I've never been here, but the owner waves to me as I drive by every day on my way to work which makes my day. 5 stars.

Worst business I've ever done business with. Some years ago, I ordered a custom door from the j*** who owns this place. What a mistake!!! Terrible experience, terrible communication and lousy j*** of an owner. I was told to pick up the door on a specific date. I arrived on that day with a truck. Door wasn't ready. Finally I am called and told the door is ready. I pick it up I get it home and install the door and it wouldn't stay shut, kept popping open. The door was warped. It had to be returned and another one made, meanwhile, I have plywood covering my front door waiting for this shitty company to finally make me a door (that isn't warped) When the door was returned, the Owner told me "If you'd picked up the door when it was ready ..." WHAT? He's trying to blame me for the lousy way he runs his business? The word from other companies who do the same work? "If you want a warped door, go to Frameworks" Frameworks is cheap FOR A REASON. They suck. Don't trust the positive reviews, literally the WORST j*** I've ever dealt with.

In July 2002, Ralph of Frameworks made six windows for my Oakland home -- it's now been fifteen years, and they're still working terrific! The double-pane insulated glass hasn't seen any condensation, and from the inside, the wood glows. The outside? Perfect match to my Rockridge home. There are plenty of cheaper, cheezy windows, sold at big box stores, often made of plastic, vinyl, MDF, or some gawdawful gunk. You get what you pay for. This is the kind of craftsmanship that's so rare. Ralph and his crew are a treasure ... one of East Bay's real assets.

Called in to find out if thia place could cut some wood for me. They told me they could and to come in. I showed up half an hour before close, only to be told that they couldn't do the cuts today, they had no idea who I talked to, they wanted to be out of there at 3:40pm and to come back Monday. Horrible customer service, would not recommend.

Note, work not completed with Ralph but wanted to get a positive word out. Ralph came to give me an estimate on window replacement for old steel framed. He was very honest this would be a very tricky job with a lot involved. In fact he almost talked us out of it really by explaining the full scope. He gave us a good lead on replacing hardware that we had been unable to find and followed through on getting back to me with his contractor's name by email. It's so hard to get a contractor to follow through on anything let alone if they get the sense you are not going to give them a lot of business. All this to say, Ralph's generosity and follow through are the qualities I'd look for if I was hiring someone. As it is we cleaned up our existing windows and replaced all the hardware following Ralph's recommendation.

Frameworks is the place to get quality windows and doors. They stand by their work 100%. Ron, is Ralph's primary installer and he works with attention to detail, making sure everything is installed properly. It is GREAT to SUPPORT a LOCAL business too!

In 2020 my house will be a hundred years old. The south windows have seen a few presidents and a world war or two. They finally died. I took them to frameworks and for a good price got new exact replicas made that fit and work. While I was there I got a peek at the fancy stuff these fellows do with windows. WOW... Truly artisans. Good on ya blokes

Frameworks is great! I had a window with dry rot that needed to be replaced quickly, to meet the painter's schedule, and they were able to do the work and meet the schedule. The workmanship is good - the window fit perfectly and matches the others in the room. They also fixed/adjusted other existing windows to close and lock properly. I'm really happy with their work!

I just received 5 new wood frame Tilt Pac windows ordered through Frameworks. The whole experience was great. I prefer to work with local businesses, and Ralph is the real deal. He'll talk shop and politics a bit, and share interesting stories from running a small business over the years. His crew helped me right when I walked in (without an appt.) and Ralph got back soon after. He came by the next day to give an estimate to replace my original double hung windows which were leaky and loose. He suggested that the Tilt Pacs were the way to go. This was cost saving for me, while not a huge margin for them... but they believe in the product and that's why they sell them. I placed the order, they called 3 weeks later as promised for order delivery, and Ken called to schedule install. Ken was great too: expert, easy to work with, clean and careful with the house. When doing his onsite review prior to install, he noted that the trim wouldn't quite cover the window edge and offered me a reasonably-priced option for him to add new trim pieces and he'd prime them that day for the next-day install. He also was able to reinstall the alarm sensors, saving me another call to the alarm company. All-in-all a simple, as-stated delivery of beautiful, double pane, quiet wood windows at a fair price for my hundred year old house. They look great, and my house is happier sporting them!

Our 90 year old 5 and 6 foot wood windows had severe dry rot. We got estimates from 2 contractors. Based upon yelp reviews, and price, we hired Frameworks. Ralph came to our home to confirm the need for a complete replacement of 6 windows. One of his men, Ken, then came to get exact measurements. I informed Ralph that I was planning to be out of state for 1 month; he had no problem waiting for my return. His 2 installers, Ken and his brother, arrived last Saturday morning for the installation. 5 hours later we had absolutely beautiful new windows. The installers were very skilled, neat, and a pleasure to talk with. We recommend Frameworks without hesitation!

Great custom work! Many friends and I have relied on the Frameworks for reliable replacement sashes for several decades now. I love the convenient location and the very friendly and helpful service.

Ordered custom windows. The windows delivered were not the windows we ordered. When the windows were installed the Frameworks staff insisted on installing the windows in the evening, in darkness, at night after sunset. The installation was sloppy, without attention to fitting the replacement windows correctly We agreed to their conditions but in retrospect there is no way we would ever recommend this shop. Very strange. We had to hire another carpenter to fix the sloppy installation.

As a contractor I come across many rotted windows and Ralph with Frameworks has always provided a high quality replacement that's custom sized and easy to install. I highly recommend Ralph and his team and have total confidence that his product will be made of the best quality wood and craftmanship.

I've had both windows and doors made for my house by this company. I agree the communication is poor; I was told the doors would be done much sooner than they were. The windows don't fit very well, and now, the French doors stick and, I mean really, really stick. I have to shoulder the door open to get out. I realize it's been rainy this year, however for the price paid I would have expected a better product. These weren't inexpensive. The company came highly recommended by my contractor who likely gives Frameworks a lot of business and thus, deserves the attention and good customer service he claims to get, however, the customer service isn't so good for the individual.
