“This business goes above and beyond for customers. Years ago when they were at their old location, an OUSD high school student of mine was interested in clothing design and small business. My husband liked this brand, so my student and I reached out to Oakland’s Own’s owner. Right away, he was receptive, warm, and encouraging.
We’ve since bought shirts and a jacket for ourselves and family.
More recently, I ordered kids’ clothing. They communicated a restock delay and EVEN BROUGHT IT TO ME to make sure I could gift it in time to out of town family.
I can’t recommend this business enough. And everything we’ve ordered has always been fire. The designs are hella unique and consistently great quality. Plus it’s run by good folks!

“Dope Era is, No Question the Saucest clothing store I have ever had the pleasure of stepping inside the front door of. Fab is the Man also No Question, I'm not saying that because I know the guy or because we were both raised in North Oakland. I'm saying that because it's a great store that offers a great experience and mainly because your drip will be turned up to a Million degrees after you throw on the gear you just purchased from Dope Era Believe it! P.s. I also wanted to say or more like needed to say that them cats working in there M or F are top of the line individuals that refused to let an old head like myself walk out of there without his drip dripping off his frame in a proper way and that's is coming from a who has been dripping candy clean since before drip was wet and dripping yadada mean? But ah any-how it was really really real up in that thang I mean these cats are experts in drip or in other words the ladies and gentlemen of said establishment are all themselves what I would consider connoisseurs of fine haberdashery and you can't go wrong if was to fall up in 'nere and take a gander at what the player has to offer, you will be glad you did Mackin, that's on C'tas. Oh who am I you asked? The name happens to be Scottie Thurman , one of the few Oakland Hoop legends from Bushrod Park in The North side of Oakland, I have always had the utmost respect and admiration for Mistah Fab and when we finally met he was like , yeah I know you by name only, your reputation proceeds you, they say you was a real problem for some hall of famers back in the day , it was said by someone and I won't say who that you someone who is also an Oakland Hoop Legend Superstar that you never lost to him or anyone a one v one match including the person who I HEARD say this and he won't have a problem with me saying his name, Hook Mitchell the Super Duper Star when it comes to street Hoop legends he is number #1 and he is one of your best friends no hook said you was his brother and that when you get it going your truly Unstoppable and he said you could go full speed without ever stopping and he Called you Y.C. what does Y.C. mean? It means Yo... ..”

I found a pair of denim that was perfect for me and my first pair of selvedge! In love with the fit -- definitely trust Julie to help you find a size that works. Maybe due to modern vanity sizing, but I had to go 2-3 sizes down from my normal denim. I'll be back for repairs for my well-loved pairs :)”

“I purchased some jeans GAP online during at 50% off sale. However, one pair did not fit well and I wanted to exchange it for a slim cut. Not having had to do an online return, I text chatted with a customer service rep and she explained the steps to return the pants, reorder and pay for the new pants and that it would take up to 25 business days for my return to be processed and credit to be issued. Not wanting to deal with the process, I decided to do the exchange at a store. GAP has been closing many locations and stores are few and far in between. Luckily the nearest store was only 9 miles away at the Lakeshore area and I found a parking space down the block.There was no wait and I was able to walk up to the cashier and explained my intent to do an exchange. She said I would be credited for my purchase, but I would have to purchase the new jeans at the current price and not at the price I paid, which didn't make sense. She said she would get a manager to help me. A manager came and I explained my situation and he checked if the pants I wanted was in stock and it wasn't. So he ordered it online and it would be sent to me and processed my return. The pants went down in price so I even go a credit for the difference. I was happy to get my exchange done at the store and not have to deal with the steps required for an online return. It was not simple like a return on Amazon. Though the cashier did not understand the exchange I wanted to transact, I appreciated that the manager made the exchange transaction seamlessly.”

“My daughter had a performance coming up and I needed the traditional Folklorico earrings (aracadas) and quick! I sent the business an email inquiring on their stock availability of this item and they were able to fulfill the order the same day and they are reasonably priced. I scoured the City of San Jose, Morgan Hill and Gilroy and found ONE store in San Jose that apparently knew they were the only store within the City that carry these earrings as they tried to price gauge as they quoted the earrings at one ridiculous price for me and another price for my husband, never again will I be shopping at that store in the Tropicana. I will ONLY be shopping at Casa Folklorica for all my Folklorico needs for the remainder of my daughters Folklorico career. The only major downfall are their hours of operation if you would like to pick-up the items from the store directly, which reflects the one star rating downgrade.”
