Very disappointing stay. The room was drab, worn and filled with unnecessary, tired furniture. The heater was unpleasant to use. The wifi was not working and the staff were no help with this. On the positive side, the bed was comfortable and the location is good as a base to explore Oakland and Berkeley or get Bart into San Francisco.Rooms: The room was very drab and unpleasant. Most of the amenities were not working or not usable. For example, there was a coffee maker but no coffee. The wifi didn’t work the entire time we were there. When we turned on the heater, it blasted out heat along with an unpleasant smell.Safety: The area is rundown with boarded up business. The motel should have better security.Walkability: The area is walkable but there is not much to walk to until you get a few blocks away.

Dont expect to much but if you are in a budget this would be considered. No problem with the location, it is surrounded by foodies restaurant. What i dont like here is that one (1) hour before the check out, they will knock at your door informing you about the check out time. Staffs are not good and not bad.

They take extreme pride in their motel. Rooms and outdoor areas were incredibly clean. Super friendly people. Close proximity to Mosswood Park, if you are attending a festival. Best budget accommodations in the area!

Pretty cool place. Room was clean. Close to the Bart if you need. Had a king sized room. Art Deco vibe. Bathroom was pretty small. Overall a pretty cool spot.

I’ve stayed at this hotel before but I think this will be my last time. The first night I stayed on the third floor in 301 so I decided to pay for a second night. I was told that I had to move out of that room with no explanation. After moving my things I was put in a dingy room all the way at the end on the 2nd floor. I refused to stay in that room because of the stale smell. I asked for a different room and was then put back into a room at the end on the third floor now that strongly smelled like cigarettes. The last thing I told her is that I do not smoke and can’t stand the smell. I’m not sure why I was pushed all the way at the end. It wasn’t because there weren’t better rooms available because I left and came back at 6:00pm giving them a chance to clean all the rooms. They just seemed determined to put me at the end. Anyway I didn’t like the way I was treated and will definitely not stay again. This place has changed for the worse in my opinion.

If you're visiting your kid at UC Berkeley and you don't want to spend $300 a night near the college then this is the place for you. Clean, doesn't smell like cigarettes and only 13 minutes from campus. Plenty of joints around to eat, including on Alameda island, which is very close. No shady people around as far as I saw. I'll be coming back here again. I left out the star because you have to pay for ice at this joint which only 25 cents, but still who pays for ice at a hotel?

No luxury here and our room was old but clean. For a budget price you have a parking spot, decent bed (soft side), good couch, coffeemaker and AC/heat. Convenience store and burgers spot in short walking distance. BART station is 8 minutes walk. Perfect for a touch and go.

Would have been nice if beds we’re clean. Room looked good. Bed looks comfortable, but when pulled covers back. Looks like same sheets someone slept in and multiple long hair on bottom sheet. When asked for clean sheets, I was told didn’t have any. Then given second room. Second room was worse. This time found what looked like fresh blood stains on mattress protector. Kindly asked for refund. Then young woman who says she is general manager became sassy and said, “ you pay for what you get. Its only $100. Try marriot down street and pay a $150.” My response, “or just provide clean room

Need a place to lay down your head crash for the night. This might be the place for you. For my 3 night Jan 2023 stay in the Bay Area I needed a place that was reasonable cost, close to transit (specifically BART), and in an area I would feel moderately safe walking around.Imperial Inn is a one star establishment so one should keep their expectations in check. The Good• Great bed - slept fantastic and no bedbugs -- pillows and linens were comfy and by no means scratchy.• Wi Fi worked well• Dish TV worked and provided me ample content• Microwave and mini fridge functional• Plenty of room to spread out• Curtains worked well (only a little bleed through)• Decorating of room was actually pretty well thought out (compared to what I would expect)• Furniture was in good condition.• 6-minute walk to Macarthur BART Station• Good dining and coffee options up Telegraph Ave and Broadway. I recommend Burlap Coffee for morning joe, Beauty's Bagel Shop and Mama's Royal Cafe from this trip.• Not too many barred windows in area. The Not So Good• Toilet continuously running (kept bathroom door closed)• No toilet roll holder (do people steal these?)• Iron missing (I didn't need it but I am sure they would give me one)• Sink drain was a little rusted out.• The comments about the noise are real, although for me it was more during the day where people were yelling outside and there was a lot of clomping feet and loud music upstairs (insulation non existent). Didn't really bother me too much but folks with sensitivity might want to bring earplugs.Bottom LineI would definitely recommend for solo travelers traveling on a budget and couples not traveling with a primadonna. It checked my economy lodging check marks with some cosmetic dings that Imperial Inn can easily fix...if they read reviews :-)

The room was cozy and nice. The furniture was oddly placed and there was a stain on the comforter. The lady is friendly in the front. Lots of places to sit. The TV wasn't working. This was a great stay for a budget inn.
