Filed in February. Was told refund will arrive in March. April came and gone. Initiated an investigation in May. Found out IRS mailed my refund to some complete stranger in another state. Now they forward my case to BFS, and when I call to find out more I get "accidental" hang up or put on indefinite hold. This govt agency has no accountability. Meanwhile I can't pay my bills.

Pathetic service. Have been trying to get them over phone for past 2 days yet no one comes up. N when they do, they pretend they can't hear us and put the phone down. Once they even said to put us on brief hold but then never came back while I was holding

It's extremely unpleasant talking with IRS people. Today finally a tax payer advocate agent manager returned my call two weeks after getting my message. At the beginning of the call she only stated her name, and then started to ask for my SSN. I can't just give my SSN to someone I can't even confirm who she is, especially her phone number was from Utah while the office I contacted before was in California. So I refused to answer and asked for her position and employee ID number (I believe most of the IRS people will state their name, position and employee ID number clearly at the beginning of phone calls, no matter they can really provide help or not). While this manager seemed to be pissed off by my questions and said "if you don't want to talk to me it's fine have a nice day byebye". Could she be more unprofessional, impatient, rude and arrogant?! I stopped her and explained that I have to know that I give my personal information to the right person. Finally she didn't hung up and explained a little bit to let me confirm her identity, still in a very rude way, kept emphasizing that "you called me and left me a message first, I'm just returning your call". How ridiculous! Returning customers' call is just her job, how can she be so entitled and condescending, like I owe her a million dollars and she was just doing me a favor?! IRS does owe me money okay?! She didn't provide any help or useful information. She just told me that she would ask the agent who handled my case to give me a call back "immediately". While actually that agent called me back about two and a half hours later. So obviously IRS people's concept of time is also different from normal people. The IRS people are the most unprofessional, incompetent, rude and horrible people on this planet. I just wish that I could talk with them as little as possible my whole life.

We went to Oakland IRS TAC last week to submit W7 forms and paper file my tax. We had an appointment at 1:30 pm, arrived at 1:35 pm, were seated for 15 minutes before getting called in a booth, and were done by 2 pm. The officer was not talkative, but did his job very fast and clearly explained what will happen next. Except the traffic, everything was very smooth.

I have a small business and taxes intimidate me. Hard to reach them by phone. So I made an appointment to go in.Bruno was out expert. He puzzled out the issue quickly. He explained everything in detail and so I could understand. Even helped with my corporate tax issues. What a relief. Bruno is my new hero. Smart, easy going, efficient. I actually enjoyed my visit and no longer fear dealing with taxes. Thanks Bruno. You Rock!!!

The greeters did not tell me to get a number so for 15 minutes, I did not get one. Had an elder woman not told me to get one, I'd have no number. Anyways after 3 hrs of waiting, 8 dollars wasted on parking, my number disappeared and the agent would not process my case. I waited 4 hrs on the phone, call dropped, got somerun around then this. I would've went online if it wasn't so trash.

I went here today to submit tax returns in person as I could not e-file returns due to IRS requirement.Pathetic experience, extremely rude black lady I interacted with. She was so rude and lacked professionalism, no understanding of how to serve customers or at best simple humility. She was so aggressive intolerant and a bit scary in looks that I felt how worst my tax dollars are being used.I wouldn't recommend this IRS office. May be look for SF/SJ one. Try to avoid that black lady who did not want to be in office till their closing time. I happen to reach on time and closing time was 40 minutes away. She said I will give you a new appointment when I had traveled for an hour to get my taxes filed as I could not e-file my returns. If you are unlucky and happen to meet her (counter # 10), trust me you wouldn't meet a pathetic lady than her in your life!

I had appointment today at 345pm at Oakland taxpayer assistance center. After waiting for total of 11/2hrs. This agent as soon as I enter and say what I’m here for. Gives me a paper asking I will make another appointment for you. It’s closed now.I think he even lied about not being able to timestamp the returns. But said to come back another day. Why will anyone wait for so long for the appointment only to get another appointment. There were other agents who were helping public. This one is a waste of taxpayer dollars. I only got the name from his badge Shaikh. The service this guy provided was anything but assistance. Please be mindful of where u go for tax purposes as they r important. I will never go to Oakland center as u can’t choose if this guy is going to be your so called assistance.

Would love to give minus stars. Waited 1hr patiently even though we were only the second party of people there this morning. Went to the man’s cube to have him roll his eyes at me and snarl as I walked in with my children. I explained nicely what I was there for to the (first time filing assistance) to have orders barked at me. I explained I was new to the country and needed assistance to have the orders barked and repeated at me again. Zero help. Absolutely beyond useless. Get another job if you don’t want to help people. I went to get help with your expertise to leave angry and unhelped. Won’t be going back to this branch EVER. It amazes me that these people can even get government jobs.
