more TLC (esp in the beginning) than most dogs, they took us on, and it has been SO GREAT! Olivia is the pack dog-walker, and she is incredibly responsible, punctual, and loving with the dog packs! With her, I feel that my dog is very safe, having so much fun, and in such good hands. She sends an adorable email every day with photos of the dogs, where they went, and how the hike went. The team of Oakland Pet Care is a true gem and godsend. I recommend them very highly!

Oakland Pet Care is a breath of fresh air! They started walking my pup, Mango, 6 months ago, and have been amazing to work with. I highly recommend them. Delia, the owner, is communicative and extremely accommodating. She knows her trade and treats customers like family. I selected Oakland Pet Care because of their commitment to positive reinforcement training, as shown by their Dogtec certification. When Delia came over for a meet and greet, I saw that beyond the certification and label, she had a true personal commitment to the humane treatment of animals, as well as a strong knowledge of dog training. I have watched Delia contend with COVID both in respect to her clients, and her walkers. Her dedication to make sure she was doing right by everyone was inspiring. I had to abruptly move outside of Oakland Pet Care's usual area, and Delia agreed to keep my dog on as a client to ensure continuity of care. All this to say, Delia is a caring, knowledgeable and ethical business owner. Mango's assigned walker is Olivia. She has helped Mango heal from a traumatic experience. She quickly gained her trust and showed her that people aren't out to hurt her. Olivia has been great at adapting to different pick up and drop off protocols with COVID/not disrupting my kids naps/Mango needing to sometimes be confined so she doesn't chew things up. After every walk, I get a detailed report and some photos of Mango and her friends. She always comes back exhausted and calm. She gets to run around with consistent playmates, play in creeks, and hike with her favorite human, Olivia. More often than not, when Olivia brings her home, Mango tries to sneak back out to get back in Olivia's car! When Olivia was off work for a week, Cecilia walked Mango. Olivia brought her along with her the week before to introduce her to me and Mango. Cecilia was also incredibly kind and communicative. She was super understanding when I didn't have my phone on and wasn't home when she came to get Mango. She waited a good 10 minutes for me to bring Mango home! I had seen Cecilia out with her dog before she worked at Oakland Pet Care, and she stood out in the park as a caring, dedicated pet owner. In addition to the outstanding human talent, Oakland Pet Care makes scheduling/payment/admin stuff super easy with a dedicated client space on their website. I have cancelled/scheduled walks in the middle of the night after realizing I'd double booked myself. Delia and her Office Manager, Yvette are very responsive on both text and email. I could probably write pages and pages about the many ways in which the Oakland Pet Care team have saved my day over the last 6 months, but instead, I'm giving them permission to use me as a reference, so if you'd like to talk more about how amazing these walkers are, ask to be put in touch with Mango's person!
