So far the best port in Oakland to work with! As a company truck driver is my favorite port, they are fast, and the people at voice call machines are kind and patient with us, different to the rude crew of other ports. Great experiences so far!

I shipped my Toyota 4runner from Oakland to my home in Oahu Hawaii. I followed their pre ship instructions, and drop-off went smoothly. You must prepay your shipping and have your registration or pink slip upon arrival at the Port. I followed the security guard instructions, and the whole process was completed in about 30 minutes.

The security guy at the gate needs to learn manners, and leave the grumpy attitude at home. He barked at us and a couple other customers. But the rest of the experience made up for it.

I shipped my car to this location from the HNL port. My car looked in good condition when I picked it up, but after driving it a week later I noticed that there was thousands of tiny chips in my windshield. These were not there prior to shipping my car, and Matson responded to my damage claim within than 24 hours to tell me they “thoughtfully” considered my claim and it is denied because I missed a three day deadline to report damage. I was not informed of any deadline to report damage, and no where does their website or my paperwork say this. But they insisted that they are released from responsibility. I’ve used Matson in the past but this is pretty unacceptable behavior especially for how awful they were on my car. I will never be shipping with Matson again unless they resolve this, and recommend others not use them as well. The staff at this location at pick up were also cold and rude and overall this was a very unpleasant experience.

You want to avoid places like this. Typical Port wait. Lines, unorganized feel to it. Takes a few trips to understand their procedures. Shipping to Hawaii

Dropped off car for shipping to Hawaii. Not too busy at 8am. A bit hard to understand directions. Expect 20-30 minutes to process drop off.
