My husband bought my jewelry here and the quality is superb. My diamond came with the GIA certificate, and we were able to bring it back for cleaning at little-to-no cost. It's a bummer that we live an hour away, but we wouldn't trust anyone else with our jewelry, because they might swap the diamond without us knowing (shady). All the jewelry on display are amazing! My fiancé and I just got engaged the other day, which also served as the big reveal for our rings!!! But let me rewind to share the whole story. We had been discussing our impending engagement, so we went to look for rings at the big corporate jewelers just to gather information. We saw some styles we liked and got quotes, allowing us to start formulating our plans. Then we left to go have a Sunday funday around Old Oakland. After a few beers, we spotted Khai Toan Jewelry and decided to run across the street just for fun! A friendly lady welcomed us in, but she didn't speak much English, so she just let us look. After window shopping and then browsing for a few minutes, Thanh came out from the back and started helping us directly. She showed us many different styles, but we didn't really see anything we liked. Then, Thanh said that we could order custom rings in whatever styles we wanted. That was the jump off right there! She took our measurements, then showed us ring after ring until we created the exact rings we had envisioned - style of band, diamond size, cut, everything!! It meant a lot that we could get sizes that suited each of our styles while still matching. She said she would contact us in a couple of days with a quote, so we excitedly left. We didn't know what to expect after that but weren't too concerned because we didn't leave any deposit so it was risk-free. A few days later, she sent us very professional diagrams with our exact specifications precisely outlined. I was extremely impressed and trusted her even more from then on. We soon confirmed everything once more, left a deposit, and placed our order. Fast forward to our proposals, and we absolutely LOVE our rings!!!! We each picked up the other's ring separately, as to have some element of surprise and presented them to one other once we felt ready to propose. I haven't even commented on the quality yet! The diamonds are 2.9mm VVS1 stones with a nearly colorless D-F rating and 18k white gold bands. All specs are MUCH better than what we saw at the well-known chain/corporate jeweler. And the best part - we got a great deal while supporting a local business! We're SO happy, Thanh. Thank you so much!!!!

Came back here again for another upgrade. We upgraded our diamond but kept the setting. Their store have the best customer service. The price is very fair and we are very happy!

I have been going to Khai for more than 20 years now, His staff are very nice and helpful, I trust Khai when it comes to jewelries, he can tell you what kind or style of jewelry will look good on you. Every diamond he gives me are brilliant and perfect, I Always get compliments on every piece that I purchase from him.

One of the biggest jewelry stores in chinatown oakland -- was here eyeing jade jewelry! Caught an eye for a piece and got it negotiated for $40! I like this place because they are fair on negotiating prices! Will come back next time I visit home!

BEWARE!!! My fiance bought a ring here, in fact he had it made. After 3 days of wearing it a diamond fell out! I'd done nothing strenuous. It was poorly made. The prongs were mounted off-center and it was visible to the naked eye although they, Khai Toan, didn't even QA/QC it and correct the problem. The diamond itself was flawed, despite being represented to my fiance as a higher quality diamond than it actually was. Yes, they are very nice, but that is all. They sell poor quality diamonds and MISREPRESENT them. They make POOR QUALITY jewelry as evidenced by a diamond FALLING OUT after just 3 days! Can you imagine being given/giving an engagement ring only to have it fall apart?!?! Absolutely terrible experience for both of us. Better to go to a quality jeweler who has existing GIA reports on the diamonds (they did not but said they'd get one). They did take the ring back and give a full refund--as they should have.

Great jewelry store. Very nice people offer great customer service. Easy to do business ,offer good upgrade program for upgrading and value for your bling. They have another store in san Jose. The prices are very good compared to other jewelry stores.
