EDIT: i managed to make it in during the weekday. try going to their website and calling to get in. very gorgeous bouquet and kind people (mark & kevin). sorry for my previous, impatient review.

I needed a last minute gift for my sister's birthday and ordered flowers from helen's flowers. They did the most beautiful arrangement I have ever seen. My sister was overjoyed. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it.

I needed a last minute flower crown. I called a few places in the Oakland/San Francisco area. Helen's Flower Shop was so friendly and accommodating from the first phone call. I only gave a vision of what I wanted. When the finished product was picked up, it was perfect for my Goddaughter's 1st Communion. She loved her fresh crown as did I. Above satisfied with the work and customer service I received. They went above and beyond!

After emergency surgery at the downtown Oakland regional spinal surgical unit, I came out with a smile on my face for fantastic care, caring nursing staff and wonderful doctors and PA (physician assistances) making sure all went well. I wanted to do an appreciation to the hospital floor staff who took care of me 24/7 for 4 nights from the emergency room to the 8th floor wing for surgical recovery. So I found the nearest flower shop near Oakland Kaiser, talked to the owner and he was so kind as to recommend the flowers, the arrangement and chocolates to deliver. He knew exactly what to arrange and when to deliver the bouquet of rFlowers to the 8th floor back in August 2023. The value was average to high cost for a large bouquet of mixed flowers so that the entire floor and the afternoon shift can appreciate the flowers/chocolates. I would do it again with Helen's flower shop if I happen to go back for additional surgery. Oh yes, after 4 months from the date of the surgery, I can walk 1.5 miles without a cane.

This is my second time using Helen's flower shop and each time they make sure my delivery gets there on time and the flowers are to my liking. They communicate with me each step of the way and make sure to get everything that i need. I ordered a stuffed animal and they said they had no more in stock. They offered to give me bigger flowers or chocolate and could tell i was disappointed. He went out to find the perfect animal in which she loved even more than the original stuffed bear. Everytime i want to make a local delivery i will be going through Helen's. Thank you so much.

It was a last minute call on Friday, and Mike was able to take my order. He is amazing, kind and ace on his customer service. He is friendly as well! His fiancee is very kind and helpful. Total experience is very good and pleased. Will come back for the future events.

In a time when the economy doesn't make thoughtful gift-giving as easy as it once was, it's so wonderful to find a business that not only makes a customer feel valued, but that they are giving you their undivided attention. That was my recent experience with Helen's Flower Shop. I called the shop one morning after learning a friend was in the hospital. I spoke with Mike who listened to my interest and needs and immediately assured me that he could provide the flowers I wanted (sunflowers) and a same day delivery. Mike didn't try to squeeze me into a set price box or arrangement type, but listened and suggested what he thought would fit my needs. We agreed upon a mostly sunflower arrangement with a mix of filler colors. And the same day delivery to the Oakland Hospital was no problem at all. Mike also texted confirmation of delivery. My friend was truly uplifted by "the burst of color to the dreary hospital room!" From start to finish, I enjoyed my transaction with Helen's Flower Shop. I will most assuredly be a returning customer!

Amazing Service, Mike had helped me and made sure I got the best service and walked out feeling like I got the best set of flowers. I would recommend going to them and I will be returning whenever I need some flowers again

Amazing customer service! Made me feel like family. Beautiful flowers and what felt like a consultation while making the bouquet for me really jus made it feel really personal and authentic. I really appreciate y'all and will fasholy be coming back!

So here's my story about Helen's. In particular Mike, who helped us. If you don't have time to read the review, Helen's was the best flower shop transaction I've ever had.Our friend in Oakland lost her husband this year. We were out of the country for his service, and we wanted to send flowers. My initial web search brought up an international flower broker posing as a local shop. Apparently this is common. I kept asking if they were local; she kept insisting they were. But then I dug a little deeper - while on the phone with them - and, seeing a ton of "they didn't deliver" reviews, I hung up before finishing my order.We wanted some place local because we're not from Oakland, or even California, and I would be relying on a local's expertise in terms of the delivery. A little more looking brought up Helen's, which seemed like a real, local, brick-and-mortar shop with a long history in the area.Mike answered, and was incredibly friendly and efficient. Yes, they would design an arrangement for the price. Yes, they would deliver it on Saturday. Leave it to them, he said.Well, as I feared, I gave Mike the wrong address. The brewery hosting the service (yes) has a small West Oakland location, and I gave Helen's the East Oakland address. (Only one was prominent on the internet.) Suspecting something was up, Mike called me. He had delivered the flowers, but he was convinced the service was at a different location. He offered to call the brewery, and/or to re-deliver the flowers. In the end, I called the brewery, and they shuttled the flowers to the correct location. But without Mike, and Helen's, I wouldn't have known my mistake, and the flowers would have remained at the wrong location.I know this is TL/DR, but I felt compelled to review Helen's, because they went way beyond expectations on this one. Use them for your flower needs, you won't be let down.

Super inconvenient and cumbersome to get to.You need security clearance just to use the elevator to access the shop, and the person at the security desk might as well be a mannequin.

I called Helen's Flower Shop on the morning of my loved one's birthday, knowing it was super last minute and hoping I'd be able to get an arrangement by the time of the party a few days later. Mike was INCREDIBLE! He asked what bouquets I liked best, and 30 minutes (yes, 30 minutes!) later had made a GORGEOUS custom arrangement! My family member LOVED the flowers, which I was able to give him later that day, on his actual bday. Thank you so much, Mike, for being so accommodating and for your beautiful work!Edit: The price for a custom bouquet was very reasonable, especially considering it was last minute!
