I keep calling this location my belongings are in the rental car and I’ve yet to get a call I have valuables in that car and nobody has a answer on how I can reach them or where my stuff is I don’t understand

I am writing to express my utter disappointment and frustration with my recent experience at your rental location, which was, without a doubt, the worst customer service I have ever encountered. I have been a loyal gold member for years, but this incident has completely shattered my trust in Hertz.
In May, I booked and prepaid for a 7-passenger vehicle to accommodate my family during our trip to the Bay Area. Despite having already paid in full, I was informed upon arrival that I could not pick up the vehicle because I no longer had the original credit card used for the booking—a card that had since been replaced. This is an absurd policy, especially when I was able to provide an alternative card from the same issuer and other forms of identification.
Instead of offering a solution, your representative provided nothing but unhelpful directions to three separate customer service numbers, all of which were closed, leaving us completely stranded. The suggestion to cancel our reservation (which was no longer possible) and book a new one at more than double the original cost was insulting, given the circumstances. Ultimately, we were forced to rent a smaller, inadequate vehicle and pay twice for a service we never fully received.
This is unacceptable. Not only did this experience ruin our plans, but it also highlighted a total lack of empathy, flexibility, and professionalism on your part. For a company that prides itself on customer loyalty and satisfaction, this was a complete failure.

I've never experienced such a dangerous and frustrating car rental as a 15+ year gold member and renter -- I have used Hertz for everything. The staff at this Hertz location were not only rude but negligent. The first car they gave me wasn't cleaned (smelled like dog, hair inside, and we are allergic and were driving across the country so I just asked if they had another available). They then rented me a car with a nail in the tire, causing a slow leak. When I raised concerns about the tire pressure gauge at the time of rental, they dismissed it as a sensor issue without even checking the car.
I was forced to drive this unsafe vehicle across the country, refilling the tire THREE TIMES A DAY. Attempts to contact Hertz were futile. Emergency roadside assistance was useless, couldn't help unless I was completely broken down, with an 8-hour wait time. Due to my tight schedule and no guarantee of a replacement, I couldn't deviate to return the car. It wasn't until the final leg of my journey that I discovered the nail when I took it to a shop for yet another refill.
This location's practices are downright dangerous. They put my family's life at risk by renting out a car in this condition and then gaslighting me about the issue. This Hertz branch should be shut down immediately before they endanger more customers. Avoid at all costs!

One of the worst customer services experienced. We travelled over an hour to pick up a pre-booked car to be told we couldn’t collect without a passport. We then left and rearranged booking over the phone to pick up in San Francisco next day. When arrived in SF they told us we never needed our passport to collect but there was no booking for us there anymore so they tried to charge more than 3x the amount we had made the booking under, needless to say we didn’t pay this and went with SIXT instead for more than half the price HERTZ were charging. Will never use this company again.

I rented from Dollar rent a car.I arrived about 50 minutes early. The Dollar rental agent said I couldn't pick up the car until my agreed rental time which was 12 noon.I had to wait almost a hour before I could pick up my car.Would never had rented a car from Dollar if I knew that was thier policy. Other than that, the car rental shuttle bus is on 15/20 minutes pick up scheduled and the car rental building is only 5 minutes away.

Come here if you want the WORST Customer service.
My family and I had a car reservation and were visiting California for a funeral.
Upon arrival, the car was no longer available.
The front desk staffed was beyond unhelpful. Short tempered and rude.
Would not honor or accommodate a car of equal value to the reservation.
The young lady had absolutely no sympathy and was absent of any moral character.
Came in July 13th 2024 at 10:30 AM at Hertz Rental Car Agency.
Was charged $65.94 and more than a week later have still NOT been refunded.
Absolutely unbelievable.

They can’t go lower in customer service. Booked a car in advance, landed at OAK before midnight ready to drive out. Submitted license and cc details via app to land at page saying wait for choosing car. Then it said location closed. Tried calling which no one picked for 30 mins. I took Uber. Next day took me a whole day to have a human answer who tells me their are open until 1am. Before I could say can I pick my car the agent hangs up and then decides to hang up on me everytime I call back. Will never recommend hertz.

The only item or complaint is for coverage of payment... point being you can't use debit cards have to have valid credit card be it Visa or Mastercard....
Reason why I didn't have valid card with me only debit so I drove all the way home and drove back for my rental car besides that everything went smoothly.... for weekend at Tahoe south shore.....
So Happy trails give someone anyone a smile .....

System was down which the guy at the desk found funny everytime someone asked for help. Literally stranded here at 1am being laughed at. Absolutely ridiculous. There should be a way to pay in cash and do this not digitally. People who prepaid were also told that nothing could be done and that they could just call in the morning to get their money back. When asked if there was someone they could call for IT to fix it the man said "ma'am it's 12am..." with a rude smirk. One lady was left stranded by herself asking what she is supposed to do because she didn't want to be stuck there at 1 am. The same guy said "well I'm stuck here too..." Difference is he has a car and isn't left stranded. Him and the staff of the staff went to the back room leaving multiple people helpless some with children. The man said "have a good night" and slammed the door. They did not offer any form of compensation. Just left us to figure out what to do in the middle of the night.

WAY off-site of the airport. Understaffed but she was doing a great job. Found the car with no issues but getting out of the lot? Not well marked or directed.

I will NEVER rent with Hertz again.
Doing everything online down to selecting my own car is a disaster in that it doesn't seem to work very well, thereby not being able to just "go to your car" once you're done selecting it.
My pick-up time was 8:30, and 4 cars later, I was finally leaving with the 4th car at 10:30.
It was a super annoyance for me because I have mobility issues, so that wait definitely took its toll.
They really need to work on that app!

Always seem to have a bad experience at the OAK airport location. I have a reservation and am a member of the President’s Circle. I arrive to find exactly 4 vehicles between the Gold and President’s lines. Poor selection so I get in the best car which is an Explorer. I get in and notice a strong smell of smoke and men’s cologne. I just wanted to get in my way so I asked the agent at the gate if she could please notate the rental about the odor. I did not want to be charged for smoking in the car. Long story short? The agent and a woman who claimed to be a manager both refused to make a notation and said to take another car. I was not going to be driving around in a Chevy Trax. I am. Big 250 lb guy. Poor service. No longer going to pay their high prices for ooor selection and service.
