I have purchased few radios and several accessories from the store and here is my experience.My biggest issue is the store sells returned items as new, I came across the situation myself twice. Good at refurbishing and re-selling as new. I think they rotate returned items between different stores and sell as new, when I asked them they say that it was shown to customers but that is not true, below is a clear exampleBought a radio and returned it, after few days my friend wanted to buy the radio and they sold the same used radio as new, the reason I remember is he showed it to me and when I clicked on memory, the channels I stored with names are still there. I was laughing like hell and I could not believe that the store sold the returned item as new. Staff is not very friendly to new HAM enthusiasts and behave as if only experts should walk into their store.Trust is a big factor for any business and this business lost my trust and my friends trust. Try Amazon or other stores.

Edit: Jenny called me after I posted the original review, apologized for the issue and immediately shipped a replacement unit. Like the other reviews have said, it's been great customer service and I would definitely shop here again.Power supply was damaged before it left the shop. The larger outer box it shipped in showed zero damage, but the PS box inside was deformed, like it had been dropped off the shelf. Upon opening the inner box, the styrofoam protection was cracked and the power supply case was bent. The damage seems to be limited to a slightly bent case and it looks like it functions properly when I turn it on with no load. I would like to use it immediately so returning it isn't a great option but having a company ship a damaged box without checking the contents beforehand is disheartening. Hopefully there's no unseen damage that manifests once it has a load on it.

Above and Beyond Customer Service ! This store went above good customer service ! I will take all my Armature Radio biz to these folks in the future ! I have been in the retail business for years, with some the largest in North America !! GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AN ASSET !!!!! Not a cubicle phone in a slave labor country far away that could care less about you !!

I never went into the physical store but because I got my radio license I called to inquire about getting radio parts. The person I spoke to was very helpful and he spend 20 min of his time recommending radios and other things online that I can order. If I get the chance I will make the long trip just to support them, they are nice people who care about the amateur hobby and will go out of their way to help you I am extremely impressed on their customer service!

Love this place. Its 1 hour away but my $2000 order of radios and antennas was within 1% of the Amazon price. Support our dealers or they will disappear like Radio Shack.

First time buyer from Ham radio outlet and I am blown away impressed! I don't usually write reviews but these guys earned a good review. A very nice and knowledgeable sales person named Tim at the Oakland location was extremely helpful over the phone I was calling him from Ohio and he helped me put together a real nice antenna system for a CB setup not once was I look down upon because I'm just an old fart CB operator and I don't have a ham radio license. Tim never tried to sell me anything I didn't need and made sure that the antenna and mag Mount base were compatible with each other. He found both of them at a Ham Radio Outlet location in Virginia and literally a day and a half later low and behold the UPS man hands me my packages. Talk about incredible salespeople and service. He was on phone with me for easily 10 to to make sure that I got up & running and my voice could be heard loud and clear up on 11 meters. Lol. I highly recommend these guys! Thank you Ham Radio Outlet and personally to Tim, you are my final inspiration to go get my ham ticket.

I have bought a tremendous amount of equipment through Ham Radio Outlet. Most of the time my orders go through the way they are supposed to. However lately I have been noticing some severe problems. I have had problems on three of my last three orders. Wrong items being sent, things not being shipped And things being backordered without me being told.Today I had occasion to call because of a missing a part in antenna I ordered. I ordered this in tennis last year and was unable to install with due to an accident and several surgeries. I left everything in the box so as not to lose anything. Now struggling to get this up by field day I am missing a whole antenna section. I called the national sales manager who I had been dealing with before on my other problem orders And I was quite disappointed that he did not make more of an effort to get me my part. He did send an email to the manufacturer requesting that they replaced the missing part but I expected more from Ham Radio Outlet. Giving all the order problems I have had lately I fully expected them to take one out of a box and send it to me and deal with the issue on their end later. Granted I did order the antenna last year but good God have some compassion for somebody who was in a bad accident and couldn't get to install the antenna. If that was the only thing I bought from Ham Radio Outlet I could understand their indifference. However I have purchased my entire Communications system through this company. I was expecting a little bit more of a can do attitude and someone who wanted to help me get to participating in field day. Now I am at the mercy of the manufacturer. Hopefully they will provide better service.On a previous order they were completely out of stock on a certain item with no expected delivery date yet they took my money And put it on back order without even informing me. So at the last minute I was scrambling around trying to find a part in which there was only 15 left in the entire United States. Finally I found it at DX engineering and much to my surprise they FedEx did a 2-day for me at no extra charge because I had told them the story of what happened and they felt bad. That is customer service! And where is Ham Radio Outlet certainly does have the best prices I think I am going to shop more now for customer service and reliability as opposed to price.Shame on you Ham Radio Outlet. I know you did not make the antenna but you did sell it to me. I'm sure anyone at Ham Radio Outlet who was injured and having the same problem would probably expect a little bit more Of a "yes sir will take care of that for you right now attitude."
