My partner and I bought our first home with the Joe Dickerson group and 1.5 years later, are still happy with the process and eager to recommend them. This place is one that makes you feel educated, comfortable, and cared for in such a big decision. If that’s the kind of vibes you want, Joe Dickerson group is right for you!

After interviewing several other experienced seller agents, I chose Joe because he has the utmost integrity, is down-to-earth, listens well, has a calming presence, knows the market well, loves his work, & I had full confidence that he & his team would deliver when it came to helping me find vendors, running open houses, & guiding me through parts of the selling process that can be tricky, like setting the listing price, scheduling vendors, & making sure everything goes smoothly.Joe & his team kept their end of the bargain throughout the sale process. Knowing that I had such a great team on my side put my mind at ease during one of the most stressful periods of my life, as I was packing up my belongings & fixing up my house for sale. I knew that if I needed help with anything, I could lean on Joe & his team for absolutely anything, whether it be a consultation about how much money to invest in fixing up my garage, questions about long-term storage options for my belongings, or tracking down an invoice that I need for my tax records. No task was too big or too small for Joe and his team. That is very comforting when you are trying to sell your property & don’t have time to waste.Joe even sent me a wreath for Christmas & bought pizza for all of his clients one afternoon last spring. That’s the kind of generosity and personal touch that Joe & his team provide their clients. The most important qualities I needed in my seller agent were honesty & integrity. Two examples of how Joe demonstrated these qualities to me:1) In terms of upgrades to my house in preparation for sale, Joe was always focused on what made the most sense for me financially, not his own self-interest. He never recommended that I spend money on an upgrade simply to goose up his commission. On the contrary, he fully agreed with my calculations & upper ceilings on how much money it was worth spending on certain upgrades given the likely return on investment.2) Another example of Joe’s utmost integrity is that he was totally supportive of & willing to go along with the idea of postponing the sale of my home by 6 months if that could benefit me financially. In the end, I decided NOT to postpone the sale, but the fact that Joe didn’t blink or gripe for a second about his commission potentially being delayed by 6 months if I had chosen the delayed sale option, showed me the kind of selflessness, integrity, & professionalism that made me hire Joe in the first place.Alicia and Rae were both also extremely helpful throughout the sale process. Alicia runs a smooth ship when it comes to managing all of the logistical details & communication with clients & vendors. I always knew that I would get a quick response from Alicia to any concern, question, or need I might have. If Alicia was busy, Rae or Joe would respond in her absence. They make a great team. When it came time to set the listing price, consulting with Joe about it helped me avoid the temptation of listing my house at a price that was $50-100K higher than comparable homes had been listed for in my neighborhood. Joe didn’t twist my arm, but rather gave me his professional opinion on why the lower listing price was more likely to generate the outcome I wanted than a higher listing price, & then I made the final decision. In the end, I chose the lower listing price option, to attract more potential buyers, & ended up getting a solid offer for 30% over the listing price. I could not be happier with the results. Well, $50-$100K more would have been ideal, of course, but I learned that one’s house is not worth what the seller believes it to be worth, but rather what buyers are willing to pay for it! Keep that in mind folks when you’re deciding whether or not to accept an offer!Joe and his crew are a well-oiled, professional, and stellar real estate team. You can count on all of them to make the purchase or sale of your home as stress-free and pleasant an experience as possible.I cannot recommend Joe and his team highly enough.Gratefully and Sinc

Practically speaking, FDR once said, "Real estate cannot be lost or stolen, nor can it be carried away. it's about the safest investment in the world." Emotionally speaking, Burt Bacharach wrote, "A chair is not a house and a house is not a home." I'm not sure which muse I was following when I typed "Best Realtors Oakland" on SFiST in December, but I was extremely lucky to have found Joe. I had owned a house in Oakland for quite a number of years. When I first bought it in my financially undernourished youth, I invested money to turn it into a duplex, and then years later I moved out to turn it into a full rental property. When long-term tenants left in November, I reached a moment of reflection when I decided to sell the house. That and freedom from the chains of property management. Without selling experience on my own, I reached out to Joe blindly, and I immediately had a strong sense of competence and trust that never wavered during the entire process.Since this house was truly not a home, at least for me, it needed some overdue repairs and a visual facelift, which initially overwhelmed me since I thought I would have to take care of it myself. However, Joe and his team took complete control and managed all the work and my cost expectations. They convinced me of the value of staging, which I honestly didn't know was essential in helping prospective buyers visualize the possibilities with the house. I mean, da-yum, this house be lookin' good (photo).By March, we were ready for a couple of weekends of open houses, and multiple offers emerged, an enviable situation for a seller in a high-demand market. It wouldn't have happened had it not been the meticulous efforts of Joe, Alicia, and their team. They really made the whole process much smoother and far less problematic than it could've been if I was left to my own devices. When I took that final look back at my house...excuse me, THE house, I finally recognized that Franklin and Burt were both right. Who da' thunk?

3 deals down. I have used other agents but this is now my go to. 3 properties in, I think it's self explanatory I trust him. Pricing wizard. He gets you the bang for the buck, buying or selling. No need for extensive remodels while selling, but also can negotiate well when buying. A very easy person to deal with (and will speak up if issues arise), nice guy but he is far from timid. Plan to continue to use him without question. Nice person as well, very easy to work with, even if I am personally frustrated, he makes it work.

Recently had a really good experience buying a home with Rae as our real estate agent. We were recommended from a friend who recently purchased a home with Rae. I loved how transparent the process was and they gave a 50 minute video walking you through all the documents, which I was happy to be able to go through at my own pace. They were always available to answer any questions or concerns I had. Overall really satisfied with this real estate agency.

I cannot recommend Joe Dickerson & his capable, reliable, & efficient real estate team highly enough. I had the pleasure of working with Joe & two other members of his team, Rae & Alicia, this past spring on the sale of my home in North Oakland. After interviewing several other experienced seller agents, I chose Joe because he has the utmost integrity, is down-to-earth, listens well, has a calming presence, knows the market well, loves his work, & I had full confidence that he & his team would deliver when it came to helping me find vendors, running open houses, & guiding me through parts of the selling process that can be tricky, like setting the listing price, scheduling vendors, & making sure everything goes smoothly. Beyond representing sellers & buyers, Joe also has an additional component to his business that is unique & demonstrates Joe's grasp of finance & wealth building. I have yet to utilize this aspect of Joe's skillset & knowledge base, but it's great to know that I can call him up anytime & talk to him about wealth building through real estate investing, knowing that Joe will patiently offer me his best guidance & support. I'm a first time home buyer and I worked with Rae Weaver. She was absolutely fantastic! I had so much to learn about the process and she was patient and thorough. Even though these past few months have been tumultuous for buyers, Rae helped me navigate the (often emotional) environment with deep compassion. Because she is a great listener, she ultimately helped me find the perfect home - even though my needs are really specific (I need to account for mobility accessibility). She was there to answer every call, during any day of the week and acted quickly in the competitive Bay Area market. She also guided me through the loads of paperwork and decisions that are part of the buying process. I feel like a really lucked out with Rae and the Dickerson Group and I plan on maintaining a professional relationship with the organization for years to come!

I worked with Maeghan --one of the agents at Joe Dickerson last year. My partner and I just reached the one year anniversary of owning our home this week when we realized we never posted the review we wrote about our experiences with Maeghan!! Hopefully our willingness to still post this so delayed only speaks well to The Joe Dickerson Group's quality of service. Maeghan transitioned into her dream career, real estate, in the last decade here in the bay area. It takes genuine passion to make a bold switch like that --especially while trying to raise a family! Maeghan started our relationship off by asking questions to get real insight into who we are and what we're looking for. Out of all the other realtors we met, she is the most cognizant of how important it is to understand your client. After that conversation and for the rest of the buying process, Maeghan understood who we are and where we're coming from: a young and eager couple who are both first-time homebuyers looking for a multifamily to start our path of building lifelong wealth. One of many things we learned is that there's a whole network of people involved in your real estate search and sale! There's certain lingo and knowledge that's common for those in the industry but confusing -and at times- overwhelming for those that aren't. Maeghan was always astute about this disparity and not only thoroughly answered our questions, but took the initiative to go into full detail on processes and paperwork before we even had questions about them. After already guiding us through showings and multiple offers, we hit our biggest challenge: an unusually long and bumpy closing. Maeghan might say she's just doing what needed to be done but I believe she went above and beyond --multiple times-- with every follow-up text, phone call, email and other due diligence to ensure our questions, concerns, and action items were resolved. She endured through (as far as I've heard in the bay area) record breaking 70 day escrow and still never wavered in these duties. She was always willing to go the extra mile when it came to showing us a home, even doing a remote showing through facetime while we were out of town! As Maeghan expressed herself she strives to 'show the world that realtors can be professional, transparent, and always act in a clients best interests'. She consistently demonstrated that throughout the buying process, and I can't imagine our outcome without her. A home will be one of --if not the biggest-- transaction of your lifetime. For us in particular, choosing the right first home was important for both our lifestyle and investment goals. I'd trust Maeghan to listen to your needs and adapt to ensure you're fully comfortable with the decisions you make. When she doesn't know the answer to a question, she leverages her network of professionals and/or her team at Joe Dickerson to find an expert who will. Maeghan is not only a high-quality professional, but a BLAST to work with. She has such a vivacious attitude every single time that we talk. The home buying process is stressful for sure; but if you want to smile and have some fun with it, reach out to Maeghan and she'll be happy to see what she can do for you.

I can't speak more highly of The Joe Dickerson Group. Joe and the team helped us sell our house at the beginning of the pandemic (May 2020). It was a crazy time -- the market, county health orders, buyer behavior, real estate rules, EVERYTHING was changing before our eyes, week by week. Joe and the team rolled with the punches and navigated the pandemic real estate market while keeping us informed and managing our expectations during this time (2020!).
Joe and team were responsive, professional and extremely knowledgeable on a variety of housing aspects beyond the basic transactions. We reached a successful close and couldn't be happier with the outcome given our unique circumstance/timing.
We had a great experience and connection with Joe. We'd trust him with future transactions and would reaching out to him for advice. I highly recommend Joe Dickerson Group for your real estate needs!
