Although they have a number of mid-range audiophile products (amps, speakers), there were three major issues with this location. 1. The staff made us feel like we were putting them out with each of our requests; even something as simple as switching between speakers. 2. The staff member had absolutely NO knowledge of the products in their showroom. Simple questions about the power handling, sensitivity of speakers, etc. went unanswered. This could be a training issue or a lack of caring/passion for the work. 3. They did not have many of the amplifiers they sell hooked up so it was impossible to hear them. Anyone expecting to drop $$$$ on equipment will want to listen to the products. If you are serious about music and audio equipment, go somewhere else.

I went in Magnolia Design at Best Buy's looking at all the Black Friday sales for a 4K tv and almost settled for an alright quality tv. I was immediately sold on the price of this tv but my mind wasn't made up and I knew I wanted something better. So long story short, Charles, who is such a cool dude for stepping up to the challenge and explaining to me my different options, while taking his time and really being patient. Best way to describe this type of customer service was; it felt like I was family. Charles helped me from start to finish, even with loading the 65' in. TV in my uncle's suv. Also, very happy with purchasing an affordable yet high end TV. Way better quality than the one I was going to get. I'm happy I didn't settle for less. I would definitely recommend Charle's services and MDC to all my friends and family.

Magnolia Design has been charging $20 on my bestbuy account for months. I called the bestbuy credit card company to ask why and remove it as my account was paid in full. They were of no help and could not explain what it was. I inquired of Magnolia and they did not know what it was. I finally paid the amount so my credit would not be negatively affected and canceled the card...embarrassment for bestbuy and clueless of Magnolia. I will never use either again as I can get anything I need from easier providers. Wouldn't it be nice if these brick and mortar retailer gave a damn before they go out of business!

Decided on an upgrade to separates with two 5 channel amps and installing fan and blowers on AV and Amplifier cabinets. Went into Magnolia and was helped by James who once again came through with his knowledge and expertise. Once again, the installation team supreme Trevor and Leroy were awesome!! These guys installed a custom ventilation system that I had purchased and went waaaaaay beyond my expectations. Now I have a ventilation system that is set to come on when cabinet reaches a certain temperature and is also set to come on at varying speeds depending upon how high the temperature is inside cabinetry. No more overheating issues! Thanks guys!

Magnolia helped us with a network, tv and wireless sound system that has been great! Recently we also added a Samsung Frame tv, which had an issue that was very hard to diagnose. Michael at Magnolia exchanged many texts and phone calls and we finally determined that we had damaged a cable upon installation. Michael texted with me on and off hours and helped with exchanging parts we thought were the culprit and even ran his own test in the store. Never had such great service!

Fixed my cracked Google pixel 2 screen for ~$122 (I used a discount code). My technician arrived on time and finished in less than 20 minutes. It was great experience. Didn't have to leave my house at all. The price would have been the same or more if I had taken it to Magnolia and I would've had to drive to Fremont, Cupertino. Puls provided a great alternative by coming to me. I'd definitely recommend to a friend for the convenience factor.

I came in to buy a TV a couple days ago & didn't really know what to get, but Giuliano assisted me and helped me make the best choice. He also made sure that it got installed correctly and had The settings tweaked up to maximize performance thanks Giuliano!

I was faced with what seemed like a daunting task of buying a new stereo system. Being a high middle aged woman - wasn't sure of where to go or how to proceed. Fortunately I met Aaron Guillory and he made the whole process fun and easy. No sales pressure or pushing of the high end components. He and Marcus came to my house to see the space before I purchased anything. Aaron's suggestions were perfect. He had me bring in my music and play it in-store to test out different speakers. It was very educational. I had Magnolia install and set everything up. I am beyond happy with my system and with the service I have received. I can't say enough here. Now I'm looking into purchasing a disco ball.....a lot of dancing in my future !

Outstanding personal service. Very knowledgable and know exactly how to sort any difficulties. I purchased a hi end sound system, tired of listening to great music on bluetooth speakers. I knew I was going to have to drop some $$$. They could have upsold me 20 times over but Markee, my sales guy wanted to understand my real needs and my budget. He spent hours and multiple trips checking different set ups and arranging for installation. Things went of track a bit with the install. A young unexperienced team came out and it was a disaster. Nothing was set up right and it sounded awful. I called and Brandon the head of installs sent out the number 1 tech, Trevor. Everything was sweet as honey a few hours later. I'd recommend asking for Trevor if you need install. You might have to wait a few days longer but he's outstanding. Overall a very positive experience and listening to music at home is now a joy again.

I was interested in upgrading my TV and DVD player and wanted top shelf stuff. They pointed me to an excellent Sony DVD Player to replace my 2000 Marantz which while still being perfectly serviceable, doesn't offer streaming or play other formats. I also wanted to replace my 2009 Panasonic plasma tv with a 4K smart tv. They showed me what was available and I decided on Sony OLED model. The salesman (James) brought it over himself after he got off, in his van and helped me carry it in (the 55" is too long to carry yourself). The shop continued to provide me with excellent support in setup, and troubleshooting. When it appeared the Sony had some minor issues (artifacts produced by the screen) they made the exchange for an equivalent LG extremely easy. Both James and the co-salesman, Aaron were consummate professionals and I can only give Magnolia the highest rating.

Magnolia Design Center is a hidden treasure within Best Buy Emeryville. The qualities of this 'shop within a shop' aim to please with its exceptional approach to the audio / visual market. I've purchased two Sony A1E's from Magnolia and received brilliant customer service on both occasions. Kevin helped us the first time. We were torn between different models so he offered an unbiased opinion based on our requirements. I praised his patience while we considered the options of each TV to determine which was best for us. Kevin didn't pressure or up sell at all while we made our decision. There was a promotional PS4 PRO that came with it as well. Markee helped us for the second purchase. He texted me his number and said I could reach out to him with questions or concerns if issues should arise. The TV had a defect after 48hrs of use so I contacted him as discussed. Markee answered quick and asked me to come in so we could swap it out with a new one (not refurbished). He was off the clock at the time but called his coworkers to make sure a replacement was readily available. The transaction went seamless. 10/10
