KP's voice recognition on their phones is garbage. It doesn't recognize what you say. And no, I don't want a self service appointment. I pay enough in my premiums every month that I should at least get decent service from a live human being!

Good luck using Kaiser between Northern and Southern California: if you travel between the two for kids in college, work, or to visit your vacation home!! Be forewarned and don’t say “no one told me! “Kaiser is a broken world right now and the patients are the first to feel it! I had an appt with Dr Kong, DO a couple weeks ago. She’s a PCP at this location: Fabiola building. The appt was cancelled-Without my knowledge. I left a work related event in another state to arrive for the apt. Kaiser SoCAl has been giving me hell for well over a year, insisting I use an assigned PCP in San Diego as well as a specialist from my San Diego service area ONLY. Travel for work occurs regularly. I have found Kaiser to be a horrible insurance for those individuals who access Kaiser Care between Nor and So CAL or even CAL and AZ or between any Kaiser Service areas. Seems like each Kaiser Service area wants the $$$ for their own service area over best care practices for the patient’s best quality of care. San Diego Kaiser insisted I use a surgeon from their Kaiser Service region (a surgeon they recommended said he doesn’t treat my fix) yet there specialists were not of the same caliber as the Kaiser NorCAL Specialist whom I had been using since 2015 (Dr Bains), when I was with Kaiser Hawaii. I had a referral from Dr Chang, a PCP in Nor CAL, yet Kaiser insisted the referral come from Kaiser San Diego. Kaiser San Diego insisted I stay with less experienced Specialists offered in my ‘assigned’ Kaiser region and service area. Member Services said you’ll be reimbursed. No worries: after the fact ‘claims,’ refused stating it doesn’t matter what me member services said. The Fine, invisible, print in your plan reads: You won’t have 2400 High Quality Kaiser Physicians and Specialists available to you. Based on my experience you won’t get to a Specialist outside of your own service area, even if the specialist in your service area just finished training. That’s who was hired. That’s who you get.

What a crisis the HMO is in. Not sure I get it. The warning flags signaling a fall have been appearing for some time, and patient quality has for sure taken a dive because the warnings were not heeded by neither patients nor front line workers. No longer can I traverse between the two regions, Kaiser Nor and So Cal without resistance from the region my plans is based in. How sad for CA residents who are KP Members requiring movement between regions for work, college kids attending school away from home, or for CA residents with homes in both regions. Across the past year I have found that to access services in the other region results in an increase in fee for service costs, once included under PCP preventive care, and cost differentials appearing for same service provider, from my own region, along with endless badgering and control tactics from Kaiser in my home service area to keep me using Kaiser services in the region my plan is based in. Particularly with the higher Corporate money-making Specialty services: I was cut-off twice from using specialty care with the insistence I use the specialist from the region and service area my plan is based in. So disheartening to be a Kaiser Member now. When I tried to get a PCP while visiting the other CA region, my home Kaiser region, forbade me, insisting I must use a PCP from my home region only. A scheduled PCP appt in the alternate region was cancelled the day before of the appt and all of my appts were closely monitored by my home region.

Kaiser has outdated information, rude employees and an incompetent staff. We weren't even able to find a person who knew where to send us to get a Covid booster. That's ridiculous and then the employees acted as if it were our fault that they don't know their own facilities. Terrible! And the black girl who works up front at your 380 McArthur location in Oakland is the rudest person I've dealt with at a hospital ever in my life!

By far the best designed building in the Oakland group. It has so many ways of enjoying the experience including the interior open space which is part of orienteering your way to your destination, (not cut off by windows like the 3600 B'dway Bldg.) Exterior garden spaces to wait at, a beautifully located café with the best view of the interior \\\"canyon\\\". All these make the experience reinforcing -not drab and boring. Everything's clean, the elevators plenty and capacious, but if you want to take the adjacent stairs -even they are sculptural and enjoyable!

The mental health services for adolescents is impossible to get into and I had to make the choice to pay $700/ month to pay privately for care. I'm lucky to be able to afford that, but it makes me so angry to have to do that because I supposedly have a really good Kaiser plan. I work for Kaiser, but would NEVER recommend the insurance for anyone who might need to get mental health services. You'll be out thousands of dollars a year (I'm looking at almost 10K) if you can afford to go outside. If you can't go outside you'll be in an impossible position. It's truly appalling.

If I could give it a zero star I would! Been coming here since birth and nothing but awful experiences. The people who work in dr turner's office in this Fabiola building are horrible. Every time I encounter them they give me hell. Lady named Beatriz hung the phone up in my face while I was explaining to her why I was so upset! Doctor gets back to you in a month, they never follow up and they never take any ailments seriously. They wait until you get so bad that you need life threatening surgery. I've had family members die here due to their negligence. I even asked the front office if it's ok for your staff to hang the phone up in a clients face and they thought it was funny. I have so many things going wrong with me and doctor never takes me seriously. I had to suffer from tonsillitis all through high school and adult hood until the doctor finally let me have surgery to remove my tonsils. They were so bad you couldn't even see down my throat. It should not have taken years and me in the er multiple times. They are a complete joke and I can't wait to change hospitals completely! I will be putting in a formal complaint as well, even though I know nothing will be done about it.

I have been coming to this location for awhile and in general, the experiences here have been good. Not great but good. I went to the lab a few times before and everyday was a good experience in the past. Today's visit was disappointing started off with this young woman who had large gold earlobe piecing checking me in. She greeted me very unwilling. And after I mentioned to her that my Kaiser card won't swipe due to damages of the stripe on the card, she demanded in a very mean tone that I read the numbers to her. I found her to be unprofessional and maybe even racially discriminating towards me. Then, I had Harris who drew my blood and gave absolutely no directions what so ever through out the process.

Brought my dad here today due to bloody nose. Got lucky with an appointment with his primary who then told us to go to the ER. We arrived on the campus at 1049am and it is now almost 9pm. Waiting for a room for admission. I seriously don't understand. And, no food or water anywhere. I left the room in ER to fill my water bottle and was hassled by the security guard. Said if I leave the room one more time, I won't be allowed back in. I have my vaccinations and am tending to my 90 year old father. Where is the compassion? Just doing their job I know. My dad's primary is lovely. I expected him to do more than refer him to the ER. Dad is so cranky. BTW, hasn't eaten since 8am this morning. They won't even give him water. He nearly fainted while we were waiting in the first exam room. Most of the staff is nice but nurse Christopher could have tried to connect a bit more. I don't find the Covid cleanliness to be that good. No one cleaning the ER waiting room, no wipes, they don't offer you a new mask, not a lot of hand sanitizer stations. Have to use a bottom on the table. Yeah, is this because it's Oakland? I would hope that all of the hospitals are consistent in their safety protocols. As much as I like that Kaiser is an intact system, this wait time thing reaffirms why I haven't been with Kaiser since school.
