Every time I stop by this Minto's, I'm always like "Damn, I need to review this place!" So, here I am...FINALLY getting to it. Love, love, looove me some Minto's! I've been to one other location on Franklin street, but this location has actually been my go-to. I come here for the meat patties and the Big Bamboo canned Sea Moss. When I'm having a craving, I'll often drive to this market on my lunch break to get my fix. The only thing is, they don't always have the patties. It's best to call beforehand but... sometimes they don't even answer the phone. I like to just show up there anyways because I love perusing the market and grabbing random snacks. They've got all kinds of Caribbean snacks and spices. They also sell frozen patties in bulk that you can heat up for later. They switch up the meat patty flavors pretty often, so don't come here expecting to get one specific flavor. Also, this location is a market and not a juice bar or restaurant like their other locations. But, it still has a lot to offer. Service is hit or miss and really depends on who's working that day. Grateful that this market is so close to my job because it always hits the spot when I'm having a craving for meat patties.

We love stopping into Jamaican Markets to check out the varieties of seasonings, marinades and ingredients. We were heading to dinner when we saw this shop and had to stop me. The store is on the smaller side, but they had a great variety of options. We saw some seasonings here that we couldn't recall from other markets. We had the chance to talk to one of the owners and learned they own a few businesses in the area. We love supporting local and it's even more fun when we get to talk with the owners and staff about their favorite ingredients, products and other places in town that we can check out. It's definitely worth stopping by, especially if you love to cook with Jamaican spices at home.

The young man who works at the counter is rude and disrespectful. I have been going there awhile, and not once has he greeted me when I entered the store. I asked him if the bag of patties I picked up was chicken. He responded that if I got it out of the container marked chicken, then that's what it is. I explained that it was next to the beef container, and they looked alike. I don't eat beef. Customers can easily put it back in the wrong container. He made a rude comment under his breath while sitting at the counter. I grabbed a bag, and the price was more than I wanted to pay. I told him I only wanted four, but the bag had six in it. He got up from behind the counter with an attitude and grabbed a box , and counted out four patties out of a opened box. When I asked him how much four cost, he said I was coming here a long time, so I should know the price. I explained that I buy different items each time and seldom buy patties. I should not have to figure out the price. His job is to tell me. He slammed the rest of the patties back in the cooler. I was amazed that they didn't break or fall apart. After finishing my transaction, I told him he was very rude . He began arguing with me and made a comment when I walked out. I can buy the items I want on Amazon or a Mexican market. I don't want to deal with rude people. He was not busy. We were the only ones there.

Ordered 3 curry chicken patties. I was disappointed it was dry! It barely had any curry sauce and was expecting the crust to be flavorful but it was dry and bland. I asked the cashier what other patties they had and she said that's all they had left. The person who inquired after me, asked the same question and the cashier told her there were curry chicken and also spinach patty available. I wished I would've know that when I was ordering. I just hope it being dry was a one off. Lastly, when giving me my change, she said they ran out of quarters and gave me the blank stare. I didn't have any coins so I didn't know what else to say but just keep it since you ain't got it. I hope their restaurant part is better.

Finally, a legit Caribbean/Jamaican spot in the east bay. Good selection of authentic Jamaican goods and the patties are hot and ready! The staff is always helpful and friendly.
