Dan at Oakland Kia promptly reached out to me about my original review and was able to get my car in to fix the problems that weren’t address. I really appreciated how they responded and took accountability for my complaints. Ultimately very happy with my service
Prior review:
I didn’t have a great experience with the Kia service center. I took our Niro Ev for some routine maintenance and what seemed like simple repairs for the tail light and the windshield wiper. They said in order to figure out what was wrong with the windshield wipers I had to pay $250 for them to run a diagnostic test. For that they just shot water through the line and told me it was the windshield wiper motor which would cost an additional $400. I spent almost $1300 with them and when I got home the tail light still doesn’t work and the car battery died. I’ve read online that it is a routine check for them to look at battery health which they clearly didn’t do. Pretty mad that things cost this much now days but you don’t get the quality assurance you should for that amount

This continues to be the worst shop experience I’ve ever gone through. They’re rude, never call back when they’re supposed to, will order parts but never call you to come actually get the service done and there’s no help over the phone. I really hate this company and I’m starting to hate my car as well. No reason I should be back here constantly when I’ve told them about the issues in the initial visit. Terrible facility and terrible service.

It was fantastic being able to schedule a service appointment online, very low drama! The actual service interaction was ... ok, I guess ... they were friendly but also had a LOT of trouble listening to my concerns. That made me feel like I should take my car elsewhere, where they'll listen to me. Then, their waiting room is just silly since it is very small, with only one restroom that is used by their service staff, too. Occasionally they hold their own meetings in there so you have to wait outside. It's just a mess. The location is convenient to where I live, and it's in a great location if you want to walk around and get some lunch or coffee or something while you wait, or you can get on Bart and head to work if you don't want to wait

This service department met my expectations. The customer service representative was pleasant and informative. My vehicle was finished around the time I was told it would be finished. I plan to return to this service department again in the future.

I was very disappointed that Oakland KIA have dropped their Uber ride home and back. This is short sighted, and will result in loss of customers.
On a positive note, Albert is a true professional who takes care of teaching technicians who leave details unattended to like wires left hanging. He is the only reason I am giving 4 stars.

This was my first time at this dealership. My appointment at 9 out at 2pm. Took my 2008 kia for a air condition fix to replace filters and check if air condition needed more refrigerant. Comes to find out the machine was broken. Very disappointed. Also some break lights for overhead mount had burn out need to be replaced. They had to order them and I had to pay up front before ordering. I won't be back.

No problems, went in the my 7500 mile oil change and routine check, and got a complimentary car wash, but it took maybe 6 or more hours, which seems like a long time for such a routine job. Still, no complaints.

First time at Kia Oakland for my 2nd oil change since owning the 2023 Rio and I’m unimpressed. I was told 2-3 hours to complete the work and had to call them to check the status. They claim to offer complimentary interior vacuuming which didn’t occur and I let them know. I was told they don’t offer it (only the complimentary wash). Please update what you accurately offer to customers and call them when their cars are ready.

At my wits end. The most god awful experience ever. Our sorento has had the same manufacturer defect THREE TIMES in two years. All three times the issue was serviced here. Now on the third failure, the vehicle has been sitting with not a thing done for over a week. No updates. No explanation. Being told that an approval for repair can only be granted some ambiguous, email only entity that doesn’t respond to said emails- so they’re just letting the vehicle sit. No one answers the phone. No one answers emails. No one responds to the texts. It takes upwards of 25 calls PER DAY to get someone on the phone who never has an answer or update. My rental will now expire today, and STILL no update. Aside from the fact the vehicle is a lemon, the service is worse. Completely unacceptable.
